  • Hi Friends! I am back from a hiatus of sorts..trying to get back inthe habit of MFP-ing... (lol peeing) I am Emily, and I found MFP in March of this year, making me a member and addict of MFP for 8 months, in which i have lost abou 15 pounds, from 170 to 155. The most important thing that has happened to me in those 8…
  • Hey poppy. Glad you got the courage to post here... its been a while since i posted this thread earlier this year, and alot has changed for me, and i think that it can for you to. I admit that my initial way of coping with stress is to limit my food intake drastically, but logging my food here has helped me tremendously on…
  • i wear the chest strap tucked under my bra, the sensor on it has to rest right at your breast bone, and make skin contact with a bit of sweat (or spit) to get it conducting. I cant really even tell it is there, because i already have a bra on, it is just one more strap.
  • here we are!!
  • im not sure about the inventory at wal mart, but i can tell you that you definitely need the kind that HAS a chest strap. that is what monitors your heart rate constantly, the watch is merely a receptor and screen for the information. The kind that is just a watch has two sensors on the face of the watch that you have to…
  • we are going to a costume party tomorrow night, as a bee and beekeeper... i ended up making my costume, and will post pics tomorrow!
  • we had such a small class tonite because of trick or treating, and so i really did big moves because I had so much room!! mlh, i would die to have zumba five days a week. Mine is three times a week, and i miss it on the off days! I actually bought one of the cds so i could do it at home on the hardwood floor, but i just…
  • for me, zumba has been the thing that got me to the gym! it is latin dance based aerobics with moves that take a few sessions to learn, but that can be done at any level. it is so sooo fun! you should go to youtube and look up zumba to get an idea of what class would be like, there are a ton on there!
  • come and join our zumbaholics group! we love love loooove zumba and i am trying to get a good thread started up about how much we looove zumba!
  • hey guys! I am so glad you are all checking out the zumba thread! our class was so full and HOT today! But we are learning a great new song! Rhythm is definitely not necessary, it helps but it is definitely not required. As long as you keep that heart rate up, no one is going to make fun of you! They are there for the same…
  • omg you are tiny! he is nuts! i die everyday in the gym to maintain 155, so please please try not to let it get to you, AND tell him to get a clue! He has a hotty wife!
  • stevia is awesome! it is a natural herbal sweetener. I highly recommend it over artificial sweetener, here is a little more info from wiki commonly known as sweetleaf, sweet leaf, sugarleaf, or simply stevia, is widely grown for its sweet leaves. As a sugar substitute, stevia's taste has a slower onset and longer duration…
  • Hi Ladies (and gents if you like!) Our group is called 25 to life, it is for any of us who are struggling with that stubborn weight that has crept in on us over the years. • i have this same problem when i do tree pose. I find that the thinner my thighs get, it becomes a little easier, but it is almost impossible for me to get my foot above the knee like you are supposed to, bc my calf muscles are so big, they wont let it lay flat... oh well, practice, practice, practice!
  • hii... I am not sure exactly what is too low. but I can at least give input. I am also 5 ft 4, and i am 26 yo. "they say' that for our hight, the range is about 110-145 HOWEVER, if you feel like you are going too low, it is definitely something to address. I on the other hand, am at about 155 give or take some water…
  • this post really hits home for me as well..thanks for the perspective! I, like songbyrd, spent my whole 'growing up' obsessing over being skinny, leading to a devastating eating disorder that landed me in the hospital during 9th grade. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way, and this post has helped me kind of 'reset' my…
  • HI all! well yesterday was a great Zumba day for me..we are learning a new dance that i love! As for logging calories burned... it is hard to say. Mine average between about 650-800 and I will explain. Calories burned is calculated using your age, weight, gender, and max heart rate. Alot of factors i know, but it is the…

  • thats about right, Krystal. Sadly, I have looked far and wide for the answer to back fat, and every single source points to the same thing... cardio! It is the only way to get rid of fat no matter where it is on your body. You can life weights all day, but unless you use the cardio to get rid of the fat that is on TOP of…
  • hi everyone! i am here too! things have been just ridiculous at work, and i have no internet at home most of the time, so i have had a hard time keeping up!
