You can still ride a horse? I am confused about how disabled this makes you. Anyway, a recumbent bike might help, swimming is good, water aerobics is good for you...

Well done on the weight loss. That is phenomenal! I think you are on the right path by doing weights. All I would suggest is to swap some of the walking for HIIT. That is, when you are walking, add a 1 minute jog into the mix every 3-4 minutes. You can google a few HIIT treadmill workouts. It takes less time than walking…

Binging is not good, but a week at maintenance every 6 or so weeks of dieting can do wonders. Don't go over maintenance (and correct your maintenance cals for the weight loss) but make sure you get a fair bit of carbs. The higher carbs will affect your leptin levels and increase your fat burning capabilities. Beware that…

Nope sorry but this isn't a celebration thread. This is "1200 evangelism".

I do NROL4W which is a full body workout three times a week.
-
Yep - and it happened on here recently. Some idiot wanted to do what they called IF, but was really 1200 on the 5 normal days and 600 on the fasting days, without eating back exercise calories. Honey that ain't IF, that's just freaking stupid.
-
You likely didn't gain 6 lbs of FAT. If you binged on carbs and salt, you would be storing a lot of those 6 lbs as water. I recommend drinking a lot of water for the next 3-4 days and doing some cardo to deplete your glycogen and probably 3-4 lbs of that weight gain will disappear.

Ignore what the machines tell you that you have burned. They are all over inflated. I suggest you start thinking about your METS, and use the METS method to calculate your calorie burn rather than what the equipment tells you. If that is too complicated, then just halve the number the machines give you - yes it is THAT…

^^^ THAT You can't spot reduce.

I have to confess I have cheated a bit... I felt really good today so I didn't stop at 5 minutes. I warmed up for 5, ran for 10, walked for 3, ran for 10, cooled down for 5. I was supposed to start W4S1 today. Oops. But it felt sooooo good to be able to run for 10 straight.
-
Congrats!!! Hope you feel really proud of yourself!
-
read again I didn't say peeing makes you dehydrated. Sleeping overnight will do that with our without taking a wizz.
-
It might reduce volatility, but relative to what? Who is to say that your body post urinating in a dehydrated fasting state is the weight you should be trying to measure in the first place?
-
I'm with you. Do we even HAVE an accurate weight? Dehydrated or hydrated? With a gut full of "bioproduct" or not? How much urine? How much glycogen in the muscles? There is no one number that is right... so ultra precision is unnecessary.
-
Awesome! Have you started yet? I did one workout A and one workout B with my trainer so I am ready now :). I did B last night but I was still sore from the squats two days earlier so I didn't do too well in the lunges.

I do 3 full body weights sessions (NROL4W) and 3 cardio sessions (C25k) per week with one day off per week. Losing 1 kg/week, gaining muscle tone :).
-
W3S1 done :) feels awesome!
-
The company doesn't advertise their calorie content. It's from MFP :)

Depends on the diet. People who adopt a low carb diet tend to lose a lot of water weight early on, within a few days. People who start a diet with an exercise routine at the same time can sometimes see the scale go UP temporarily as their body stores water and glycogen in the muscles to fuel itself for the next workout and…

I don't think IF is unhealthy - did it just feel wrong for you? More cardio could help :) then you could eat more.
-
Yes :) and it is very common. Your muscles are hoarding water to protect themselves while they heal. After a few weeks the initial weight gain goes away. My initial gain was 4 lbs as well. If he can notice the difference - congrats!
-
Congratulations!!! Week 5 is tough but just lower the speed to something manageable and have a go!

The OP wants to weight train, eat less than 1200 cals, not eat back exercise calories, and weighs 98 pounds. The bridge dwellers need to be a little more creative with their spare time

Please don't starve yourself again :( It is so unhealthy and it is never the right mind set to lose weight as a lifestyle. What is your plan to deal with cravings? What is your mindset towards the next set back (because, there will be many). Who are your support people? What is your exercise plan for the rest of the year?…
-
Please take this the right way - you don't need one. HRM's are just estimates anyway, they are always estimates, never actual figures. They use your HR to estimate oxygen uptake in steady state cardio. It is your oxygen uptake, and not your HR, that is going to determine your calorie burn. I use a HRM when jogging and for…

Beware of chafe! Tighter fitting pants work better for me for that reason.
-
Encouraging someone who is netting about 600 cals a day, to do MORE exercise, is moronic.
-
You appear to be trolling, or have an ED. When it comes to dieting - don't be a d!ck about it.

Im currently running 10 miles a week. Happy to join in although my running is through the c25k program.
