Hi. I am new. I am a 39 year old mother of 3 girls (8, 10, and 13 years old). I did MFP 3 years ago and lost 60 lbs. Then I got depressed and regained it all and more. My metal health is much improved the last few months and now I am working on my physical health. I am a vegetarian (for 27 years) and have to work around a…

Drinking too much milk. I love it, but even fat-free milk has a lot of natural sugars, and the calories add up fast. Also, giving in and buying processed food/desserts because I had a good coupon for that product or it was free after coupons. FREE JUNK is still JUNK is a shopping motto of mine.

I am on Mirena, too. I have had my current one 4.5 years, needs to get replaced this summer. I had one between children 2 and 3 before that. Only kept that one a year before I was ready to try for another baby (which then took another year because of breastfeeding). I have had very little side-effects, if any. The main one…

I divide total number of calories in dry pasta by the amount by weight in the package (so total calories in package/weight of package) That gives me calories per ounce (or gram). I then weight the amount of dry pasta I am cooking if it isn't the entire package. Amount going into the pot by weight * calories per weight unit…

"If you bite it, write it!" Is my philosophy. That being said, I am very careful in measuring portions with calorie-dense foods (like pasta, cheese, etc) and a little more relaxed about measuring low calorie veggies (like cucumber slices). I like to use a kitchen scale for most measuring. Much easier and more accurate than…

This post popped up on my home page. I wanted to add, I am allergic to latex, and have not been able to eat banana for many years. Also, Mango and papaya are horrible for me (they cause anaphylactic symptoms.. so very serious). I also have something called "oral allergy syndrome" where some foods bother me when they are…

I do, but not "only water" for the day. I fast and have two small meals during the day and one larger meal in the evening. The two smaller meals must equal less than the one dinner meal when they are added together. Any beverage is okay, including a glass of milk. But not something that is supposed to replace a meal like a…

I count nursing my 2 year old as 200 calories a day. She nurses for short sessions about 2-3 times a day, and longer about 2 times a day. I still have a milk supply that I can notice coming and going with her feedings, and she swallows a lot in the begining of her nursing.... so I think I am making milk. Just not as much…

Hi. I am new to MFP but am breastfeeding my 2 year old and trying to loose weight. I have 3 daughters. My periods came back when they slept all night without nursing, but that wasn't until almost 2 years old for my girls. The first two times, I got pregnant again on my first cycle, with natural spacing of 2.75 years…
