  • Rather annoyed at my progress this month. It's very disheartening when the tracking says you should be losing and you're just not. I started at 206. Lost 1 lb the first week, then gained it back (although I shouldn't have) and am still at the 206 plateau. I've been here for like 4-5 weeks. Ugh. But I'm still keeping track,…
  • So sorry to hear about your friend's baby. :( I don't think it's necessary bad that you wanted to make food for them, it can be a very comforting thing for a grieving family. Problems come when you eat the entire lasagna yourself. Haha. I find going out for a walk in nature can be very soothing. And talking through things…
  • Thanks all. I do have newer shoes so I don't think that's it. I'm trying to work up to a 5k so I need to keep at the running. Haven't heard about trainer's tape before. What is that? Good idea for the icing acsl3. I'll try that too.
  • :( got McDonald's for dinner - massive amounts of McDonald's
  • Well my Sunday didn't go great. Hopefully will be at maintenance at least. Gonna have to do some running on the spot during commercials.
  • Down 1 lb. I really think that it's last weeks work that shows this week, and this week's will show next. It's one of the hardest things for me. I want to see that instant change...I was -1000 cal one day, I want to see -0.2 lb the next day. Lol. Not realistic. Something I gotta get used to. But I'm on the right downward…
  • Laziness. Lol. I have a big problem getting exercise in. Another problem that makes this one worse is that I get very sore the day after I exercise. This makes me not want to do it that day, and then I end up putting it off for a while. I feel like if I could do it every day I would be able to stick with it, but having to…
  • I actually went out for a run/walk yesterday! Usually I just lazy around all weekend. I also made cookies and didn't eat them all at once. Haha. So far so good this weekend. We'll see how today goes.
  • day 10 and day 11
  • This is a common problem. It often stems from not having a good self-efficacy (psych term similar to self-esteem) - essential it is about what you think you can accomplish. When you don't think you can achieve something, you set your goals at unrealistic heights so that when you don't reach them, you can say "well, it was…
  • Same here - it's a holiday weekend here, and I'm crazy stressed with a bunch of course work to finish - makes for a bad combination of snacking, boredom, and stress. All we can do is put the bad day(s) in the past and move forward, trying to do a little extra workout this week in order to overcome that overeating.
  • I did horribly this weekend - I was house-sitting for a friend and whenever I'm there I always end up eating so much snack food - probably because I don't keep that stuff at my place for this specific reason. Going to have to get my butt in gear this week to get back those extra calories that I ate. In the past, I know…
  • Current weight: 206 lbs Overall goal: 135 lbs August goal: 206 lbs Action plan for August - I will need to up my workouts in order to meet the 6 lbs goal. My goal is 4 workouts a week, every week. I currently only do about 1-2.
  • I'm interested. Can't find the group. Please send an invite.
  • day 9 - too bad I'm not seeing the weight come off accordingly. :/
  • Day 5, 6, and 7 last week with adding a few days together. Day 8 - actual 1000 deficit today
  • Day 4 - volleyball day
  • Day 2 and 3 - had a few days add together and lots of walking for Canada day.
  • Congrats on getting started.
  • Day 1 - I agree with the combined days strategy since it's not good to go hard core on exercise every day - at least not if you're trying to get back into shape. Gotta let your muscles recouperate. But I went swimming and played volleyball today so I had the 1000 calorie deficit. :)
  • It'll be okay. You've got the right attitude at the end. All you can do is move forward. And if you were doing well before you can get back there!
  • I hear you sweetie_1103. I fight that depression and want to give up all the time. I don't always have good days. And sometimes I give in and eat the pizza (and I mean like a whole pizza once), lol, but I just log it and go from there. What I have learned is that one day doesn't make you fat nor does one day make you fit.…
  • Remember that muscle weights more than fat, but it's much smaller. The same weight in muscle versus fat is like a tennis ball versus a melon. The number on the scale isn't the only thing that matters. Inches are a big deal. Way to go!
  • I find weekends the hardest because I tend to stay at home relaxing. That means that I don't do much though and am often bored, and when I'm bored I eat. So I've been working on doing more on the weekends (even if it's just going out for a walk on local trails) so that I'm less likely to eat more frequently.

  • Hi. I'm 5'4'', 26 years old. I've struggled with my weight pretty much since high school. I've been a student for most of the time since then, and was gaining about 10 lbs a year. I always felt too busy to take care of myself. Way easier just to stop and get fast food on the way home after a long day than cook something…
  • Yes this is true. But it is much better to eat a 200 calorie snack of veggies or fruit than a donut. Even if you maintain the same weight because of the calories being the same, your body is not going to be as healthy - you'll have a higher body fat and you'll probably miss out on nutrients. Calories in - calories out is…
  • Depending on how active your lifestyle is, you might need more than 1900 calories / day. You can try the different lifestyle choices in the goals area in addition to how much you'd like to weigh, and it should give you an idea of how many calories you need. And like the other person said, if that's still not working, try…
  • I have too much work to do. I'm sore. I'm tired. I'll go later today. I just want to go home.
  • "Gone from 250 to 192. Still working on getting down to 140. Its not that hard once you get used to it. I did it using a ketogenic regime." What is a ketogenic regime?
