Thank you all so much! This is just what I needed. It was hard for me to actually write down my experience, for all to see. But it was worth it, for the support I've received in your responses. I've had a not so good couple of days, both health wise and emotional-wise. I finally did the last thing that needed to be done…

Amy - what a wise boss you had. I'm going to write that on a note card and put it up somewhere in my house....maybe on my mirror. It's a reminder that happier times are just around the corner. Thank you for taking the time to share with me. It's encouraging to know that someone who has been through the pain, came out on…

Walking is my main form of exercise. I know I need to change my internal dialogue and make it instead of something I just need to check off my list - something I purpose myself to do when I know I need a break from the emotions. I love walking my dog but she had knee surgery a few weeks ago, so I have to slowly increase…

One thing I do is just get back with the program. I don't cut calories or increase exercise. I simply don't let myself add another off-program day to what I've done already. Always remember, it's not what you do on some days that matters most - it's what you do on most days! I also MAKE myself log every single thing I eat.…

I have a slightly different take on this. One thing that makes a big difference in how fast you lose, especially at first, is if you gained it recently. I can gain 10lbs in a week, if I'm binging. So, even though I might lose that 10lbs really fast, it's not necessarily unhealthy to do that. If you're a goal oriented…

Wow! Just...wow! Your pics are inspirational, but you know what? Your words are even moreso. It's easy to lose focus on the fact that it's really just time. Like I used to say when I was working on my teaching degree, and it was taking me longer than most, because I was raising my babies at the same time - "Time will pass…

You look amazing! It's crazy what a 25lb loss will do to your body. Very inspiring!

I'd like to join. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the graph of whatever, but assume you'll let me know. Thanks! I'm hoping to pass my half-way weight loss goal which will be a total of a 25lb loss. That would be huge for me and would be the lowest weight I'd been since my son was born...19 years ago! LOL Can I…

You have a great attitude, but I so understand what you're saying. I have Multiple Sclerosis and a few other health issues. I can't predict what I'll be able to do as far as exercise goes on a day to day basis. My son is a personal trainer and he says that contrary to what most people think, you don't have to exercise to…

Sorry it took me so long to get back here. I'm still finding my way around. I've lost 4+lbs so far. Yippee! Chris Powell has his clients do 1,200 to 1,800 calories a day. Of course, those on the show make exercising a full time job and I can't do that. But I'm doing 1,500 calories a day and that seems to be a good number…

Really happy to hear that there are others who aren't doing the 1,200 calorie thing. I just feel like I'm starving to death on that amount. So, I upped mine to 1,500 calories with about 25 minutes of exercise each day. I am 5'7" and have 70lbs to lose. So far, this is working for me. But the key has been not to freak out…

Can I join you girls? My goal is to lose 16lbs by October 31st. I know that's a lot, but I'm just starting out, and tend to lose pretty fast at first, plus, I'm going by what Chris Powell does with his clients (Extreme Makeover). So, I'm really pushing myself. It's time! So, how will this work? Weekly weigh-ins? Or do we…

I love Extreme Makeover (weightloss edition). I was reading trainer, Chris Powell's blog the other day. Those who are on his program are allowed a cheat day. For them, it's on Sundays. BUT...and this is a big one...there are two rules. 1) You are allowed only an extra 1,000 calories - no more. 2) The extra calories have to…

Oooh...pick me, pick me!

Congratulations, my friend. I so understand the trauma of an affair! Here's what I see in your pics. I see a huge change in your face - not physically, but in your countenance. Your eyes are bright; you look happy and hopeful. You're obviously living your life to it's fullest. And that is a true transformation! Good for…

Dang, girl! You're such an inspiration...seriously! And I understand exactly what you mean by the "journey" not having an end. Because it's really about the path we walk every day. That's true in fitness, and true in life. Waiting for that magical something to happen, so that you can be happy is bunk! Be happy with where…

Wow! You are an inspiration! Congratulations!
