You do realize you are going to lose weight because of the 1200 calories and has nothing to do with LCHF, just another gimmick that is being peddled. If you eat less calories regardless of source than you burn you will lose weight. A healthy balance will last a life time, anything else will make you one of the millions…

No that would be maintenance. You need to eat less to lose. Go to http://www.ahl4u.com/calculators.html do the bmr and activity then play around with the weight loss planner it can verify what your calorie goals should be.

it amazes me that people call this a program. This is not some special program it is a calorie counting tool. For most people I would think they would adjust the Macros, because the "program" as you call it is by default low on protein and high on carbs. Don't get me wrong I think this is a very good calorie counter, but…

Ok, if they do taste better it is worth a try. Thanks for sharing

Not trying to be mean but I guess I'm confused. Why not just use taco shells? 2 Mission brand corn taco shells are 100 calories other brands are similar the primary difference is sodium levels. So what is the advantage of doing the extra work?

Not a trick but learning how to tweak recipes so you still eat good food that has less calories is the "trick". check out www.ahl4u.com/cooking.html to see what tweaking can do to reduce calories.

Most of the calculators on line double count. Meaning they are including the calories burned resting at the same time. You want the net calories burned. Try http://www.ahl4u.com/calculators.html, but you need to make sure you enter all the info for them to work right. Since I don't know your stats, using their calculator…

I think a lot of you have fallen into the fad diet claim of low carb = weight loss. The only people that need to worry about carbs are diabetics. As has been mentioned MFP sets protein at the very low end of the scale. There really are no bad foods per se. If your calories in are less than calories out you will lose…

This is one of the funniest arguments I hear all the time for not doing things. The I don't have the time or my time is too valuable are just copouts. How long does it take to put the yogurt in s strainer and let it sit for awhile. It takes all of 5 seconds to do. But then again you may not have the extra 5 seconds every…

Homemade, why pay so much for a name brand? Buy plain fat free yogurt, drain it yourself and you have your own homemade greek yogurt.

Here is a tip hopefully some of you will find helpful. Ask them to take the middle out of the bread, they do it all the time for people. Then you can load up on extra veggies and have about 1/2 the bread calories.

The one thing that bothers me about mfp is the food database, don't believe 90% of the numbers. I end up always double checking against other sources. The reason I mention this is the clover spread. If it has 140g of fat it is impossible to be 0 calories. Each gram of fat is 7 calories that would mean everytime you eat the…

Actually it is .8 to 1.5 per pound not kilogram. The RDA is very low in their protein guidelines and are based on sedentary people, that are not really using their muscles. Protein is harder for your body to digest so it increases your metabolism to process the proteins, it rebuilds tissue and muscle after exercise and it…

A few observations. Shredded cheese has additives to keep it from clumping. I will stick with block cheese and shred it myself. I make my own sauces, I would bet there is high fructose corn syrup in that Prego sauce. Normally I can buy store brands for almost the same price as the "name" brands with a coupon. Most don't…
