Thanks Becky, today is my birthday and I have had the biggest lunch and pudding possible! What great timing to be starting the challenge tomorrow.

I'm in East Sussex, near Hastings. I love getting a glimpse of life in the US but it is very exciting to know that there is someone closer to home on this challenge!

My experience of eating paleo is that I don't feel hungry between meals in the same way, I don't have that demanding hunger that I now associate with sugar addiction rather than true hunger. It is challenging removing processed foods and sugar but well worth the effort if you want to curb your hunger.

I have tried to eat primal for about 2 years now, though I don't always achieve it. Living in a rather sleepy part of England I don't come across many other people who really understand paleo/primal and I long for conversation with like minded people!

I can relate to your struggle. I have good days when paleo/primal feels very easy and others when I feel I have hit the self destruct button. However, one of the best things for me about MFP has been that once I have logged a food once I can easily add it to my daily record without undue scrutiny of labels etc. After a…

I am quite new to primal eating and I have had to accept that there will be occasional slip ups and that it is better to forgive yourself and move on rather than getting upset and ending up emotionally eating or thinking about ditching the plan altogether. I really hope that after an extended period of primal eating I…

I love the idea of the No S Diet and think that it could work for me too. Christmas has taken it's toll and I need to remove a few pounds gained, but I hope to be back to my goal in a couple of weeks time, ready for the big 50 at the end of the month. When I get back to goal I will change my calorie target as suggested as…

I have increased my muscle definition in my abdominal area and see an overall improvement, so for me lifting weights was not important.

I have recently lost my last 10 pounds and the last 7 of those was lost using mfp. I am 5' 8", so a similar height to yourself and have moved my weight from 154 to 144 pounds, which I am delighted with. I eat a primal diet, so unprocessed and very little sugar and have had my daily calories at 1570 for the last 7 pounds.…

These posts have been great. My family agreed to do 21 days of primal 'as an experiment', we cleared the pantry of all non-primal food and I have taken charge of all shopping/cooking so that nothing sneaked in. 21 days have now passed and my husband has agreed to extend the 'experiment' until we break up for Christmas. My…

When I started paleo I found that I needed to invest in storage jars for nuts etc and small containers for nuts/seeds when on the move.

I agree that it is easiest to take snacks, hard boiled eggs, prepared salad with lots of protein in a Tupperware box, nuts and seeds. I have travelled with a friend who is coeliac and really can't have gluten and she stops at MacDonalds and asks for a Big Mac without the bun, it is all served up in a box instead!

I bought one for when I am running and it has helped me to see when I am pushing myself too hard. By slowing down to achieve a sustainable heart rate I have enjoyed my runs more and felt better afterwards. I agree with others that a chest strap is best. Also I find a new exercise gadget is a great motivator!

Well done on your running, you are doing great. I find that when I run regularly I always carry a bit more weight, even when my body feels and looks slimmer. If you are eating at a deficit and exercising you will be making progress, however slow it seems. Good luck with your 5K.

I too am fast approaching 50 and would like to take control of my eating so that it does not control me. I guess most women of our age know what works for them, I certainly do, but sticking to it can be so hard. I used to run quite a lot, even completing a full marathon a few years back. However, I have lost all motivation…
