Although, as great as it is to have a beard, please keep this study in mind: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/scientists-warn-weve-hit-peak-beard-the-more-people-grow-facial-hair-the-less-attractive-it-is-9264020.html Link to original scholarly article:…

I've kept a beard for about 10 years now. Here's my advice. - Keep it trimmed and neat. Don't let it get uneven or wildly out of control. That doesn't mean you can't have a long beard, just keep it shapely. - Experiment. Beards come in different shapes and sizes. Try them all till you find something you like, and even…

That's pretty fantastic. Inspirational.

Well folks, I finished my last week of insanity. Results were mixed. I didn't lose a single pound (in fact, I gained a half pound in 60 days...). But I did lose 1/2" from around my neck, 2" from my chest, and 4.5" from my waist. So that's good. What's really striking to me is that my bf% didn't move over the last 60 days.…

That's a really good idea. I'm going to give that a whirl when I restart the program.

Marcelo - First off, these numbers aren't bad for your first fit test. I'd be more concerned about your admission that your form is bad. You'll hear them say on Insanity all the time to watch your form. That's really the biggest thing. Without proper form, you can really hurt yourself. In essence, never sacrifice form for…

I'm still going. My 4th fit test was on Monday. It was killer but I went up in nearly every exercise. Max Interval Plyo yesterday which kicked my butt and Cardio and Abs this afternoon. So far, I've missed a total of 3 exercises. 1 because there wasn't time in the day, 1 because I ran 10 miles that morning and couldn't…

Hey @sassycraftyfi - That's my first marathon too! I'm just trying to finish it. If I can get it in under 4 hrs, that'd be awesome, but I just want to get through it.

C25K is what I used too. It's a great app. It takes the thinking out of it. I even use it to get back into training when I've taken some time off from running. Good Luck!

After getting used to Month 1, it's so nice to be sore again. Month 2 going strong so far.
-
Oh my god! That's so totally what happened! Thanks for the advice!
-
Yes, I have a piece of advice for you. You will have been lulled into a false sense of confidence after getting used to month 1 and an easy recovery week. As such, your first day into month two will feel like a swift kick in the nads after completing your bi-weekly fit test, going directly into max interval training. By…

Hey everybody -sound off. How's it going for you? I'm coming up on finishing the recovery week. I'm kind of in love with Core Cardio and Balance. Anyone else notice the one guy who keeps stopping throughout the whole workout? I mean come on! It's the easiest workout so far! That said, I've lost ZERO weight in the last five…

Halfway through week 4. I'm looking forward to next week's Recovery Week. I missed one workout last week, which sucked. But I got right back on track. @kwyze - go for it! I'm going to finish the program about 2 months before my wedding. I'm thinking about doing it a second time before the wedding.
-
So that should be around week 3 in the bag. How's everyone doing?

Great work Geoff! How'd everyone else do in week 2 (ish)?
-
I know it's the whole point to it, but today was absolutely insane. I'm about to keel over. That said, week 2 is in the bag. Looking forward to Monday's fit test. Looking more forward to tomorrow's rest day though.

Holy $hitsnacks! Power Cardio and Resistance kicked my butt today. But I powered through. At least I know I've improved my globe jumps... I'm a little nervous for tomorrow which is pure cardio and cardio abs in one day (first time doing that). But, it's also my first long run day for my marathon training. So I'm getting up…

Thanks for sharing Haley. Congratulations on your success.

Some easily digestible carbs (like a 1/4 cup of raisins) and a bit of water about 1/2 hour before should do the trick. Make sure you're properly hydrated from the day before though.
-
So the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.... :-) I'm finishing up week 2. And you're right, they are a bit repetitive, but I feel like that's part of the challenge. Keeping yourself focused during the workouts is hard, just as hard as the workouts themselves.
