  • Low Carb Lifestyle? YES! Ketosis a bad thing? NO! I used Ketosis to lose significant weight, and eat low carb to maintain. I just love how some people think they are experts (slow eye-roll). Good luck with your decision, Toni
  • I echo what Kevin said. I was on a VLCD for a year. 800-840 calories/day. Liquid. Medically supervised. I went from obese to a normal weight/BMI. Good luck!
  • Bossy...you're after my own heart!
  • I felt the same way you did. Then my doctor said on my high-protein diet, "you need to drink half your weight in ounces each day of PURE water" I couldn't have lemon, lime, crystal light, nothing. I would force myself and guzzle it. Today, I still drink that much water (I'm maintaining my weight loss) and I actually CRAVE…
  • All weight that comes off is permanent no matter how it's lost. As long as you can maintain it. Cheers!
  • There are people who don't support low carb? Wow! I did a very low calorie diet (low carb) and lost 95 pounds. I love the low carb lifestyle. I eat LOTS of salad, fish, chicken, seafood, veggies, and fruit (in moderation). I feel the best I've felt in a few decades. Do what YOU think will work for YOU and you'll have all…
  • I have had great success on my very low calorie (liquid) diet. However, it was through a hospital with supervision, monthly lab work, counseling and classes. I have transitioned to food. I think you need support above anything! It's not for everyone, but it is an attractive method of dieting for some (myself included!)…
  • How about a refurbished MP3 player on eBay? Maybe an older generation iPod? Also check your local Craiglist listings. Good luck!
  • I could have written your post. If *I* can exercise, girl you can too! I keep it soooooo simple! I am ***committed*** to walking 5 days a week. Be it outdoors or on my treadmill. If I tried to do the Wii, or PBox, Shred, etc...I would just set myself up for failure. Just know yourself and YOU have to decide that you WANT…
  • I am on a VLCD, and transitioning to food. My diet is medically supervised through a hospital. My caloric intake on phase one was 8-900 calories daily. I think 500 is dangerous. Good luck!
  • As someone who is on a doctor-supervised, with medical care (labs, etc) diet that is low carb and very low calorie (ketosis-invoking) diet, I would say not to mention anything to her, since you may not know the circumstances. Unless you know her personally and think she is in danger, then you make the call. Great thread,…
  • I have to "third" the Sabra brand. I get it at Costco, but I believe it's in many supermarkets. ENJOY!
