I just saw ads for these. Did you have any other device before? I'm thinking about switching from fitbit to one of these, but I wanted more insight on it first!

I hope you don't have silk sheets too! Whoosh off the bed ;)

Third month in a row that I've gotten my lady time after a 6 month hiatus. Take that PCOS.

Cannot wait for this. Congrats! :)

Bahaha this is why I eat oranges. My sister peels them for me :D

I don't think it does because from my experience I said I wanted to lose 2lbs a week which put me at 1200 calories, but at 1200 calories (due to my height) I only lose about 1.2 lbs per week. I have lost almost 20lbs and the number of calories MFP gives me has never changed. Using a TDEE calculator like this one -…

Thank you for the alternatives!

Thank you.

Haha yes! Exactly this :) I'm up closer toward Lake Ontario, definitely "the sticks"

I use the Pregnitude powder packets (myo-inositol and folic acid). I found them from Walgreens, but I'm not sure if that is available to you. I know others use different powders, etc. The packets are very convenient, but probably more costly in the long run. Personally I think it is helping me, but I have only been using…

One of my friends has celiacs and he is pretty happy about the increase in labeling. Obviously some things seem like 'gluten free common sense,' but in general it has been helpful for him to have foods more available in more grocery stores too in our rural area because of the increasing popularity of gluten free.

I take Vitex and the Pregnitude supplements, it has myo-inositol with folic acid. I also take a regular multi vitamin. This is what seems to work for me so far. I tried taking the maca root a couple of times and the most recent time I ended up going to the Dr.'s because I had a yeast infection. I have no idea if it was…

NY, but not NYC ;)

I like tracking my weight daily, but it was a big thing for me at first to get over the rising and falling numbers. Most of the time they stay very similar which makes me feel like no progress has been made. I find it makes me feel better and see the larger picture to look at the data on a 30 day scale compared to the 7…

4 foot 10 :) The only reason I'd rather be taller is so my jeans don't need to be hemmed. Getting up on the chairs to see in the cabinets is good exercise :P

This sounds like a good compromise. Choose one bad habit and make juice out of it. I couldn't imagine functioning on just drinking juice all day long. I'd get hangry after the first 12 hours.

I really enjoy Leslie Sansone's Walking at Home workouts. I don't have enough coordination for the dance workout DVDS and I get confused with the moves lol I also find that doing squats, push ups, and sit ups is helpful in terms of increasing strength. I don't do many, but over time I have been able to do more :)

Made it to 10,000 steps again finally yesterday. Time to get back on my streak :)

I couldn't jog more than half a mile because I would get such bad shin splints. I went to get fitted for shoes because I was convinced it must be that. I did get new shoes, but I still get shin splints if I don't do this stretch that they showed me at the shoe store. Here is a video that goes over the stretch that I was…

This is very relatable. At 4 foot 10, it took me a minute to step back and realize that losing 2lbs a week wasn't a possibility that would make me happy or make me healthier anyways. Slow and steady. I think of my weight loss as the tortoise and the hare story. It helps a bit haha, maybe by beginning to realize that it…

It sucks, but until you understand that the healthy ways to lose weight is not the fastest then you probably won't be able to sustain through the weight loss process or maintain once you reach your goal. I thought I'd be done losing weight in 3 months. Then I realized it'd probably be closer to a year if I was going to do…

I had previously worked at a fast paced grocery store and had my maintenance down to a science without even realizing it. I was very much in a routine. Then I graduated from graduate school and got a job in my field where I sit at a desk all day long alone in building where we help people get back on their feet. People are…

This is a great piece of advice. I bought my first pair of running shoes recently (Brooks) and they helped tremendously compared to the random fashion sneakers I had been using. Going to a running store can be beneficial on many levels. My gait was checked and I discussed how I had horrible shin splints so I was shown a…

Totally agree with cheese as a snack, it's been my go to lately and definitely helps with cravings and makes me feel satiated. The sandwich options go against common mindsets, but they all end up tasting great and help to make meals more creative in a sense. I enjoy my hamburgers with a slice of cheese on top (essentially…

Depending on the kind that you get Greek Yogurt has a little more bit to it's taste and it is thicker. I think that regular yogurt feels like mucus and I hate having it in my mouth, but Greek yogurt is heavy enough in taste that it gets rid of that for me. I would recommend trying a fruity flavor to try it out though, the…

Yogurt feels like weird mucus and I hate crunchy things.

Best way to start off the New Year beating PCOS blues, I started my time of the month for the first time in 6 months. Super excited, although feeling the pain haha

I've been on since September 2014. Most of what I have learned is that slow and steady is the only way I would be able to keep going. It isn't a race to lose the weight as fast as possible. It's a competition with yourself to figure how to become the person you want to be which takes time and patience. This is also…

Totally agree with this. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 3 years now and for about 3 months a couple years ago I did go total vegan. It made me feel better, but I think that was more because of the weight loss rather than the food choices I made. It also was not sustainable at all. This time around I have been…
