  • I know how social I am on the weekends. And it is even worse during football season. So I make my “cheat day” a weekday. Sounds weird, but I take a day off in the week when I know I won’t go as crazy. Then on the weekends, I kick my workouts into high gear first thing in the morning to prepare for the day. I think that…
  • I highly recommend reading this post. It clearly outlines, when how and why "cleaning" and other such activities are logged as exercise. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/291071-activity-level-and-logging-exercise
  • I think this will greatly depend on where you are in your fitness level. The last thing you want is to be very diligent for the first two weeks and burn out before you can complete the full 30 days. I think that 3-4 times a week, with a rest day in between is completely sufficient and will yield the results you’d like.…
  • I am that height and when I met my husband 7 years ago I was 140lbs and looked great. I would love to be that weight again. But I would be satisfied with between 150-160lbs. I have big boobs and curves so I think I can still look good at that weight as long as I am toned. That is my realistic goal. I got a ways to go :(
  • Jamaican here. Portmore, St Catherine. Been in the US for a while now. Will send an add request
  • Sort of said already, so I’ll just reiterate. You burn calories at all times, all day long. Primarily measured in BMR, your body expends energy a.k.a burns calories just to survive. That said, yes you are burning calories while you walk. Your question asks if “significant” calories are burned and that will all depend on…
  • I wear freya bras somtimes too. Did not realize they had a sports bra line too. Will have to check them out. thanks!
  • I tested it and it and it defaulted to a US address. It should be able to read your IP. Not sure why it is not working. Now when you go to figleaves, you have to click on their US site.
  • 36HH here. I buy all my bras from biggerbras.com I am in the US, but I think it is a UK site. I find that the UK has better fits. For sports bra I get the Shock Absorber level 4 bra. I agree with some former posts. As an fyi for regular bras I get the Panache. The bras and sports bra are a little more expensive than normal…
  • Great recommendation! I was very much against yoga until I saw what a difference it made in my ability to do more.
  • My unprofessional recommendation. In the beginning try to do more cardio than strength then gradually get to where it is about even. So it depends on how often you work out. For example, let’s say you work out 5 times per week, then 3 would be cardio 2 strength until you can make it even. That said, for me crunches,…
  • Weighed in.....gain 3lbs :( Feeling so defeated, but glad I have the challenge. Trying not to act defeated. It has been bad with work and life interruptions, but I am determined to stay with it. Not sure I can make 50 burbees, but I will aim for 20 per day. Thanks again for doing this. T
  • My personal recommendation would be reflect this in your “Activity Level” settings in your profile rather than add this as a workout. If it is more or less a daily routine, I would change my level settings. I found this post helpful in understanding activity levels and how they work.…
  • thanks all, I have some great ideas! Went for a walk at lunch too so feeling bit more inspired =)
  • Depending on your fitness level you may need the 30D shred to prep for P90x. P90x is much more extreme (even if you just do 30min of each workout). If time is an issue and you don’t mind the repetitiveness of the 30D shred, then I would vote for Jillian. If you need variety to stay motivated and have a little extra time…
  • I really want to get into this but I feel so silly doing the moves :blushing:

  • Welcome to mfp. I am sure you will like it here. Arm yourself with a great support group and keep coming back. A few things to read, that may help things make sense. I know they are long, but worth the read. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/faq http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/186814-some-mfp-basics

  • Ok, so I expanded my search to the we, and according to this it was in Fitness Magazine not Self.....oopsy! It also apears I left out some key info on the Heart Rate one. The good news is the entire test is here if anyone is interested and wants to burn some cals today.…
  • Sure! I am totally out of shape though. And here I thought I was getting better. HR – 67 Cardio – 15 seconds Upper body – 10 (barely!) Core – 40 secs I tried looking for this on Self Magazine’s website but I could not find it. Wanted to clarify the Heart Rate one. How did everyone else do?
  • Good point. I have no idea. I wrote it from the magazine on the back of an envelop :blushing:
  • I am not familiar with Turbo Jam, but I know Insanity is a pretty tough workout and many folks (myself included) have to work their way up to being able to do this. They are also very long, and for me I can only do those on the weekends because of how late I get home from work. What has worked for me is Exercise TV…
  • Cardio, cardio, cardio! Specifically running. Running is the most ideal way to shed fat quickly. And that’s what’s on the belly. All the crunches or core exercises in the world won’t matter if layers for fat sit on top perfectly sculpted abs:smile:
  • Very normal after your workout. As you do it more consistently, you’ll see that it will take more for you to feel that way and you will probably start either extending your workout times or increasing the intensity. Great work!
  • Hello All- Yay! The scale moved!! :) Not by much, but so very happy! SW 186 CW 181 GW 150 12/31/2011 Mini Goal 179 8/18/2011 Vegas Trip Mini Goal 160 09/18/2011 Weigh in: 180.4 09/09/2011 I hope everyone had a wonderful week! T
  • welcome back! Feel free to add me
  • My vote is with Exercise TV is as well. Either using your cable On Demand or online. The variety of workouts are endless. Also, of you have Netflix, there is usually a few work out dvds you can steam.
