  • @Blu3Hea7en This is a common complaint that we see in the clinic. As people have posted above, it is usually associated with Vit B deficiency, riboflavin in particular. A Vit B complex supplement is advised. If the problem persist you should see a doctor
  • It can be fun experimenting with new flours to make desserts. I too don't like coconut much but I used it to make cookies, carrot cake with coconut frosting and it is delicious. Do you like butter? I personally love it and it is what I use instead of coconut oil. I suggest you make a list of what you like to eat and see…
  • @pippacorcoran when periods stop it is usually hormone imbalance, you should definitely see a doctor. The odd thing is weight loss usually improves this. There's this nutritionist on youtube https://www.youtube.com/user/healthfulpursuit who had amenorrhea and her period finally returned after she started eating LCHF. Like…
  • I sometimes get something similar conversing with patients - I'm a dentist Me: this tooth needs to come out it is badly damaged patient: but I don't want to have an ugly space there Me: we can replace it with an implant, a bridge, or a denture patient: but I can't afford any of that Me: your insurance covers the dentures…
  • @Sunny_Bunny_ Thank you, that makes sense. I also use Libra but I don't know how to make graphs like that! @nvmomketo the reason I lowred from 50 to 30 was because I wasn't losing on 50 and with the help of wonderful people here it was suggested that I lower it because might be carb sensitive especially since I am IR. I…
  • @wabmester @deksgrl Thank you :)
  • @wabmester I have few questions. How can this be applied or used to guide sedentary people who want to start exercising? i.e what approach would get me the most fat loss without adverse effects? Also, earlier in the thread you did some calculation with VO2 and you concluded for a LC to burn 1lb (450g) of fat they need 4.5…
  • Good job! 2.5 minutes is actually good. I remember I couldn't even do a minute the first time I tried  There's an app that can help you train to increase your jogging intervals, It's called C25K I don't know f you heard of it but it is supposed to train you to do a 5k
  • @auntstephie321 @MEG924 I'm curious, can you explain why exercise slows down weight loss?
  • @erinseattle I had it measured 3 times over the past 3 years by a trainer using a caliper method that uses 20 points or areas of the body. I realize it seems like a lot but I think the heavier a person gets the more muscle they put on to compensate for the weight and carry the load. I was 220 lbs at my heaviest and for…
  • Thank you all for your responses and suggestions. @dmedoff @DaniTronMcNally I looked at your diary and it seems very doable for me  @FIT_Goat it seems I am a poster child for what can go wrong following SAD. I do appreciate your suggestions, I think 30 is very doable especially if I don't worry so much about my 110g…
  • @Sunny_Bunny_ my calories range between 1200-1500 but mostly avg around 1300. My fat intake is ranges from 60-70g. I did stock up on skinless chicken breast before I started all of this so eating lean meat is probably not helping
  • @FIT_Goat diabetes runs in my family, I am prediabetic. My blood glucose always comes out normal but I do have insulin resistance and I am on metformin for metabolic syndrome. I don't remember my cholesterol and triglycerides levels but I know that TG, total cholesterol and LDL were borderline high while HDL was low. I can…
  • I did stop the desserts but my weight still won't budge. My issue with the calculator is at 10% C, 25% P, 65% F which is 32g, 80g, 95g respectively is not enough food for me to be full. With these macros I always go above the recommended protein
  • While I think people will want and appreciate your help, especially if they see your progress, I agree with sunny_bunny that having credentials is a good idea. You can always help friends and family while studying to be a nutritionist. A friend of mine is a trainer and she got certified as a sports nutritionist online.
  • you're right he is pro veggies, in his book he has veggies accounting for half of the space on a plate of food. I was actually thinking about that after watching a video Erin (erinseattle) shared. If increased body fat % causes insulin resistance and consequently fat storage, then doesn't losing body fat alleviates insulin…
  • My diet is better than yours is what actually made me think of going LC again after many years of doing low calorie and low fat. I did have success on CICO (-50lbs) but I've been in the same 3lbs range for 3 years now and it seems even with weight loss my waist is still not changing much. To be totally honest the main…
  • Thank you all and than you Erin for that video, although I had a reasonable understanding on the LCD, it did clarify some things that I did not know. I do have another question, what do you do to increase your fat intake (I don't eat bacon or pork products)? I usually use 2-3 Tbsp of butter for cooking, butter makes…
  • So how many days of weighing the same before you consider it maintenance?
  • No it's not close to that time yet
  • Try and get your BF% re-tested with a caliper, your gym probably has people that can do that. I personally know my BF% and I find this calculator to give the closest reading http://www.fat2fittools.com/tools/cbbf/ Good luck
  • @xkime I know exactly what you're going through because I just did the same thing! oh well there's always tomorrow..... except I have an appointment with my dietician tomorrow
  • I'm 5'0.5" and currently losing on ~1450 ( currently I weigh 161 lbs) I use MFP method though and not TDEE because my workout schedule and daily activity is very inconsistent, if I go over my calories I just exercise enough to reach my goal ( Im lazy, don't judge me  ) I find it funny and annoying that when I was on…
  • @castrofreak I posted a chicken pizza in the recipe boards earlier, it's really good and so easy It is over 500 cal but high in protein and will keep you full for a while
  • Not everyone needs a full body lift, some people only needs arm lifts or tummy tuck and some people are fine without surgery. It does depend on how much weight you lost, how fast, your skin type, your age and a bunch of other factors. The cost varies greatly depending on where you are, for example the same procedure (arm…
  • @emmiebaby Ingridients: Sargento - Cheese - Natural Pepper Jack Avocados - Raw, 50 g Trader Joes - Habanero Lime Flour Tortilla, 1 tortilla Stubb's - Original Barbecue Sauce, 32 g (2 tbsp) Meat - Chicken Breasts Boneless Skinless, 7.5 oz Red onions I coocked the chicken by adding it to a pot of boiling water with garlic…
  • If you mean sugar and not carbs I have one for you, Chicken "Pizza" 58 g protein 34 carbs 20 fat 5 sugars
  • I can relate to your situation, whenever I am stuck 3 things usually work for me. 1 For one week, I take a break from dieting by eating at maintenance and limit exercising to long walks 2 change up my exercise routine 3 I start experimenting with calorie intake until I reach a deficit that gets me 0.5 lb - 1 lbs a week…
