I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate anyway. I can have a small little square for about 50 calories, and if I have 50 calories left at the end of the day, it is the perfect after dinner treat.

When someone cooks for me I ask them what they used and it what quantity, if they have a recipe I'll make a copy of it and then log it in the recipe builder. If I go out to eat I look for similar items in the database or I look up recipes online for what I ate and use that as a reference. You can't say something doesn't…

Hi! Sarah here, living in Brooklyn working in SoHo (hi Andrea).

I've heard you can make nut milks with a juicer if you are into that kind of thing - almond milk, cashew milk... if I had a juicer that is probably what I would do with it.

I  the greenmarkets. I go to the Union Sq one on my lunch break some times. I am also a total nerd and will bring scraps to compost. I'm so excited to see more vendors popping up and more fresh produce (and flowers)! Yay Spring!

Did you read the second half of her statement?

Could be dry skin and depending where you live it could be weather related. My skin is always dry in the winter from the dry air of heated buildings. And when my hands are dry they scrape up and bleed very easy. I've always had problems with bruising... but I think that is an iron deficiency. Anyway, curious to see what…

This is great. Nice work!

That sounds awesome. @Desterknee - do you go to BKB often?

Thanks everyone for your input! Its comforting to know that I'm not the only one with this issue. @Ed, I'd like to know more about your process and therapy to overcome food addiction. I'm sending you a friend request, hopefully you respond :flowerforyou:

I've been considering doing the same exact thing - switching from NROLFW to SL. I even got the SS book. It is a beast and totally awesome. Good luck to you!

Interesting video. I don't think it is discouraging but it does prepare you for reality. Changing your weight is not easy, whether you are trying to gain or lose. I could totally relate to the guy who talked about the shame cycle (which for me is: "oh, I totally ate more than I was supposed to, I'll eat less next meal, I…

Nope... don't skip the meat and definitely don't skimp on the guac! My last salad from Chipolte was 485 cals, 34g fat, 18g carbs and 45g protein = perfect romaine, chicken, fajita veggies, cheese, guacamole, and the green salsa

cookies and cream protein powder bunch of greens (like spinach) half banana half cup strawberries half cup chopped celery milk

Bumping because this is a great discussion. Seems to me there is no absolute right or wrong answer. You have to do what works for you (mentally and physically).

Is it correct to assume a person's RMR would be higher than their BMR? When calculating TDEE - do any online calculators use RMR (most I find use the BMR)?

The history isn't very interesting. The park is called Sleeping Giant because the mountain, from a distance, looks like a sleeping giant. Maps even pinpoint the head, chin, shoulder, hip, etc. The tower was built in 1936 as part of the "New Deal". I see you are from Washington- I'll be in Seattle in a few weeks visiting my…

I honestly don't remember the details of my "cleanse". I got it from Whole Living magazine and I'm pretty sure I only consumed vegetables in smoothie and soup form for a day or two before my body freaked out. Regarding the juicer, I hear you can make your own nut milks (almond milk, cashew milk, etc) with a juicer, which…

About a year ago, after the holidays when I was feeling bloated and awful I did a "cleanse". It wasn't a juice fast, but it was a diet of "cleansing" foods. I ended up throwing up on a crowded subway on my way to work. And since I was "cleansing" my vomit was mainly the pink colored bile that was in my stomach since I had…

It seems counter intuitive to bump up your work out and at the same time feed your body less of what it needs. I think increasing intake of micros is great, but I prefer using a blender that way I get the fiber from the fruits and veggies. Plus blenders are way cheeper. I would do some more research on this "detox" thing,…

Nope, not the only one. I really don't want the attention and I'm extremely shy and awkward so I'm assuming that is why. Sometimes it bothers me but most of the time I don't care.

Hi. I'm new to the group. Just did my first hike of 2013. It was short (less than 3 miles) but challenging - a steep rock scramble at the start. Somebody was kind enough to photograph my butt. Anyway this is "Sleeping Giant" in Connecticut. And here is the look out tower at the top: Looking forward to seeing the amazing…

Hi! I went on my first hike of 2013 today! Came home to check on MFP to see what everybody is up to and thought I'd hunt down some fellow hikers. Nice to meet you all. Anyway, I'm currently living in NYC. I try to get up into NY state too hike as much as possible.

China, Ireland, France, Germany, Mexico, and Canada...

I  pushups. Make them challenging though. If you can easily to a pushup, then put your feet on a chair and do them like that.

yes!   The dude pulling her pigtails back = awesome!

I found a coupon for a place that does RMR testing in NYC for $40. I thought this sounded like a good deal so I bought it. PM if you are in NY and want details.

I, in no way, mean to be offensive, but couldn't most overweight people be considered "endomorph"? I had to look up what endomorph was, so this question comes from complete ignorance. Just curious.

I would guess she actually isn't interested and is using you as an excuse. Fun stuff.
