Thanks for all the recommendations! I think I'm going to try the haloband. @anemoneprose - Unfortunately my hair's not long enough for a bun yet. And when I'm working out, I'm almost always wearing boxing gloves, which makes wiping my face ridiculously complicated ;)

Fish oil, lower levels of meats, and higher fiber are all good suggestions. Another thing that may help is plant stanols. You can buy them as a supplement called CholestOFF by Nature Made. It may also just be a genetic thing, which can't be affected much by diet and exercise unfortunately. In my case, my doctor noted that…

I hear you on the early mornings! I leave at 5:30 most mornings. My breakfasts of choice: breakfast sandwiches (english muffin, egg, cheese, sausage -- which you can actually make in advance and freeze, then reheat in the morning, or just buy already frozen ones), homemade muffins, and lately I've been eating waffles that…

I used to go around 7 or 8 when it was emptying out again. Nobody will look at…

Thanks for the recommendations, spartacus69! Ideally, I'd prefer for the gym to be in the Silver Spring/Bethesda area, but I'd consider Northern Virginia if I really liked the gym. I'll definitely check out those websites - the Gracie affiliate in particular looks awesome.

I'm more familiar with Navy standards, but try this link: http://www.army-fitness.com It looks like the Army equivalent of the site I reference for Navy PRT scoring.
