Just keep in mind that weight and gender affects amount burned per minute of exercise

I love using my wii for losing weight, the gym has never worked for me and I tend to want to exercise at 10pm after I work, eat dinner and relax a little, so it is really convenient. I belong to the MFP group Wii Fit 4 Life "http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/515-wii-fit-4-life" and would love more people to talk to…

I use the Wii Just Dance 2 and calculate calories by using the website http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc to calculate all kinds of activities. Also MFP has a few dance options for exercise already and I use that too

I think you look healthier in the "curvy" pic. I know that magazines give women the message that you need to be a bone to attract a guy, but really they prefer curves.

Thanks for starting this discussion and to everyone who contributed!

When you begin with MFP you entered your current weight, current normal daily activity level, and weight loss goal. MFP calculated based on this info how many calories you should eat (at a deficit) to lose weight WITHOUT additional exercise. So when you exercise (lets say you burned 100 calories exercising) the calorie…

Great news!! I am impressed, this is my first holiday using MFP to lose weight and I ate way over my alotted calories and was actually trying to watch it!! It really is hard, but not impossible as you have proven. Keep up the great work

I understand what you are saying and feel the same way. I have been having internal conversations about this issue for the last few weeks. What I am reminding myself is that we will falter and it is not the end of the world or the end of your journey. I am new to MFP and was three weeks in, doing great staying within my…

Not sure if my deficit is too large, I am down to 1470 and was doing fine with that until I couldn't exercise as much, now I don't get the calorie credits like I did the last few weeks.

Good advice thanks!! I haven't traditionally eaten alot of veggies, but trying to increase.

I don't think of it as a diet at all. I consider it a lifestyle change. A diet tells you what you can and can not eat. Using MFP has made me reconsider certain foods, have less of a high calorie food, and it has encouraged me to exercise a little more if I ate some high calorie item, but it has not made me feel deprived at…

I haven't ever been successful at committing to a gym membership. I have been using my Wii, doing Dance Dance revolution, Wii Fit Plus, and Just Dance; I have been listening to the radio and walking up/down stairs in my home, going for a walk around my neighborhood or during my lunch hour at work. There are lots of fitness…

Hi I have just started 2 weeks ago and I am doing the same, I use Wii Fit Plus for weight tracking and sometimes daily exercise. I am also using Dance Dance Revolution and Just Dance for exercise. I have committed to doing at least 10 minutes each day of exercise. It has worked so far.

I just started on MFP and made a commitment to exercise every day for 10 minutes. I have found that more often than not I will be tired and not want to exercise at all, but because my commitment is ONLY 10 minutes then I get off my butt and will start to exercise and once I begin I keep going! Tonight I didn't want to…

Yay glad it worked : )

This information was found on the LIVESTRONG website: In 2007, researchers from the La Crosse Exercise and Health Program at the University of Wisconsin studied the health benefits of Dance Dance Revolution. The research found that DDR players burned an average of 5.9 calories per minute when playing "light mode." Players…
