  • Change the dose then wait 3-4 days before changing it again. That's how long it takes for you to see any change in insulin dose changes. If you change it daily then you will exactly what you are seeing now.
  • I totally agree with you there. The biggest fear I have is not spiders or something scary, but having complications. It scares me because I am a type 1 diagnosed at age 10, but I have high insulin resistance as well so the lowest A1C I have ever had in 19 years was 7.9. I got into bad habits in undergrad too, and still…
  • you can eat back what you burn, but don't worry if you cannot eat all of them back.
  • using a general calculation (Mifflin st jeour) with a mild activity level I put you at about 11450-1500 for about 2 lbs a week loss. However look at the TDEE as you know your activity level better than I would.
  • How are comments like "is this how you run your life, just give up after minimal effort" giving information? I know many posters have given information, but there are also several posts like this one that have no relevance other than to be sarcastic.
  • I would agree, however they may not mean it the way we are reading it. It is better to encourage someone to keep going than tell them they are in the wrong for being upset and trying to find some support/help. All those who have posted encouraging words I appreciate it, and those that point out yes our weight can fluctuate…
  • go a little early hit some rides then hit the Halloween stuff...lol
  • ok so I just walked about 1.8275 miles on my lunch! yay me...lol only 544 more miles to go
  • just walked 3655 steps (for me that is about 1.8 miles)
  • Click the APPS tab, ticker (top bar right under all the tabs), then you can update, or customize your tickers and set it to show on your posts from there.
  • So here is a questions, are we talking miles total throughout your day, or just straight walking like after work to get mileage?
  • Hello, I'm Kimberly and 29. Currently engaged and have a sit down job that has caused me to start gaining more weight. I want to get back into shape and down to 130. I enjoy walking because I really like to do relay walk races like Portland to coast, cascade lakes, and Sandpoint to Cour de Alene relay.
  • That is a very good meal plan. Everyone needs different amounts. Looks like she put you at 40% of your calories from carbs-good number. We never recommend less than that for percentages of calories from carbs. if you want to calculate out a meal plan at 40% calories from carb to start with use your goal calorie amount and…
  • The number on a scale is just that a number. So many factors play a role, the way you stand, if you are wobbly, if you have heavier clothes on, the time of day, the amount you have been drinking, etc. Go by how you feel, are you feeling better? are your clothes fitting better?
  • Good luck, and I HIGHLY recommend going to the Transformers ride. Another tip- for the rides that are on the lower lot, go through as a single rider-you will by pass pretty much the entire wait time and get placed where ever there is an open seat. so like the return of the mummy ride holds 4 in a row if there is a group of…
  • Only if the face palm is to the person saying it....lol like those v8 commercials.
  • Anything from Dr. Oz
  • Actually I got more info from the craigslist forum than a dog forum. in the dog forums you get chastised for looking at a dog that costs less than $1500. whether or not you breed your dog, do all the right testing and do everything right but just want to get more information on one little thing, you are a BYB and a…
  • No I am not, but if I ask a question about a dog/puppy they automatically assume I am. Our dog got pregnant while we were in the process of moving-it happened, nothing I can do to change it, however when I'm trying to get information or asking to learn and all I get is chewed out and chastised how does that help? Instead…
  • ^^this misinformation. Carbs whether white, brown, fresh, or processed raise blood sugars. NONE of which will CAUSE diabetes. The causes for Diabetes are: Type 1-genetics. Its autoimmune so we did nothing to cause it and there was no way to prevent it. Type 2-You are either no longer producing enough insulin to match the…
  • I would love to get one of those, they are just too expensive. Wish they were cheaper.....I guess its just the pedometer for now
  • You are doing awesome! makes me disappointed that I have not gotten in more walking. Maybe this weekend I can get out and go for a long walk to try and catch up a little.
  • I understand and know that it is its own "territory" however for this challenge it is counted in the state of Maryland.
  • It does happen on some of these forums, but in general most people on here are accepting and understanding. and most understand the need to vent as a stress relief to hinder binge eating/bad choices.
  • Not yet, but she is only at 5 weeks old Sunday. They told me they should change by the 8 week mark, though I'm hoping they don't because they are gorgeous as the blue
  • yes MFP forums are much better, just read through these replies, almost all are supportive. If I had posted this on a different forum I would have been ripped apart for no reason.
  • Oh I've tried that on Doberman talk.com with other questions and its even worse. you will never get an answer to your post and just get called an idiot, irresponsible, a byb (back yard breeder)even if your not breeding and many other things. The people on that forum for the most part are all stuck up and get ad when…
  • love your ticker btw
  • Yep, they are international. when your on the main page the are in the bottom left corner.
  • Kinda like in real life when someone thinks they know how I should be managing my diabetes when they know nothing about. Because they have heard the myths of diabetes they are an expert and know that I'm not allowed to eat mashed potatoes, or whatever the food maybe. Those people usually get a nice earful from me.
