So eat back half the calories burned? I try to eat up to my calorie goal with no exercise because I feel like mfp over estimates burned calories

I would say if you are not hungry and not tired you are fine. Starvation mode does not happen when you are close to your goal. In fact I have had people tell me it is a myth. Not sure what is true about that, but there is simple math less in more out. Stay on track and slowely you will get there.

I am from NY and live in SC. I think people in the north and south are just different. Everyone in the south thinks "Yankees" are rude. When this is a generalization too. I am not rude, and I also enjoy the laid back lifestyle in SC. And Bless Your Heart is not nice!!!

You have to start out slow. It is annoying because we all want instant gratification. If you were having 3000 calories a day and started a 1200 calorie a day diet your body would go into starvation mode and you would not lose at all. Every 10 lbs lost the calories will recalculate.
