I've gone through diet phases when I had great success in losing weight and completely cut out the alcohol and partying. But there was no balance there so it was not sustainable and I'd end up putting the weight back on as soon as I started going out again. This go around, I am not attempting to completely avoid going out.…

Why are we still responding to a thread this old?

I was told I was fat when I weighed 145 lbs at age 18 (5'6") - have been yo yo-ing for the fourteen years since. Tough lesson learned about knowing when to listen to people versus ignore them.

It sounds like I should stick with my Garmin Forerunner for working out since it tracks pace, distance, etc. very well and then add a Fitbit for the non-workout activities so I can get a little more inspired about walking and track sleep. Thanks for the input everyone!

I want to track: - Activity and calories expenditures; - Replace the functionality of my Garmin nav watch (not interested in wearing two devices for a workout); - Have seen that some track sleep patterns which I am interested in; - Step counts I don't even know what features are offered on the various devices on the…

Why are there no gifs in this thread? This thread needs gifs.

Doubt Phoenix goes that way Edit: I don't go that way either

Actually, I think hopping on a treadmill and sweating it off might fix said issue (if one really considers 300 over an issue)

I am saving all the money that I would have otherwise spent eating out and at bars (no small sum) and will use it to buy a new wardrobe :)

Have any recommended sources/articles to read up on this? I've had the same questions for my own situation. Thanks!

I just need to cut haha

Truffle Shuffling my way out of this thread....y'all are making me hungry!

What is currently working: - Counting my calories - IIFYM and not feeling guilty about eating some yummy foods or having the occasional cocktails - Going to the doctor to diagnose my anemia and vitamin deficiencies so I can now manage them (no wonder I was so tired!) - Sharing my successes with MFP friends - Exercising in…

I am 5'6" and started out around where you are so I can relate. I eat around 1200 but bump it up to 1400-1500 on days when I exercise (walk/jog) which is most days. I don't cry over the days when I want something tasty and go over. Sounds like we are on similar paths so please feel free to add me.

Looking good!

I think it is time to give TC a break here, guys. I don't think his post is all that different from all the (oh so many) threads that get started where people have running challenges, lose weight by Christmas challenges, etc. I don't see any ill intent in the original post. Time to cut him some slack and move on I hope.

Amen!

I'm shooting for 128 which was a former weight that I was very comfortable with

Love this! I am in the same boat....gradually building up speed and thrilled with the results

Feel free to add me - am not in your area but pretty active on this site and dedicated to sticking with it this time.

The struggle is real! I'm sure it's tough when your routine gets disrupted, that is usually when I fall off the wagon too. Just try not to let it get any worse eating-wise while you get the exercise sorted. Would be a shame to lose the progress you've made.

I didn't have a good run this morning and stopped after just a mile. My energy built up all day and the. I got back out there for another run and added on another 2 miles. Old me never would have considered going for a second attempt in the same day.

Would love to be the 18-20 but have a lot of work to get there..... Hoping MFP can help me get it sorted out!

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! There are a number of ideas on here that I haven't thought about before....I can do chicken liver, but no horse meat for this chica

Just made my diary public (I think) - try and go easy on me.....some of the board threads seem to get out of hand :)

Bump to mark my place - long time Loser-And-Re-Gainer here, so this advice is extremely helpful!

Thanks for clarifying! I picked my diet back up a few weeks ago after having taken a ~6 month hiatus and am starting to fit back into some of the size 6 dresses I had bought when I was in shape before. Feeling good!
