I think it's Carl and he's the only one I wouldn't be that sad to see go. I think it's that stupid hat...it was cute when he was a kid, but he's a teenager now! :s

I completely get what you're saying. When I started back squatting, if felt uncomfortable on my trap area, even though I have traps and I was doing it right. It would literally feel bruised for days. You're body adjusts though and it will stop hurting. Just stick it out for a couple weeks and you'll see what I mean.

I never add sugar to my coffee, drink any beverage (besides protein shakes) that contain calories, and don't allow chips (outside of tortilla) inside my house. I banned cereal for awhile too, but have gotten better with that ;).

What does Orange Theory Fitness entail? My guess is that the resistance isn't high enough to build any more muscle. You have to keep progressing (in weight and/or reps) in order to build muscle. My recommendation for body recomp (which is essentially what you seem to be trying to do) is 4 days of heavy lifting and two days…

Take your boots to a shoe repair shop or high end boot store and have them stretched so that they will fit your calves :).

I put mine on a baking sheet covered with foil and bake them for 10 minutes at 375. I like them a little on the drier side and this does the trick ;).

You're paying him for one day a week, so you should only expect guidance one day a week. Outside of that, it sounds like this trainer might not be a good fit for you. Since you're already in great shape (17% bf!), I'd be looking for a former/current competitor who trains clients. That's kinda the stage your at...already in…

The mirror, mostly. I'm even more motivated when I start seeing positive changes from all the hard work I've put in...and that keeps me moving forward.

I never used to workout. I didn't think I liked it either - because I never really tried it. I think the key is finding something you enjoy (walking, running, lifting, aerobics, zumba, boxing, dancing, swimming, biking, pilates...the options are endless). You don't have to workout to lose weight, but I promise you'll feel…

Maybe I'm being completely naive, but I wouldn't think a whole lot if a black guy had a black pride tattoo. I'd just think that he was proud of his race.

I have the MetRX protein pancake mix and am loving it! I can deal with the cravings, but I start feeling like crap when my carbs get too low and my training suffers. I'm still trying to find the right balance :) .
-
You can @carmenrosa...you should have seen my stick arms four year ago ;) . Keep up the good work!
-
I'll add that if you've lost weight, you'll burn less too. You'll need to adjust you BMR every 10 lbs or so ;).
-
I'm also 500 below maintanece, but fats should probably be higher. I also want to eat my own arm!!! There is a gigantic birthday cake at work that keeps mocking me as I walk by... :p
-
Yes, in the regard that I'm on a cut cycle and keep my carbs pretty low 3 days on 1 day off. Whetever you're doing, it looks like you're doing it right!

Your liver and kidneys. Done.

Try eating an extra 200 calories before your workout tomorrow (I'd suggest a complex carb and some protein). If the issue resolves, it was due to your intake being too low. I'd bet $100 that's what's going on. If the issue doesn't resolve, then blood work.

The correct answer: Do what works for you. You've just begun to change your diet, so see how you feel after a week. If you want a cheesburger, pizza, or whatever, then eat it but make it fit into your alloted calories for the day. Or, eat at maintenance level one day per week if you're feeling a bit deprived. Different…

Eat a bunch of protein...that'll make you go ;).

You have to want the weight loss more than you want the extra food. When you really want it, change will happen.

You could just keep asking him to soop your ice cream and open your jars even though you can do it yourself.

I find them in store. Wal-mart doesn't have all the varieties, so I use Amazon for anything I can't find in the store. They have bacon ranch though :).
-
I like them! The bacon ranch dressing is really good. It tastes "diet", but for zero calories that's what I was expecting. I get their products from Wal-Mart. Amazon sells them too.

I pay $23/month (weird amount) for a 24 hour key access gym with the best equipment around! They also have towel service and a free coffee & tea station. The only drawback is that it is small and sometimes I trip over the equipment and/or other memebers :p .

Proper shoes.

Oh my goodness, this sounds delightful! I'll make it for Sunday dinner!

If the question has to be asked...

Cereal never fills me up. In fact, it always leaves me hungrier. Try different foods. The key to feeling full is getting plenty of protein, fiber, fat, and the vitamins and minerals your body needs. Think yogurt, cottage cheese, lean meats, fruits, veggies, peanut butter (pb2), etc. I've found that I can feel satisfied,…

Google preacher curls. They will help take your shoulders out of the equation. Best of luck!

I just gained nearly 10 pounds in the last month. Today I'm getting back on track. I got married a month ago and then went on a honeymoon and ate and drank everything I wanted for nine days. I wanted to enjoy the experience. Then, when we got home I was used to eating more and actually feeling full after all my meals so…
