The first question I ask anyone that wants to try some weird diet is are you planning on doing this for the rest of your life? If the answer is no then 9 times out of 10 you will regain any weight you lose. A balanced nutrient rich diet eating real foods is the only way to lose weight if you want it to last

not necessarily true. Depends on whether you buy only whole seasonings and grind them yourself. A lot of seasonings actually contain fillers, and no they aren't listed on the label. Anything below a certain percentage does not have to be listed. So maybe you aren't eating as clean as you think.

care to elaborate on how pasta is junk food?

Sorry but can't resist. So at 19 how many years have you been studying to already be an expert? I know something about nutrition also, but maybe that's because reading comes easy for someone as old as me.

So basically what you are saying is if you overeat you will gain regradless if it is carbs, protein, or fat. Considering how good tasting fatty things can be (bacon comes to mind), and how a gram of fat has 7 calories compared to 4 for a carb it seems it would be easier to get too many calories from fatty foods. So he…

If this Brad Pilon character says it is so then it is ? Where did he do his research and double blind studies to come up with this fact? Oh I see someone selling a book well that means it must be factual.

here is a great recipe that is 138 calories per serving and tastes great. http://www.ahl4u.com/roasted-brussel-sprouts.html tried to add image, never mind it is on the web page.

Odd that you originally said it takes willpower and then you claim you don't have any mental battles. Do you even know what the word willpower means? Thank you for telling me I have a lot to learn, this coming from someone that cites you tube for their wealth of scientific evidence. I have lost 72 lbs eating food I enjoy…

What makes people "fat" is over eating and being under active. Hey if you like to avoid carbs go for it, but one question do you limit your calories or eat all you want as long as it isn't carb? If you say your calories are reduced then you have no proof that lack of carbs is why you are losing weight. Why does a person…

For all of those that took my comment on carbs as something from the government I stated it was from the institute of medicine. They are not part of the government but do provide the results of their research to government agencies such as the FDA. So if you want to dismiss facts because it is from " the government" at…

Oh the internet is a wonderful thing, here is an excerpt that explains that "virtually carb free diet" from wikipedia: Inuit actually consume more carbohydrates than most nutritionists have assumed.[14] Because Inuit frequently eat their meat raw and fresh, or freshly frozen, they can obtain more carbohydrates from their…

Well since I haven't studied either of those groups, I don't know what their lifespan is and how well their brains function in later years. I will stick with the institute of medicine they have nothing to gain from advising macro nutrient minimums, which they also have for fats and proteins.
-
Can you point me to the scientific studies that have validated the above statement? I mean the part about physical activity to maintain weight loss. [edited to clarify]
-
you do know that there is a minium requirement of around 130g of carbs a day to ensure proper brain function. So to lose weight at the expense of long term brain trauma doesn't make sense to me. The 130g comes from the institute of medicine and is not some Dr Oz type thing.
-
You didn't state that you are diabetic if you are then low-carb makes sense if you aren't why is your nutritionist having you limit carbs?
-
You are so full of s.... carbs and sugars don't make you "fat". A calorie is a calorie. Cite a scientific study that proves what you say is true. Oh wait you can't because it doesn't exist. Quit giving people bad advice.
-
You are right using "you all" was incorrect only 75% of the posts are saying pasta is evil and that you should use alternatives. So to the 25% I apologize for lumping you in with the rest.
-
Sorry but what you are saying is complete bull. There is no correlation between avoiding carbs and weight loss. Show me 1 piece of proven evidence that it is carbs that keep you from losing weight. Omiting carbs typically means your calories go down. Guess what when your calories go down you lose weight.

Why do so many people on here view pasta as something bad? What myth did you all fall for to think you can't enjoy pasta? It's all about reasonable serving sizes. Here is a good recipe: http://www.ahl4u.com/pasta-mushroom-toss.html . It is 138 cals and 18 carbs for a 100g serving. (had to fix my grammer)
-
Well you have probably missed the point of weight loss. It is to create a permanent healthier you. Obviously this "diet" doesn't do anything to show you how easy it is to lose weight and eat right at the same time. Maybe you should read some facts on all this at http://www.ahl4u.com

This recipe works with both yellow or zuccinni that have gotten a little big for sauteing. It makes a nice size serving with great nutrition numbers. http://www.ahl4u.com/squash-souffle.html

If you are following a program ie 21day fix or whatever my guess is you will be starting over again. There shouldn't be any program if you approach it right. I have recently started a page that isn't finished yet and there is a lot to read but it talks about a lifestyle approach and not a "diet program". www.ahl4u.com . I…

I have never understood the whole concept of cheat days. If you are eating foods you enjoy and losing weight then why do you even need a cheat day? If you are making "sacrafices" most of the time to lose weight and need cheat days to enjoy eating food you like then you are approaching it wrong. Unfortunately 90% of people…

Being impatient means you will gain all the weight back some where down the road. The worst way to go about weight loss is to be in a hurry. It never works. You want to change your eating for a lifetime not for a month.
-
I don't know if someone else mentioned this but water/soda aside...If you think you lose a pound in a day you don't understand how the body works. I don't think the carbonation was a factor, but drink whatever feels right to you as long as it isn't full of sugar, but please don't think there is an instant weight reduction.…

100 g uncooked rice will weigh between 200 and 300 grams when cooked, depending on the type of rice and how long it is cooked. The extra weight is the water that is absorbed. So from my prior post of 1.216 for a g of cooked rice that would indicate that your rice gains almost 3 times its weight in cooking. As a rule brown…
-
If you divide 219 by 180 you get 1.216 that is the calories per gram of rice. Then multiply that by 100 and you get 121.6 or rounded 122 calories for 100g cooked rice. Now I have to ask a question, what nonsense did you read that says to avoid eating carbs or anything after 3 pm? There is no scientific evidence that what…

The website ahl4u.com really points out what a lot of you are saying. That it is a lifestyle change and not the latest diet fad that will make the biggest difference. They are putting recipes on the site that aren't rabbit food and help with the feeling of eating normal foods.
-
So you also think carbs are bad. Lets see, the Institute of Medicine suggests 130 grams of carbs a day to ensure proper brain function. There is no scientific evidence that a low carb diet is the answer. The reason you lose weight on a low carb diet is because it will also mean a low calorie diet, unless you eat a whole…

Since most of us know that garcinia is just another fake weight loss pill. This would mean to lose 13 lbs in 2 weeks would be a daily deficit of 3250 calories. Is that even possible?
