Then you have one of the hardest parts down and ready. Having kids is stressful. The mental, physical, and emotional toll it takes on a woman is tremendous. The fact that you have gained weight isn't the end of the world. Be proud of yourself for giving life to 4 children and relish in the fact that you can kick butt now…

You will fail. Failure is a part of life. Being afraid of failure is the same as saying you're afraid to try. You will have bad days. You may have a bad week. If you really and truly want to "keep up with" your kids, you will do it. It won't be easy. It will be difficult at times to say "no thanks." Your health and…

If what you are saying is accurate, then you should see a physician to see if you have any medical conditions that would contribute to your inconsistent weight loss. However, I would look very closely at your logging methods. You say you are eating "around 1200 and netting at 1000," but are you using a food scale to weigh…

If you eat more you won't lose more. That's not how any of this works. If you were eating 1300-1550 calories per day with no loss, you are either eating right at maintenance or underestimating your caloric intake. More than likely it's the latter. Get a food scale and really see your portions for what they are. You are…

I eat 2100 calories per day (sometimes a little more as I have it set a little lower than my recommended amount by MFP). I'm a very big man though, so that amount is good for me. I tried the whole "1200 calorie" thing too because I wanted to lose weight fast. I stopped when I realized I was having inappropriate fantasies…

Meatless sausage? So...it wasn't sausage?

2 scrambled eggs with cheese, sour cream, and salsa over a sausage patty and I'm good to go for most of my morning.

My butt and breasts. Yes, as a man those two areas seem to be the hardest for me so far to show any noticeable changes. Doing push ups and squats don't seem to be doing anything.

Ha. It's funny cause it's true. I'm one of those people who used to convince myself that if my weight didn't go down in a particular amount of days that it didn't matter and I should just eat whatever. It's taken a long time to get that mindset changed. I still have the occasional bad day, but it's gotten better. I weigh…

The fact that you're even weighing your food is a positive, so it sounds like you're doing what you're doing.

No such thing as a dumb question. You are correct. Most scales will allow you to "zero" out something on the scale. So if you put your bowl on the scale, hold the "zero" button and it will show the weight as 0.00 or something. When you take it off it will show that with nothing on the scale it now reads -0.08 or whatever.…

If you have a smartphone check out a weight trend app. It's nice to use to input your weight each day, and it will show your general trend, whether up or down. For iOS use Happy Scale, and for Android use Libra like the poster above said. It will give you a better representation of your weight loss and won't make you…

That sounds like a really sad spell from Harry Potter.

Just remember to not overdo it on the "healthy eating" kick. It's great to say you won't eat anymore junk food, fast food, or fried food. It's harder to avoid, especially if you're a busy adult with a full-time job. Just remember that it's okay to have something "unhealthy" every once in a while. At your weight you don't…

My first priority for you would be to seriously consider why you gained all this weight in the first place. It's easy to say "well, I got married and didn't watch what I ate." You almost doubled in size in 7 years. If it really is all there is to it, then good, I'm glad you've identified the problem. If there is more, like…

Which is pretty much what people with chemical dependency addictions have to do as well.

I can speak from some personal experience on this one. It may not be that he is trying to sabotage you or not support you, he is worried about what your relationship may become. If you're anything like me and my wife (and I have no reason to believe you are, so please ignore if I'm wrong) he associates good times and fun…

Set a reminder on your phone for 9 PM everynight. "Log MFP end of day." When it pops up remind yourself of why you want to lose weight and do it. Even if you go over your calories. Keep yourself honest and it will come easier.

You've found yourself in a downward spiral of self doubt. The best way to change your thinking is to start small. Don't go all in and give up foods you enjoy and things you enjoy doing. Start small with something you know you can attain. Once you actually do it your mind will begin to process it as a positive and it will…

Oh okay. I misunderstood then. What is your ultimate goal? How much weight do you want to lose? Do you want to be able to run 5K races for fun when you're done doing this weight loss?
-
People can eat as much fast food, cookies, and Dairy Queen as they want. As long as they stay under their caloric goal they will lose weight. If you were only eating 2200 calories a day or less while still eating those "bad" foods, you would still have been losing weight.

Check this out for your afternoon chocolate fix: http://www.proteinworld.com/recipes/protein-chocolate-mousse/ It's really good, on the lower end of calories, high protein, and really good. It definitely hits the spot for me.

Good rule to live life by.

I sometimes add spiced rum. I'm glad I'm not the only one who adds a little "kick" to the morning juice.

Marriage is most definitely hard. Anyone who has been married for a noticeable time can easily tell anyone that. People married 50+ years aren't that many, but ask a few and I guarantee you they will say it was hard at times. Anything in life worth having is worth putting effort and work into. A marriage is a blending of…
