Used to live in Boone, NC. Appalachian Ski Mtn, Hawks Nest, Sugar Mtn and Beech Mtn are all great locales for skiing. Non-skiers can visit Blowing Rock and Banner Elk for some good shopping, not to mention Boone itself. Great people, too.
