Not really. Actually it is science and I have lived it... I was 70 pounds over weight and diabetic.. and by changing eating habits, diet and working out I have turned this around. One of my biggest mistakes was not eating breakfast. Think about the logic... when you sleep you are fasting.. (8 hours or so of sleep)... which…

You should always eat breakfast. When you dont eat breakfast you are increasing the amount of time that your body is going without food. Therefore you are training it to starve. Which in turn will affect your metablism... as your body will feel the need to hord all the food and store it as FAT... which is what you DONT…

Nope.. but I have felt like I want to punch someone in the face. Does that count?

Stop complaining and start reading up on your facts about health and nutrition. You cant expect to have a 6 pack just with basic exercise and diet. There is such a thing as genetics... and if that isnt the issue maybe you need to shock your body. Try carb cycling and circuit training... try alternating aerobic and anerobic…

Well it depends on goals... In my opinion most people dont want to just lose weight. They want to lose weight and tone (tighten) their body. That being said I can not disagree more with the idea that exercise is not important. Here are my reasons: If you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight (assuming your macros…

Each week you have a varying activity level based on work, sleep, life... So no formula for caloric intake and burn can be perfect. Also, some weeks your body is in need of more repair and you have varying homronal levels... attributed to stress both mental and physical. If you can fluxuate you caloric intake to a range…

Well a calorie is a unit of measurement first off... it is the amount of energy released per unit mass of a given substance. With that being said.... I will say that a dead calorie (such as those given by booze) have a very low energy value so are deemed to be "dead". Fast burn calories with a lot of energy used up…

Well it depends on how you work out. Remember that activities like running are aerobic and that weight lifting is anaerobic. They both have uses and are utilized for different things. Aerobic is good for endurence and burning fat. Anaerobic is good for strength and size. Most athletes have to do both because doing any one…

Yes workout moderately. You should be teachig your body how you will be treating it and what to expect. Its not like reseting the clock on the microwave... You are teaching your body.. Reset is a BAD way to describe what you're trying to accomplish

I have to agree with the people that say to break up. Going to the gym is a personal thing. I see the fitness couples at the gym and they lift together on occassion. Not all the time. They also dont always come together and each has their own personal goals. So each strives for those. He sounds like he is too macho and has…

There may be several reasons for low energy: 1. Depression / Stress - if you are stressed out and have your mind in 10000 places at once.. you may be mentally draining yourself... 2. Too Few Calories - Count your macros and caloric intake. Also, look at the sources for your calories.... IF you're eating clean with good…

As a guy I think that its a sterotype that all guys at the gym should want to lift as heavy as possible to be huge and look like a UFC fighter. I find that the healthiest, most friendly and positive gym members arent the narsassistic MMA types... but rather the guys there for personal health and for stress relief... As a…

One COMMON misconception that MANY women have is that the scale is the best tool to guage progress.... Thats the same as saying a screw driver is the ONLY tool you need to work on a car... Sure you can use it at some points BUT there are MANY other tools at your disposal which are FAR better. First weight has NOTHING to do…

I have several tattoo's... Large ones and small ones... I have the idea that if a tattoo is meaningless and doesn't represent something significant in your life and beliefs.. then YES it is defiling the body and shouldn't be tattoo'd on forever. Such items would be flaming skulls and tribal tattoo's (although common, most…

I was shocked to see that something healthy like Salmon was 380 calories for a 6.6 oz piece of baked unseasoned salmon. However, I think we need to consider the source of the calories. I mean it is true the the Salmon has more caloies than a small Blizzard from DQ. BUT clearly the Salmon is better for you having more…

I can not speak to being poor in s rural area where you can grow food.. but I can speak to being poor in the inner city of Los Angeles. I know that many people I knew econimically were poor when looking at the amount of taxable income they would earn. However, they would aquire income under the table from other sources…

I would have to agree that your husband sounds immature and unsupportive. He is more than likely taking it out on you that he is unable to put on weight and you are concerned about losing it. So he is projecting his failure onto you. I think that if the TV is a big issue you should get a gym pass and go to the gym and let…
