  • I'm in. I need to lose 5 lbs by the end of the month, and I need a kick start again... Starting Weight April 17th = 175 Ending Weight April 23rd = Pounds Lost =
  • I slice of light whole wheat breat (Sara Lee has 45 calories) with 1/4 cup fat free ricotta cheese spread on top (50 calories), and then topped with 1/4 cup diced mango. Total: 145 calories.
  • I'm hooked. I am also reading the entire site! Thanks for sharing.
  • I totally disagree. I can still see him in both pictures.
  • This! Totally this! I feel like my monitor is likable wallpaper right now! Hotness x a billion! Wow...
  • What a huge difference. You look fantastic! Way to go!
  • The lethargy will catch up to you. You will start to feel the effects of not eating enough in short order. The thing that seems to be hitting me, after reading this entire thread, is that your BMR is 1300 only if you stay in bed all day. Think coma. Once you get out of bed, you start burning way more calories. 1300 isn't…
  • You look gorgeous! Great job. You are an inspiration.
  • Congratulations. You look super amazing! I wish I could get my arms to look as good as my legs. Cheers to you! :drinker:
  • I completed C25K in November with an average mile time of 11.5/minute. I ran my first 5K in 34 minutes, which isn't bad for a person who never liked running before. I ran my second 5K two weeks ago. My average mile time is now 10.25/mile. I have been running for almost 8 months, at least 2 days/week, and I still don't run…
  • This statistic always shocks me. I don't even drink 2 cans of soda/week. Maybe I have this much per month, but not per day. That is insane! I'd reather get my sugar through baked goods. =P
  • I used it when it still had ephedra in it too and lost an incredible amount of weight, but that was probably because I was only eating 1000 calories/day and working out like a fiend. I didn't have the side-effects that some people have, but I don't think the pills do anything more than placebo. Changing your lifestyle is…

  • I am glad that helped! It seems so counterintuitive at first. We all go into this with the thought, "if I eat less, I will lose quicker, right?!" And that isn't necessarily true. But eating 2000 calories is so hard when you are making healthy choices! I guess it's all just a learning curve. The last 10 is always the…
  • Thank you. I only have one, but he's my everything. I am hoping that this lifestyle change will make me the best role model I can be for him!
  • I will tackle this one first. MFP already calculates a deficit for you, based on how much you want to lose. When you signed up, you put in a lot of information about yourself; weight, height, sex, how much you wanted to lose, fitness level, etc. The deficit MFP gives you is based on all these factors. If you choose to lose…
  • I do this as well because when I first started out, I wanted to know exactly what I had to work with. I am still finding it really hard to eat this much. I work out at night as well, so I have a lot of calories in the morning, and then a lot at dinner. I think I need to bulk up my lunches too. My calorie goal is already…
  • Thanks. I do have a HRM. It doesn't do calories, but I do average my calories out using a calculator that bases the calculations on my height, weight, average HR, age, and sex. I then take whichever calculation is lowest, that or MFP calculation. I know that I am estimating my Spin classes very low. So I am probably eating…
  • WOW! You are hot stuff, both outwardly and inside. Your numbers are amazing. What a difference a year makes and what an inspiration for the rest of us! Fantastic job. Keep up the good work! Did I mention you are hot stuff?
  • You were beautiful before, but you are smokin' hot now! Way to go!!
  • I love the Ab Ripper 100/200 by Tony Horton (creator of P90X). It is fast, it gets all your abs, and it is very effective!
  • You look absolutely amazing! Great job!
  • If only we had the answer to this particular question. Up until I met and married my husband, I was always active and thin. Shortly after getting married, I gained back the 40 lbs that I had lost when we were dating. I lost 20, gained it back, lost it again. Then I got pregnant. I was 40 lbs overweight when I got pregnant…
  • I am so glad to see this response, Charlie, because it was bothering me too. If you don't have the support of your family, then this journey is nearly impossible! Having someone to talk it out with, especially late at night (when bad cravings are high) can help you tremendously. I know it is different for women (which is…
  • You look fantastic! I am in a similar boat (with more to lose). I started really trying in January/February. I have lost 14, but I still have 15 to go. Your loss is really inspiring!
  • Wow, fantastic job!
  • Wow. You looke gorgeous! Fantastic job!
  • Do you do any other form of exercise? Cross-training, intervals, resistance training can all help. I started doing spin, in addition to bi-weekly 5K runs. Not only did spin class help with my shin splints, but it helped me to shave more than a minute off of my average mile time. I can do a 5K in 28 minutes now. My first…
  • You are not the only one. She bugs the crap out of me! I can do her workouts just fine, I just can't stand to listen to her!
  • I am not a certified personal trainer, but I have worked with many over the years. The one constant rule that they all seem to agree on is not to work the same mucles (strength training) everyday. The one exception to this rule is abdominal muscles, which can be worked daily. And that moderate to hard cardio workouts are…
  • This is only true if you are over 500 calories in the negative. That is the deficit that MFP builds into your daily allotment based on your BMR. If you eat 20 over, it isn't that big of a deal. If you eat 500 over, you aren't going to lose anything, you will just maintain your current weight.
