My best ever time was around 28 minutes. This was when I was in my late 20's, going to the gym, and especially doing spin classes (they gave me super cardio powers!) I've just got back into running after a long break having kids etc, and have done 3 x 5km races over 6 weeks. My first time was 37:11, second 35:35. Today I…

Yes, BUT be sure not to increase your internal body temperate too much through very vigorous exercising (eg spin classes). If your core temperature rises too high it can damage a developing foetus, especially if your body is not used to exercise. For the two first weeks of pregnancy (the "two week wait") you're not going…

I'm 5'3" too and roughly the same weight 132lbs today. I'm also intending to run a half-marathon - my reason? My 40th is coming up in a year, and it's on my 'list of things to do'. Wish we had the rock n roll marathon here - that would be great! Feel free to add me (if I'm not too old that is!)

*waves* ;) I'm on the downward slide to 40 too (in Nov 2014). I've got a goal - I'm going to run a half-marathon. I'm starting from scratch. There would be no better feeling than crossing that finish line around my 40th birthday! So perhaps you can set yourself a goal to reach before you get to 40? A bucket list kinda…

I'm ex-military myself (from New Zealand). I did the hard yards before the recruit course, turned up and found it not too hard. There were other girls who were unprepared and they found it hard, like soul destroying hard. Also in the military world, you need to be on time for everything. If you are late back from a run -…

135lb this morning yahoo! Finally something's moving. Someone told me that when you exercise, if your muscles are sore they can retain water. I've been a bit sore lately with starting up running, so that probably explains everything.

Based on my current weight of 136lb, MFP gives me 1,200 calories. I tend to not eat my exercise calories. I have trouble balancing my macros - like some days I will eat too much sugar, or too much fat, but so long as it's not the same thing everyday I guess. I'm a pretty small eater, so I have no trouble with that number…

Bumpity bump. Anyone else?

Wow great results everyone! Back from holiday. Uh oh! Fell off the wagon. Start again tomorrow. So hard to eat healthy while travelling - lesson - need to be better prepared next time. I need my behind kicked. Was doing so well before my holiday. So back on the wagon tomorrow (Thurs), and will resume weigh-ins from Tues…

Similar thing happened to me - have lost 9lb in my first fortnight. I feel like I have to tell people I'm not on a crash diet - I'm not. I think the quick loss of weight has something to do with laying off the junk food all of a sudden - There is certainly less sodium floating around in my body, and who knows what else. So…

My husband has lost 20kg recently (approx. 45lb). It has taken months, and some weeks he has plateaued for 3-4 weeks in a row. He has been patient and consistent - and after a while the pounds start dropping off again. For myself, I really noticed a huge weight loss when I gave up junk food and started drinking water. It…

Great results everyone! I won't be checking in next Tues as we are away, but might check-in instead on the Thursday when we are back.

Hehe - could have done with your help yesterday. : ) Wondered why I was having trouble fulfilling my macros, some over, some under, but generally having a whole lot of calories left over. Discovered for a start that my protein was set by default to only 15%. Still trying to find the right balance - not really sure what it…

Feel free to add me too! :) We have similar weight goals. Me: SW:142lb CW:133lb GW:124lb & I'm 5'3", from New Zealand.

To Chad23 - so I only manage exercise every 3 days or so. When I'm not at work, I've got the kids with me. Our weather has been horrendous lately - so can't drag the kids out in that. When DH is home though I can get a decent run or walk in. Today for example, I was desperate for a walk, it was a howling gale and had just…

Feel free to add me as a friend. We sound similar in stature. I'm 5'3" - started at 142lb, now 134lb, aiming to get to 124lb. I'm also a member of a group (just started) - we are aiming to take off 10-15lb by Xmas. Weigh-ins are Tuesdays (for accountability). Feel free to join.…

Bumpity bump! I've done a bit of research on what my macronutrient ratios should be. I was rather interested to find that the macronutrient settings on here (well for me anyway) were set at only 15% for protein! I believe that's very low, so I've upped it to 30%. It's good - it suits my existing lifestyle to eat more…

Thanks everyone for your good suggestions. We live on a farmlet - so no problems sourcing protein! Will aim to increase that. I find when I get more protein I feel fuller for longer. My problem with junk food is that I over indulge every winter. By that, I mean eating a family size bag of chips all by myself, half a block…

Sounds great to me.

Nice to meet everyone! :) I see we are doing weigh in on Tues. Because I'm on New Zealand time, I'll likely be the first to post each time. Nothing like a bit of pressure aye! All good. Sarah

Hehe went past KFC today - could just about taste it as I drove by! I did post once on the KFC Facebook page. What is Popeyes? We don't seem to have that here in New Zealand. Probably a good thing I'm a good 15 min drive from any fast food outlet.

Definitely in. Just tell us where to join. I've just started losing some weight. I've lost 6lb already and I'd like to lose a further 12lb.

Just joined this group. 5' 3" SW: 142lb CW: 138lb Sarah

I'm from Southland too! Invercargill. Just starting out on a get fit/eat healthy regime. :) Sarah

I just started tracking on MFP about three days ago - and I'm having sugar problems too. I've got 24 units to use throughout the day, and honey on toast is 8 sugar units gone in a flash. I don't drink fruit juices. I'm weaning off Coke Zero and my only other drink is a no calorie cordial. I'm getting a bit of unwanted…
