  • Thanks @heybales for the reponse regarding the BF% I just entered the value I know from the caliper test Regarding setting MFP, do you mean to increase calories intake to 1450 (250 higher than now) ? That should result in 0.5 lb/week correct? I am still puzzled why my current deficit of 500 is giving results of 250. I…
  • OK so I will be 35 in a month I drink 80 oz of water a day I used to have cheat days but I stopped hoping it would fix things I do not know the calorie break down of the meals, I just know they are a total of 1200 Myfitnesspal recommends 1200 for 1lb/week loss Mamapeach: I would open my diary but I haven't been logging the…
  • The meals I get are made fresh daily, I don't think they would have more sodium than a home cooked meal. Regarding the exercise thing, it's a time issue not ability. I agree my calorie intake is probably wrong, but should I increase it or decrease it is the question I see a lot of people say they lose weight after they…
  • I found a recipe here for a single serving devil's food cake for ~150 calories If I'm craving sweets I budget enough calories for it and just enjoy it, and since it's single portion I don't have to worry about eating a whole cake :yum:
  • Ahh Pump, fun times. If your gym offers Body Combat give it a try, it's really fun
  • Are you referring to MrM27's q?
  • LOL yeah I know not very trustworthy when they are trying to push their products. Here's a more legitimate one http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1550413112004536
  • That's actually a good question, when you put it that way it makes me ever more confused LOL Anyway here's what I understood from reading about the excess insulin. CICO principle should always hold right? OK so when you ingest food your body release insulin (too much ), and although the insulin restores glycogen storage,…
  • In theory they are not supposed to, and if it happens its probably not from the thyroid issue. Like I said PCOS and hyperinsulinemia are more complicated. How the body responds to sugar levels (in blood) in these conditions is very different from a healthy person. The body produces way more insulin that it should in…
  • No, if you get treated and the blood tests shows the thyroid functioning at a normal level that pretty much puts you on par with someone who does not have hypothyroidism. PCOS and insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are more complicated The point is, if someone has any of the conditions above but they are not aware and…
  • I find it really strange that these posts are being flagged, nothing inappropriate have been said. Do people actually just do things like this out of spite?
  • Here's my suggestion, cook your own meals for at least a week and see if things change. You said you weigh things, so you do own a food scale. Great, use it. Weigh everything that goes into a meal and make a recipe out of it, don't eat at restaurants for this week to eliminate any guessing. Restaurant foods are notorious…
  • I had that "problem" when I first got back to MFP, now I struggle not to go over 1400-1500 especially on rest days. Whenever I do strength training I wake up hungry the next day, so it will probably get better as you get more active. Btw, it seems like you'd be really skinny if you lose 22 lbs. What are your stats and…
  • It would be more efficient weight loss if you start strength training now. It is easier for you to maintain muscle mass now than to lose it and re-build it later, especially for a female
  • Well It's already your cheat day so just enjoy it. Although the wings will probably have lots of sodium and make you retain water, I'd watch out for the beer. You can probably drink more calories in beer than you can eat in wings
  • LOL!! I didn't even notice this thread is a year old :wtf:
  • Well to answer your question, weight training does retain water especially at first during muscle repair and breakdown and the fact is is something new. Honestly though, with that little to lose, it takes a while. It is completely normal to lose 0.5-1 lbs a week when you don't have much to lose. Definitely take…
  • Body attack is another Les Mills workout but it does not involve weights, it's high energy cardio type. When you say stalled, how much weight have you been losing per week? and how much do you want to lose? what are your stats
  • Looks like you are going through re-comp and the results are amazing by the way. First, while building muscle or weight training in general your body will retain water. Second, you are relatively close to a "healthy" weight so a 0.5-1 lbs loss a week is perfectly normal
  • OK so maybe not pausing is better. Interesting enough when I did my calculation based on the formula posted by @heybales I was working between 5 and 6 METS Thanks everyone for your input
  • got it, thanks :D I'll also follow @blazepurr idea and pause, should get a more accurate estimate and log even lower than that to be on the safe side
  • I only see that option under the cardio exercises, and when I search the database it gives me an estimate of how I'd burn but won't let me add it to my diary. I guess it doesn't matter as long as I add the calories, I'm just wondering if I'm not getting how to use the exercise diary I suppose you're also right about amount…
  • Yes people who gain weight know it, but there's also this thing called denial!! I remember a period where the battery of my scale died and I didn't weigh myself for 2 months and I gained a lot. I didn't "really" admit it to myself until I wanted to go out with my family and I couldn't fit in a dress that 2 months prior was…
  • Yes what the above poster said, only thing it's good for is watching trend and even that is not very reliable. Just as an example, My scales gives me a reading that is 12% higher than my skin fold test :o
