  • I live in Vic and started parkrun back in 2014. Have done 11 different courses- Albert Park, Studley, Westerfolds, Chelsea BC, Jells, Diamond Creek and Mullum Mullum all in Vic. Burley Griffin in ACT, Kirra and Surfers Paradise in Qld and East Coast in Singapore. Plus freedom runs at Albury parkrun, Varsity Lakes and…
  • That sounds yummy actually, like congee but made with oats instead of rice.
  • Congratulations! What a great finishing time for your first half marathon. Amazing! I will be training for my first in the next few months but will be happy with somewhere between 2:05-2:15. Short distances are my happy place. I figure I will try something new for next year (turn 50 in January) and after that I am going to…
  • I find with maintaining that having a weekly caloric and a weekly fitness goal feels more freeing and less of a task than daily goals. It gives the flexibility to enjoy your weekends/downtime and than the other days you can be a bit more focused on staying on the maintenance track. It certainly becomes easier over time…
  • 35 kilos (about 74 pounds) and found I can run. Soon to turn 50 yo, and have achieved a sub 29 minute 5 km twice and a sub 59 minute 10 km once. Running another 10 km this weekend in the Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping for a sub 58 minute time. Also training for my first half marathon TBA Not bad for someone whose…
  • I just stick to an occasional Cookies and Cream Quest bar. Sometimes I heat it for 10 seconds in the microwave but I quite often eat it just as is. I find the extra chewing required to eat the unheated bar, more satisfying as it takes you longer to eat. Whilst, heating it makes it more flavoursome it makes it softer and…
  • Cold water immediately and than roll on hard surface. Have tried this method around 50 times or more and worked every single time, without fail. Easy peasy!
  • They look yummy! Bet they aren't available in Oz
  • Not fit for human consumption! but for pet lover's a nice treat for your dogs :)
  • Never seen it in a jar before either. I guess normal packaging is not reususble but glass is, so environmentally it makes sense. However, the jar tofu from the ingredients listed is not a "true" firm tofu as it doesn't list a firming agent (I think the additive is 511) or nigari compared to the second tofu, you showed.…
  • That is why I always have about 5 types of ice cream in my chest freezer at all times. Thankfully my youngest is now 19, so I can send him out to get more if I w̶a̶n̶t̶ NEED it :)
  • The oil spray I've used for years has always had nutritional info on it. Didn't take photo but it also says Ingredients: Olive Oil (65%), Butane, Propane. No way of measuring how much I use but I tend to overestimate rather than underestimate calories, so I am not fussed.
  • [/quote] How many obese people do you know that became fat from eating fruits and vegetables ((: If you're a healthy vegan, you can eat more to get proper nutrition. Another reason I and other vegans maintain easily is because it's impossible to overstuff yourself ( like I clearly stated, a weight gain amount of calories )…
  • Since rhabdomyolysis can have a genetic predisposition and it can be tested for with a dipstick in urine, it would not surprise me if contestants were tested prior the show for it. This would at least minimise the risk.
  • I went into maintenance back in May 2014 and at that time I estimated my TDEE to be around 1730-1750 after 11 months of dieting (no breaks). Two years later with very little change to purposeful exercise (incidental activity I believe has increased though) my TDEE is around 1850-1900. Maybe more, as I am losing weight…
  • I think a lot of people lose their belly fat last but do not necessarily carry most of their weight there. I lose weight off my belly last but from previous (albeit only calipers, so not very accurate) I am way leaner around my waist and torso than my limbs. I think most people notice belly fat more than other areas of fat…
  • Adding greek yogurt could increase the moistness, as well as add more protein. Could be a win-win. Carbonated water might help. Any other suggestion I can think of isn't low carb. Like mashed pumpkin, applesauce, or mashed banana.
  • The 2 times I have lost excessive hair has been when my diet was low in fat. Could this be an issue for you?
  • Thanks, blues4miles. I like that idea.
  • Banned? Are you sure? I thought they just discontinued them for awhile due to lack of sales/popularity. They were still sold at specialty shops like USA foods and are now regularly sold at major supermarkets. My local Woolworths has 2 or 3 varieties for at least the last year or so.
  • Joanna Rohrback
  • Thanks pebble, that sounds delicious. Going to try this tomorrow.
  • I am right, you are wrong.
  • Australian Red Cross currently has a Good Start Breakfast club which operates in over 200 schools nation wide. Foodbank in conjunction with the Victorian state government provide breakfast to 500 schools in the state.
  • Have what you want. Personally the only reason I would have almond milk is because of the lower calories, doubt it is healthier than regular or other milks. It is more expensive (at least in Australia) and I am still beyond puzzled how any one enjoys the taste of it.
  • But you are eating at your TDEE since you weight has been stable long term. It just means the online calculators do not work for you probably because your activity level falls in-between categories (lightly active vs moderately active, for example)
  • I saw a guy add two broken hard boiled eggs on top of his oats for breakfast last week. Interesting idea, I guess.
  • And we would have to convert the water to mls 24us fl oz= 709.7647mL that is going to be hard to measure out.
  • Just wait you live in Australia? I would just ask my local pharmacist/chemist for free, since they dispensed the antibiotics. Once I have seen the GP and been given the script for medicine I always refer to the local pharmacist for further medicine related advice. In my opinion they tend to know a lot more about…
  • One of the best MFP threads. Off to read this to be hubby, so we can have a laugh together.
