If I really wanted to log it, I'd look up approximate equivalents in the database. Personally, I'd let it go if I had faith in my ability to be reasonable.

Personally and to a very large extent, yeah, I do use the BMI index as a guide. I will be officially not-overweight at 136 or so and I think that's pretty fair considering my proportions. Oh and if I were you, I'd get to 180 and see how you feel about it then.

I keep motivation by keeping up with MFP, seeing how well I'd do if I behaved that way every day, updating my weight loss blog, and exercising. I generally find that I feel better and am more successful in my other efforts if I exercise. Making myself go for a jog just seems to keep everything else in perspective.

Any combinations of fruit EXCEPT blueberries (because these tend to make my smoothies very gelatinous) - usually banana for the bulk, some frozen strawberries, and water. I never use milk, I occasionally add a scoop of Slimfast or a protein shake, and I often add leafy greens. I'm dying for a good recipe involving pumpkin.…

I hate to revive a dead thread, but after stopping drinking caffeinated beverages, I've changed my position entirely. I didn't replace the many ounces of diet pop I was drinking and within a week was getting crippling dehydration headaches because my fluid intake was so much lower than normal. I would absolutely count diet…

I don't log my water at all, but I wouldn't count diet pop.

Pitted dates.

Of course. To me it reads a lot like fat-shaming and I don't like that, but I am glad it works for you and there's no shame in that.

I think part of the problem, McKayMachina, is that most of us probably get a lot of condescending and fairly inaccurate advice related to weight loss. At this point I'm so tired of being told that I need breakfast, can't eat peanut butter, can't eat at night, can't eat all of my calories in one meal or twenty if I please,…

I can see that the way she addresses people could be really helpful to some, but it really puts me off. Some people must like or need that though.
-
It is an opinion- and others are presenting opposing opinions. I am not a big fan of being told what I will do, personally. If I skip breakfast, no, I will not go out and overeat. No, I will not be tired or irritable. Someone might and if they do, they should eat breakfast.
-
The title doesn't seem to have much to do with the contents of the book. Oh but elsewhere online she does say not to skip breakfast so meh. No thanks.
-
Sure- but they're not "creatures" in the sense that the word creature is used colloquially. :) Good try though.
-
"Bump" is just a filler word to use in a post to return the topic to the top of the forums and keep it visible.

I like guys to be a bit pudgy, especially when compared to me. That said I haven't fallen for anyone's body before I've fallen for who they are. Whatever you want to do will probably be fine honestly.
-
I'm fickle, I can be temperamental and I hate repetitive... anything. I'm very hard on myself and I can be brutally honest (but I'm not socially incompetent so I know when to lessen the blow and when other people might want or need to hear the truth).

I went jogging (week 3 of couch to 5k) for the fifth day in a row today and I might go tomorrow morning as well!
-
A lot of the disagreement has also not been posted as suggestions or options though, either- they are stating 3-6 meals a day and the necessity of breakfast as fact. People can do whatever works for them, but this isn't a matter of only one side (IF) not playing nice and everyone else going "But breakfast works for ME."…

But they were being sarcastic/hyperbolic, so you were thanking them for agreeing with something that they were only "agreeing" with because they think is silly.
-
I'm confused about if you know what's going on here and are being snarky, or if your thank yous are genuine...

I've read this a lot, but I've never actually seen a study to indicate that you do harm to your metabolism by eating less often than every four hours or so. I did see a website link to a study indicating that it does take much longer to slow your metabolism by not eating (and that you do not go into "starvation mode" if…

I pretty much never eat a 'traditional' breakfast. I'm not hungry when I wake up and I highly doubt that it's doing me any harm. I don't eat until well after noon most days. That said, I don't really care what anyone else does and I hope it works for them.
-
Great job! You seem pretty open so I hope you don't mind me asking this: How many calories does it suggest now for your maintenance? Do you think you'll stick with MFP for a long time from here, or do you think you'll try to stop logging after a while?

I prefer the second one, but I generally like dresses that are more no-frills.

While that is a bit funny, some people worry more about numbers than eating specifically healthy foods (and that's fine!) and some people probably still like to add in the occasional fast food or something to their otherwise healthy diets. That said, there are definitely better ads. My ads on the screen right now are about…

I think that you are misguided about why "so many marriages don't work," and regardless of how I feel about keeping track of coworker mistakes, it seems silly to me to decide that that is how "most women" behave.

The spinach-iron link is not as great as people think. I suggest fortified cereals or dried fruit like apricots.
-
I don't use them as meal replacements, but as meal supplements. They add some calorie bulk to breakfasts of just fruit or lunches of just baked squash. I also enjoy the taste of SlimFast very much.
-
I rarely eat them, but I think sodium is a non-issue. I'm never anywhere near my recommended sodium intake for the day, so if I cut it close when I eat one of those, I think I'll be fine. I also don't generally have a problem with preservatives.

Every morning and sometimes a time or two throughout the day as well. I record any loss.
