@shorepine Thank you for the welcome. I am sorry you are needing to do all the farm work yourself and take care of the family while your husband is away. Just think of all the extra calories you burned! Glad he is due back soon. @BrownSugar174 Thank you for the welcome. It sounds like you have a wonderful husband. Cherish…

Hi everyone, It's my birthday today and I found this group. Help! I need some friends. I restarted mfp a couple weeks ago after getting diagnosed with gastritis and non fatty liver disease on top of the fibromyalgia, arthritis, gerd, and allergies. So I am serious about losing this weight and keeping it off. I don't want…

Monday check in. Calories under Exercise chasing and carrying a thirty pound two year old for 6 hours along with his baby brother. Not sure it that counts but I am feeling it. Water above goal Really feeling sore and hurting today. Not sure if it is all from having the little ones today or if I am also just hurting from…

Weigh in March Week 1 charlottemilton Previous 266 current 259.5 First week loss 6.5 lbs. I know lbs lost each week will be lower because I won't have the big week 1 loss again. I have a long way to go to get to a "normal" weight, but according to my doctor, I don't have a choice. Diagnosed a bit over a week ago with…

It might be a case of gastritis. I was diagnosed last week and symptoms sound similar. I did have to wait until I was the gastroenterologist for a diagnosis. I am now on a low fat, low to no dairy, limited red meat, high fiber, LOTS of vegies (6 servings minimum a day), diet and some medication that I take before eating to…

Are new people welcome in this group? I hope so. I knew I needed to lose some weight and did lose and keep off 27 pounds a few years ago. Lost more than that but didn't gain it all back. I was diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver disease last week. Only treatment is to lose weight or eventually go into liver failure.…

Get her in to see her doctor. I have itched for awhile and was just diagnosed with a liver problem. Itching is one symptom. I thought it was just dry skin and allergies.

Thank you for the welcome Jugar and lindamtuck2018. When do I post my stats for March? I assume I post here. I have a question if anyone can answer. How do you do the @----?

Strawberry milkshake made with frozen strawberries blended with low fat milk. If you have the calories available, to make it really decadent, you can add some dark chocolate chips and have a strawberry chocolate chip milkshake. Yummy!

I use one when I am walking. At the moment I am only on the treadmill because I don't trust not falling or not being able to get back home if I am alone. I have bad knees that don't always cooperate with what I want to do. I have found that if I aim for my target heart rate, over time I am getting faster to get and keep it…

I have trouble with my potassium levels. It isn't as bad now as it was when I was pregnant and ended up with IV potassium for 4 days once. I suggest trying to eat more sweet potatoes, bananas, oranges, carrots, baked potatoes, etc. Most vegies and fruits contain a fair amount. Many of the foods on listed in the food area…

Memphis, TN -- it was 9 degrees this morning, but at the moment we have sunshine which is nice. Yesterday we had a few, very few snow flurries.

Same here and if the person is doing bad fad diet like 500 calories a day and won't listen to sense.

This is great! You did so well the pictures show it all. I have already started but now off to the treadmill instead of procrastinating on that (my difficulty.)

Number 1 if you are serious this time around is to update your profile and LOG everything that goes into your mouth. Just logging will make you aware of how much you are eating. Remember this is a long process of remaking yourself so it will take time. Changing from 100 lbs a year to 50 lbs means you only need to cut your…

Hi everyone. I expected to be up today due to overeating, I thought last night. Thought I couldn't find this thread again today to post and was upset with myself for not bookmarking it. Today is a new day, start of a new year, and a new us (or at least our bodies.) Name: Charlotte Height: 5'4" Starting weight: (1/1): Goal…

I can totally understand how you feel. I have to be careful not to get discouraged easily. I have some health issues one of which causes me to retain water periodically even if I am being careful to do everything right. I have been known to gain 8-10 lbs overnight when my joints swell. Even though I know it is just fluid,…

This is perfect timing as I definitely need some accountability and motivation to be better to myself again. Was doing well the first part of last year until fall then . . . we all know the story. Feeling yucky so need to get back on track. At least I didn't regain it all again. Name: Charlotte Height: 5'4" Starting…

I second all the suggestions above. I feed 3 adults and 1 teenage son on less than $200 a week and I buy organic fairly often so it can be done. I do take the grocery circulars and plan out the menus for the week. Several years ago, my husband and I took a finance class and learned that using cash to pay for purchases…

Usually we eat the whole egg at my house. But when there are egg yolks to be eatten-- Make spritz cookies! They are small but a treat and they will freeze. Usually they don't make it to the freezer because the kids devour them first.

Hey. I haven't any experience with any medical weightloss except for what my doctor says which is that I need to lose weight. He is happy that I have lost some but he doesn't know I stopped coming here until earlier this week and gained some back. If you are looking for a friend with a lot to lose, you can add me. I am…

When I feel like that I get online and check, find someone I can identify with, and try to get them motivated or encouraged. It seems to help me stay on track. I am back here after several months because I can't do it without help from others which includes helping others. If after 2 weeks (July 31 to now) you feel like it…

First I would suggest opening your diary. If you are binge eating every couple days then my guess, and this is just a guess because I can't see what or how much you are eating is that you are either not eating the right kind of things or not eating enough. If I don't get enough protein, fats, and fiber then I binge.…

I regularly buy rye flour and other types of specialty flours. If the regular grocery has them they are cheaper there. Bean sprouts--the only place I have found that has them. I also buy the seeds to sprout but usually don't sprout them in time to use them so have to go get them. Kale--I don't often find this in the…

We have one of those soda machines. I like to make plain sparkling water and add lemon or lime juice to it or else the fruit flavors they sell to make seltzer water with. It is also good with just a bit of juice concentrate added. Fizzy like soda but mostly water.

You may add me if you like. Please let me know where you have seen my post or something about yourself if you send a request. I don't usually add blank requests. You have already gone a long way. I also have lost 39 pounds so far (my ticker says 37 because I haven't updated yet until Thursday) and have more than 100 pounds…

Thank you guys for a heads up on the stride length. I have never been able to use an elliptical without pain if I am on it any length of time. I didn't know they had ones the stride could be adjusted on. I just bought an incline treadmill for that reason. Good luck on your search for the right machine.

I started into this challenge after the start date. Since Sept. 18, 2013 I have lost 37 lbs. I think I made it and then some. Congratulations to everyone on their losses. Every loss is a win!

Just in case anyone is interested, I did see my wonderful doctor today and he is really pleased at my progress. He thinks the swelling in my legs is a side effect of one of my medications. He is doing some other tests to make sure that this is what it is and we are taking some short term measures to deal with it until all…
