Wow! You are amazing! Great job! And even great will power!

You both look wonderful!

Have you looked at this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6SfiH2-TEQ When did you last give birth?

Well done to you too Jeanywren! I am sure your next results will still be very good! And eventually you might be able to also get some exercise. Even just walking for 30 minutes can do miracles :-)

If you are maintaining at 1500 calories, anything less than that will make you loose. The bigger the deficit, the faster the loss. Why don't you start with 1400 calories and see where that brings you? In any case, try and get some exercise done. I'm not talking of heavy duty things, but just a little bit of movement (a…

BUMP. Thanks! I will finish reading later. Hopefully it will also help me with my maintenance :-)

I loved this one! And totally agree. Whereas the benefits and great feelings that come after a run... well those last much longer ;-)

I will be very honest here. Ages ago (up to about 4 years ago I think) I would see all sort of people running, flushed in their faces, dragging their feet, running all wobbly, and I would think, "Damn why do they put themselves through all that! Can't they see they are doing it all wrong? I would never want to be in their…

As a teenager I saw my mother put up a 3-year battle with lung cancer (doctors didn't give her much of a chance but she was determined to prove them wrong, alas... she was wrong). She fought till the end, and that was the best lesson she could give us kids. You have the very best attitude to face this battle, and luckily…

Thanks! Very interesting read and also very useful discussion :-)

Have you checked the batteries? Both on the strap and on the watch?

I have had and am having similar issues (my hunger, now that I have upped the calories, is nearly out of control too). I think, by past experience, that it's the mind having to catch up on the truth of having lost the weight. Having spent so much time eating less and loosing, now that we have reached our goal it's as if…

In the end I tried the recipe with your suggested gram weight for the flour, and they turned out marvellous! Thanks for sharing!!!

The recipe looks delicious, but be careful, 10 tablespoons are not 62 grams, they are 150 grams. Enjoy the brownies!

It took me about a year and a half to finish all 9 weeks! Or better, as you, I was never a runner, I actually hated to run long distance! But about 2 years ago a good friend of mine introduced me to C25K (the British NHS one). We started together, but having less weight to loose it was easier for me, and we kept…

Do you log all your food? I noticed that the last days just before your hunger attack you weren't eating all your calories. That could explain the hunger, turning into a binge. As the others said, don't feel guilty, maybe log as much as you can of yesterdays food, and start fresh today. By the way, I realized a "silly"…

Thanks all for the input! Actually I had never considered the ice-hockey issue (have a game tomorrow night!). At least now I know that as I am "just" trying to slim down a bit, and most of all tone and get fitter, I don't need to fret so much about the daily weight loss. I'll try and weigh myself maybe twice a month. I…

Your reminder half answers a doubt I have, but just to be sure.... maybe you can help.... I wanted to try and weigh myself "less than usual" as I find that sometimes the weekly weigh-in kind of makes me feel like giving up due to lack of results, or give in due to too good results.... But if I don't adjust my weight…

Steam or cook in very little water (with the lid on so it sort of steams, and then add raisins and pine nuts, plus a drizzle of oil. In alternative, add some ricotta cheese or low fat philadelphia cream cheese, instead of the oil, and use to fill a short crust pastry or puff pastry (according to how many calories you can…

Bake the cake, insert it on MFP as your recipe, consider the cake for 8, and if you really want... eat only half a slice. That way you enjoy your baking and eat half the calories :-)

Interesting read! Thanks for sharing :-)

Same symptoms, on and off, and a history as vegetarian. After some medical check-ups my doctor figured out that it wasn't so much the iron that I needed, but all the vitamins that help absorb the iron. It would be worth checking this out also in your case. Try and combine citric fruits (freshly made orange juices - vitamin…

Cut them into thin slices, sprinkle with pepper (and salt if you want) and bake them in the oven until soft. A perfect snack! Or use them to make pumpkin flavoured potato gnocchi (italian dumplings).

Could be Gilbert Syndrome? It's a condition that hits about 50% of the World's population (including me). In short it's too much bile in the blood stream (a form of jaundice). It has no side effects, no complications, gives no problems, apart from the general yellowish tint of your body and hands. Or you have been eating…

I am not sure about the accuracy of the machines in a gym, but if the calorie count doesn't vary whether you are holding the sensors or not... it can't be too accurate. I would try and overcome the uncomfortable feelings and use the HRM. The strap that goes around your rib cage is easily hidden under your clothes, and you…

Thanks  I just hope the maintenance kicks in fast though... I am still losing even if I've "been maintaining" for 2 weeks now! Any suggestions? Should I maybe up my calories by considering my life as very very active (running after 2 young children, a 1-year old Saluki puppy - race dog, taking care of a large house…

Some years ago I went to a health spa for a week, eating healthy and drinking many detox herbal teas. I had a very bad migraine every day! The doctors there explained that it's the body getting rid of toxins in sugary foods, and foods full of preservatives. I believe it's quite normal, and should go away with time. Try and…
