Hi, all! Happy spring. Love catching up on all the news. I also appreciate @Sinisterbarbie1's reflection on the triggers always being there. I appreciate everyone's reflections. Been feeling a bit down the past week+. Didn't even do my outdoor cardio yesterday, which is a bad sign (also is something that helps my outlook,…

@MissMay You rocked a bikini photo you posted once, soon after the big move, so Ima guessing you are starting from a good place. Have you talked abut this dream vacation in August? Do tell! @Michieb125 Fantastic photos. Thank you for sharing. Wow. Love hearing about these RV vacations. So interesting! (except the harrowing…

@lmlmrn Beautiful find. So awesome hearing about your travels. All that planning and it's happening! @MissMay Work situation scary. That no bueno. @itladyee Oh wow! Thank you for progress photos. Turned out fabulous! @GaryM_25 I love how yours turned out, too. Dueling cheesecakes. Cheers! @Sinisterbarbie1 May I come to…

@itladyee Hope your friend is ok and you connect soon. After asking around among my sailing friends what's in theirs, I concluded there is no common denominator and everyone just makes what they like and calls it that. :D Mine is equal parts fresh grapefruit juice, Cointreau and tequila + a squeeze of lime for the pitcher…

@MissMay I totally missed the part of your history where you were a baker! How impressive! @itladyee and @GaryM_25 You guys must be the holiday cooks in your families. I am, too. Also serving lamb chops but mostly because I recently discovered them in my Jenga freezer (looking for something else I lost in there). They're…

Total agreement with the "I know it's not healthy...wanna do it in a healthy way" contradiction noted above. Regarding the bolded, a 1500 calorie deficit for a person who only has 10lb to lose will not in any way "feel good overall" especially if you are able to keep it up 3 weeks. Also, losing muscle (which is what…

Many thanks, @MissMay. Reflecting on all the major life change you have had, and still kept us going on this thread, well, it's amazing. Thank you. Welcome, @MonkeyMel21 & @GaryM_25. Nice seeing your contributions. [ETA: should have said "welcome back" to @MonkeyMel21 ] Last month I had 18 AF days (mostly because it was a…

@joans1976 Yay, yay, yay! Still here for you. You have had an inspirational outlook throughout, so thank you for sharing with US. Here's to being on the "back 9"! @womona May the force be with you. @dawnbgethealthy On no. Was that the Foster Grant job? I remember once you said you would never quit that one. I hope it was…

I listened to a podcast that interviewed a Dr regarding the off label use of diabetes Rx for weight loss. Her attitude seemed to be obesity causes lots of harms and stresses the healthcare delivery system. If a pill works to reduce consumption & thereby reduce body weight where nothing else has worked before, that pill…

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/24/well/eat/ozempic-side-effects-alcohol.html I thought this was an interesting article. My guilty pleasure is NYT comments (I guess unsurprising for someone on a comment board :D ), and they are even more interesting.

@itladyee awww.... love your photos. Thanks for sharing! @joans1976 Much better Tuesday, you're a peach <3 @dawnbgethealthy If it were my neck of the woods, I might guess liriope. Many varieties - including variegated, dwarf - but nominally a pod of dark green thin leaves with a purple flower spike ETA: spelling

Greetings, all. So nice seeing comments from long time followers. Welcome! Quiet-ish weekend. Last minute went out to a bar to watch basketball with DD#1+BF Friday. We had already had dinner and I had already had 2 glasses of wine when plan was hatched. They already had a pitcher of beer on the table and although I did…

Love the trailer pic! Lurking airstream photos is a guilty pleasure. So much creativity! Happy Friday, all. AF so far this week. A couple times a drink sounded pretty good, but habits kicked in and waited for the weekend. Don't have anything social planned, hope to get some yardwork done. Not quite warm enough to plant…

@joans1976 catching up a day late and hope today was a better day than yesterday. With a little time outside. Your posts convey so much strength, grace and centeredness. So sorry it felt bad yesterday. From here, it looks like you are truly amazing even when things feel bad. ETA: when DH has a bad day, he always mentions…

@lmlmrn May the force be with you with home repair. Contractors have been in and out working on our "punch list" for a year. I have learned patience I never knew was possible. Getting it done with deadlines... that must be a challenge. You have my sympathy. Anyone remember the old sitcom Murphy Brown? She had the painter…

Guurl, I feel ya on this one. Word. For. Word. I don't think it's psychological for me, though. I am hungriest in the afternoon. I do best when I eat most of my calories in the afternoon. Big snacks. My meals tend to be low fat, so I depend on my snacks to reach my macro minimum for fat -- nuts & cheese, that kind of…

@Michieb125 I think I missed a question directly to me about calorie counting. Sorry! Yes, I am a calorie counter. I've been maintaining my weight 30+ years (excluding pregnancy) with more or less style and grace through the years, and so far, calorie counting is by far the easiest way I have found. If I found an easier…

OMG YAY!!! for the end of radiation. You know, Amanda, it is a really sweet photo of you even with the burnt skin. Really rooting for clearance for Bali! Love all the other pics. Esp the kitties at the end. <3 Greetings and happy Friday, all. Apologies for not keeping up with you guys. Happy for all who have received good…

@joans1976 Well done on the radiation table steering thoughts to what you're looking forward to vs. dread. Gold star for mind control. Hang in there! You are on the back 9. Happy Friday, LA friends. AF so far this week, not sure how many that is for the month. I'm more of a one week at a time gal. Rock solid on ST the last…

I totally get IDGAF at times. It's really hard to overcome so better to prevent. If you can figure that out, please share.

@RubyRed427 oooooh no! What a bummer! Take care of yourself. And heal fast! And you, too @joans1976. Good for you for going to the ER promptly. Narcissa, or was it Dramaryllis? can go *#&$^ herself.

@dawnbgethealthy Yay! So nice to see you out and so glad it was an awesome day. It looked like crystal clear perfect weather. Thanks for the pics! @RockinRobyn672 very sorry to hear about care complexities with your dad. It's tricky navigating fo sho. ((hug)) @mfowler883 Take care out there and drop in anytime. Thanks for…

Hi, all. I've been following the Murdaugh trial, too, and was surprised (and relieved) the verdict came so quickly. SO many unanswered questions around that one. Anywhoo... AF M-Th and split a bottle of wine w DH last night. Plan to do the same with dinner at home again tonight. I appreciate comments from @itladyee and…

Do you know what triggers or precipitates binges?
-
Wow. You have been through a lot! Have you ever used a weight trend app like Happy Scale? It can take >1 mo of data to see loss for menstruating women especially. Sounds like what you are doing will work eventually. Take care of yourself. Eat enough. Don’t be miserable. Don’t get overuse injury.

@forestdweller1 oh I love that - "March Moderation" @joans1976 My heart hurts for you. How awesome that you can spend the day with her 17 year old, though. I hope it's full of joy and love for both of you. There must have been wonderful things to celebrate about your BFF's life for so much love to still be going strong…

Kudzu (love the name!) photo is terrifying. Glad she's ok. <3 Happy Monday, all. Fun weekend and fun night with intern's parents. The stylish hotel bar had an old school lounge act that was not at all the scene I remember it being but we all had fun. Did not stick to plan. (What's new?) 6 drinks for the weekend/week. Also,…

@dawnbgethealthy oh nooo.... very sorry about Covid. What a bummer. -22C. Not jealous. Apologies for popping in without catching up. When last here, the group was discussing greenhouses. I'm in plant hardiness Zone 8 (no too cold), so some perennials overwinter but many perennials cannot. Like herbs, and I use those year…
