Thank you ladies. I just thought that since my will power and my increase in hunger and cravings have become worse, it is probably due to being in early menopause. I never had a problem before. Not this bad, anyway. I'm gonna precook some burritos. Beef with beans, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers; and chicken, with the same.…

I agree. Different strokes for different folks. You don't like big butts, don't date a girl with a big butt. She will find someone who does like her big butt.
-
I don't think you realize that some of us have a naturally big butt. You hurt me bad, real bad!
-
Yes. My only problem is that I tend to overeat on junk food, and that is what causes weight gain. I have hunger issues because of all the empty calories, which is why I try my best to eat at least 80% healthy, and 20% junk, while not blowing my calorie limit.

The only secret I know is that if you hear that word in a sales pitch, don't buy it. You just have to eat less and/or exercise more. The key to hunger is to eat more protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. But don't forget to save a little room for indulgences, otherwise, if you go cold turkey, you might wind up at an…

Dang! You sound like me. Black girls used to tell me I have a ghetto butt. Kids made fun of girls with big butts when I was in high school, but now it's all the rage. I was born in the wrong decade I guess.

The problem I have is wanting something sweet at night, after my husband says he is too tired for sex, and reading a book just don't do it for me. I need some kind of pleasure substitute. Beer and wine has calories, and I don't do drugs. Sorry to add to you question OP instead of offering a solution.

If only the scale would tell you what was water, salt retention, bloating, fat loss, fat gain, muscle loss, muscle gain, etc.
-
Well, this is just a guess, but you say you dropped 5 pds before you left. Could that of been mostly water weight from having less salt, carbs, etc, and then you just put that water weight back on during the vacation, and then maybe after that, you just ate at maintenance and didn't realize it, cause you were having such a…

I love these ideas! I once read a book called the carb addicts diet, and it tells of a man who loved some kind of chocolate truffles or something like that, and he would have one after he finished his dinner, and he said that it satisfied him, knowing that he could have that piece of candy everyday, that he actually looked…

thank you. I will do that.

I love these message boards. Real people keeping it real. You know you can count on someone when there's no money involved. I love it!

Thanks WinoGelato. That's what I thought. Usually, when I read an article from the latest guru, which in this case, is Dr. Axe, it sounds so convincing and believable, but at the end, he tries to push supplements. I get so tired of these kinds of people, that I should just stop listening to them, correct?

Ok, I'm back on. You guys are the best. It's good to know that so many of you still eat delicious foods, and still lose weight. I would hate to know that I had to eat grilled chicken and broccoli every day, oh, and a salad with low cal dressing. Not that there's anything wrong with those foods, but I'm not usually in the…

If I don't reply anymore tonight, I will take it back up tomorrow. It's getting late, and the bus comes at 6:30 in the morning. I appreciate any and all comments.

Yeah, like when I decide to eat a bowl of frosted flakes. There is no freaking way that I can get filled up on a one or even two servings of it, plus the milk too. These serving sizes aren't even enough for a toddler, let alone a grown up.
-
yeah, I'd like to know that answer too. Thanks.

I used to drink a lot of water on my job, but I almost got fired because I had to go pee so much. Now I just drink when I'm thirsty. Makes more sense that way.

I think that in terms of fat loss, they would lose the same amount of weight, but I believe the non clean eating person would retain more water, sodium, etc, and therefore the scale may show different. At least for the first few weeks maybe.
-
I think what she meant is that bad carbs, ie. ding dongs, twinkies, donuts, etc., cause you to WANT to eat more because they are simple sugars and not very filling at all. I could eat a whole box of Krispy Kreme donuts and not even bat an eyelash, but if I eat complex carbs like broccoli, or whatever, it's hard to OD on…

Are you kidding? I'm like the WAKING DEAD in the morning until I have my coffee! Yes, yes, I absolutely have to have my coffee every morning. Two cups with sweet and low and cream. It adds up to 100 calories for me, and it's well worth it.
-
what she said!
-
I was wondering that myself. I saw where somebody responded with that word when someone else said that somebody said that low carb is the way to lose weight.
-
first of all, your wife is very lucky to have a husband as loving and caring as you are. It warms my heart to hear this. I'm also doing 1200 calories per day, as I am only 5'3. The only time I got dizzy is when I tried to do the atkins diet. I think it made my blood sugar too low or something. Anyways, tell her to focus on…

I don't have cheat meals, but I do make room for about 300 calories worth of junk everyday. Usually a 150 calorie pack of doritoes, cheetos, chilli cheese fritos, or sour cream and onion Lays. Also I may have a 90 calorie snickers bar or a fiber brownie from walmart (great value) brand for 90 delicious calories.
-
Laughing out loud! Well, it might be that since you know you can't eat a TON of junk at one time anymore, you somehow make yourself dream about it! It's kinda like knowing you can't have Johnny Depp, but hey, you can dream about him!
-
well heck yeah I'm serious. We've got it made compared to the caveman days, or whatever you want to call it.
-
Oh lawd, I'd be off that diet the same day I started. Thank God we don't have to really live like that anymore. I'm also glad we don't have to run away from dinosaurs all day. But could you imagine how many calories we would burn from running like mad?
-
you're welcome. Very easy to throw together, too. Not a lot of heavy cooking involved.

have you ever eaten a breakfast/supper? 2 whole eggs, anyway you want them, is 140 calories. I use PAM to coat the pan. Add 1 slice of cheese for 60 calories. Turkey bacon is 25 calories per slice, or you could have 1 piece of pig bacon, and I believe but not sure that it is under 100 calories for one slice.
