  • Looks like every night is a cheat night!
  • That sounds like a really good idea! Hopefully MFP take it on board, On a side note: what app do you use?
  • I'm doing some elimination testing to see what does and doesnt go with my body. So I keep my private because I'm sure people want to hear about stomach issues... just sayin'.
  • I didn't, but the theory was explain to me (some what) by my doctor. He said that if the antibodies show up in a thyroid test then there may be links to other issues like coeliac disease. However, I'm not a doctor and someone may have a better idea than me.
  • I've done over 1,000km this year on a road bike and it's certainly made a difference. However the fitter I get on the big the more muscular my legs and I've found that I can no longer fit into the shorts I used to wear last summer! 6 miles would certainly help someone who is trying to get fit or regain some fitness. But at…
  • You should post these earlier for those of us who live in Australia!! I would only have 6 hours to do this - or 5 if i lived in another state with day light savings!!
  • I'm not an expert on how many calories you should be eating, but 1,200 is a general guide. To be honest, your bf is a idiot if he thinks that a person can survive on a banana alone. Starvation mode exists. It occurs when the body does not get the required nutrition to function.
  • Well done! Good to hear some success stories!
  • Well that would all depend on the type of exercise you do. The body needs to repair and restore therefore having a higher demand for things like protein. You can't eat less and be a marathon runner. However, if you're doing mild strength or cardio then perhaps you need to re-think how much you're eating. The higher the…
  • My TSH is sky high too. And all I want to do is sleep at lunch so sounds like we're very similar! Looking forward to what comes next. Can't wait to get back on my bike!! What kind of supplements are you taking?
  • I'm waiting on test results, but my doctor is certain that I have an adrenal problem which is causing subclinical hypothyroidism. She's already suggested I go on a completely Paleo style diet - limit carbs and no dairy. However, in the meantime I get to sit and wait for my tests results. For me I used to be highly active -…
  • Yum! I personally wouldn't try to replicate the chicken nugget! You're far better off trying to make a healthier version that suits you! My BF works in a meat processing factory which makes a lot of fast food products and while chicken nuggets are made of chicken, you don't want to see the fillers etc that gets put into a…
  • Try to add some more protein to your lunches. Beans are a great idea. Try google-ing some three bean mixes or make some tabouleh with quinoa instead of buckwheat. Add some tuna or lean chicken and it's a pretty easy lunch. Add some flavours to your salads - garlic, rosemary, herbs, spices. Even leaves of basil or fennel?…
  • Possibly. ProActive is just a bandaid solution to the root cause of the acne. If you notice, if you use a coloured towel after washing your face with ProActive, it bleaches out the colour off the towel. Do you really want to be putting that stuff on your face? Some people are also allergic to it. After 3 days of using it,…
  • Yep. The peroxide in ProActive bleaches the skin, so of course when you stop using it, it's going to come back. I now use an antibacterial wash called Phisohex. Use it not only on my face but neck and chest too, to help stop those sweat pimples.
  • I bought a road bicycle and hit the hills....
  • Seems like we're a pretty common bunch. I was diagnosed 3 months ago as hypo and have a long family history of it. I've managed to get my levels right but also have just been told I also have adrenal hormone issues. So I want to sleep at random times of the day - not at night when I want to. Makes it very difficult to…
