If it makes you feel better...It's taken me 5 months to just lose 10 :( You're losing about a pound a week, that is amazing! That's the perfect rate, you probably don't want it to go faster because it's harder to maintain afterwards. Just remember that as you lose more, it will get harder and harder. Whenever you're at…

I have the same problem, but I carry my fat both in the tummy and in thighs/bum. I don't know how the birth control is affecting that, I'm on the pill too but I honestly can't say if I have more now than I did before or not; so I'm assuming even if I got more it's not that much. But yes, definitely it's one of those areas…

Yes, that works for some people...but in my case, I eat 1500 calories a day and work my butt off. So I definitely can't eat whatever I want, because a good bowl of pasta with bread and meat will pretty much be half of my calories for the entire day. I'm also interested...how much do you actually work out during the week in…

I understand, and I also agree with that point of view. It is a change in lifestyle, I am also trying to learn to stop thinking in terms of "Whenever I get down with weight loss I can eat all of this!". What I mean with cheat meal is some meal that *clearly* goes over your calories for the day. For example, I am actively…

People telling me that I have to cut out carbs to lose weight...NO, I DON'T I need to do whatever diet I can stick with even after I'm done. If you can live your entire life on just fats or just protein and veggies, that's fine, I can't. I would literally vomit if I did the Ketogenic diet, and I would be starving if I…

Well it will help in weight loss, but you still need to make sure your food is correct. Some people say that losing weight is 80% nutrition, 20% exercise. You can do Zumba all you want but if you eat a pizza every day, it won't have an effect ;) Just make sure to eat more healthy, don't overeat, but also don't undereat.…

It is so beautiful and refreshing to see a guy who thinks this way, thank you <3 I don't know what the hell is wrong with people...it seems like they LIVE for making others feel bad about themselves, especially some men against women (not saying this is the only case, but it's the one I'm most familiar with) Too skinny?…

I'm 5'5 and medium framed (but very curvy/voluptuous), currently at 155 and my goal weight is 145. My lowest ever has been 130 pounds and I looked ill XD it depends a lot on the body type I think

Right and I know since it's just 10 pounds more, it's going to be slow. But 3 pounds in 2 months??? :( And I am also really worried about my metabolism. I am 26 years old!! I'm supposed to be on the peak and not at all. If it's that difficult right now, what the hell am I going to do after having a baby?? When I get older,…

Ugh...everythign for me is taking longer than I would've wanted! 5 months, have lost 10 pounds :( 10 more to go...but yes, I started noticing a big change in my arms, they look the best they've ever looked. My thighs on the front are looking pretty good. However, stomach and thighs on the back are still terrible. My jeans…

More details: I am female, 5'5, right now 155 pounds (goal is 145). Since I'm both trying to lose fat AND build muscle, my diet is around 1500 calories, where 20-25% come from fat, 45% from protein and 30-35% from carbs. I choose lean meats (chicken, turkey) and have protein shakes; and for my carbs, it's either sweet…

Yeah sorry about that...I actually don't use the food diary here because MFP put me at 1,200 and I'm way above that. I will be posting a picture (good point). A little more info just in case...I'm a woman, 5'5, 26 years old. I do have a desk job so spend most of the time sitting :( but I'm really making an effort to work…

Right and I sometimes wonder whether 1,600 is too much for my body, but I don't know what to do...at the same time, I don't wanna go back to trying 1,200 calories, I felt *miserable* doing that. So I don't want my metabolism to slow down but I also wonder :( should I go to 1,400?? A little more info: Yes I do take a rest…

Looking at the numbers people post here sucks for me :( I think it really depends on your frame and your body composition. I'm very curvy and medium-framed. When I weighed 130-140, people told me I looked *sick*. I lost all my curves and I looked very disproportionate. The best I've felt is when I'm 140-150, I look healthy…

People will always have something bad to say...I am Latina, and super curvy...guess what? some people would love it if I would just be skinny and got rid of these curves. However, a couple of years ago I starved myself and got "skinny", and everyone told me I looked sick and disproportionate...

I agree that I could switch it and at least eat some healthy fats, like snacking on nuts or throwing veggies into a little bit of olive oil. Some of you have mentioned that you don't count calories but just your macros. What does that mean? And I don't know where the percentages come from...I thought it was reasonable to…

Sorry I forgot to answer...yes, I bought a scale! I measure everything in cups/tbsps. Unfortunately, with the meat it was the opposite...I've been thinking that the chicken breasts that I eat usually are 8 oz, but turns out they are 5-6 oz. Not a big deal, but yes I am currently measuring everything. For carbs I am eating…

BUMP - need help :( How to get up to 1700 calories but with healthy foods? No white rice, white bread, beef, greasy foods, desserts, etc.

I found this thread on the exact moment that I needed it! I've been working out with a personal trainer for 7 weeks and I am eating much more than I used to (I also tried the whole 1200, not for me). I do weight lifting with him 2x, go to group classes 3x and do cardio about 4 days a week. I really like not having to…

I should probably add more info... So I ate 1,200 cals/day for 2-3 weeks and realized it wasn't working...then just ate what I felt like (still healthy) without counting calories for another 2-3 weeks...and now even though the "target" number of calories is 1800, no matter how hard I try I *never* get there. I am usually…

So on the days you do workout, you eat your TDEE-20% PLUS those calories that you burned. How do you estimate the amount of calories you burned? And on the days where you do *not* work out, do you then eat less calories? Or do you stick every day to the same amount of calories?
