The one thing I have taken away from Optifast during my weight loss journey is to use it as a platform to better eating and better habits all around. Even when I do eat a my one meal, I am now trying to make myself more aware of the nutrient content and how it's going to be beneficial to me. I look at food now as fuel and…

First week I dropped 10lbs and then 3-4lbs there after. I need to loss 100-110lbs and did not want to get any type of surgery. I'm glad that I chose Optifast to really use as a platform for my weight loss. It's taught me so much in the 14 weeks I have been on the program and I am never bored of frustrated. If you put your…

Welcome! I am doing Optifast under close supervision with a Dr who also has given me much information about nutrition. For the first 7 weeks I was on Optifast 800 (4 shakes and 1 bar) and now I have one meal + 2 shakes + 1 bar. I am on week 14 and down 52lbs. Everyone's metabolism and body composition is different but I am…

Waiting a few days to resume a normal, balanced diet and work out schedule again. This way when all said and done and my body resumes what it had been doing prior to Christmas that will show where I am at. I did not feel guilty at all eating various things in moderation. As most of you are on MFP, you're in a much better…

I'm on the Optifast Plan on Week 13 and allowed one meal. I decided this past weekend to eat "normal" at my family's Christmas get together under s few conditions ( to work out at least 90 mins) and keep portions limited. I was so scared that my cheat day would mean having the scale go up but it did the opposite and I…

Hi NYC Cat!!! I started week 13 and right now my stats are SW 275.5/CW 224/GW 175 ( 5'9" 46yo) I never thought in a million years I would be over 50lbs down since I started the program. I know trying to lose 80-100lbs is a daunting task, but please make sure you take one day at a time and never EVER give up. It will happen…

My cravings have not gone away. However with each week (11 weeks of weight loss) they have diminished and I have a better perspective as to WHY I have these cravings. I agree with everyone who says to keep things into perspective and focus not on obsessing, but focus on limiting portions to still satisfy those cravings.

Walking six days a week (min 30 mins) and throwing in intervals of jogging has been great in helping me lose weight, stay on plan, and keep me motivated. Completely agree with Skrib69: "Just do what you enjoy and get something out of it rather than not doing anything and getting nothing."

Thanks for the updates! I go for my Week 7 weigh-in and actually bumping up my caloric intake (per my Physician) to 940 calories a day where I can incorporate 1 meal a day. For those just starting out, please realize to take it one day at a time and not to think of it as a race. Looking forward to everyone's progress. MDW

I'm on week 5 of Optifast800 and I'm really enjoying the program. My last weekly weigh in was on Friday (10/25) and I lost -5.5lbs this week. I feel fantastically great!!! I cannot say the plan will work for everyone, but it does for me. I am under medical supervision and glad my insurance picks up the actual Dr's visits…

A packet of Chicken Boullion and a cup of hot water does the trick. You sip it slowly and by the time you finish you won't be as hungry. It's become my savoir while on Optifast.
