  • Sounds familiar! I had those problems and we discovered I have SIBO........Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. Just Google SIBO and you'll find information if you've never heard of it. I also have Gastroparesis (stomach paralysis). When I started eating for these two conditions, I improved tremendously. There are two…
  • :flowerforyou: Good luck to you, Shelly! Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work as there are other programs that do work. You just have to find the one that suits your body. FODMAPs didn't work for me but SCD has. Will be thinking of you! Dee
  • Hi Bianca!:flowerforyou: I have started my 10th week today and I am a believer! bigtime! I would be happy to discuss SCD with you. If you want, we can do it through PMs or start a new thread dedicated to SCD. Looking forward to hearing from you. Dee:smile:
  • Meaghan :flowerforyou: Best wishes for a successful experience with FODMAPs. If it doesn't work, do look into SCD. I'm on week 7 and have my life back. Dee:smile:
  • :flowerforyou: Hi! I am reporting back and am happy to report that altho the road was bumpy the first week, I am doing quite well on this SCD way of life. I am on Day 23. If you are trying to lose weight as well, you will definitely do it on this diet and believe me, there is not one morsel of food that is not good…
  • I will report back in a few weeks. Dee
  • Hi Gals!:flowerforyou: I have been having more problems. Did well on FODMAPs for 4 weeks then all of a sudden crashed and burned. Been miserable for the last 4 weeks. My gastro dr has me starting an even more stringent program for IBS called Carbohydrate Specific Diet based on the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle. Sooooooo,…
  • I reacted to dairy......I think. Have started elimination over again and will try dairy again. Wish me luck!
  • Good Luck, Leanna! I have mainly being doing the elimination since mid-June and definitely improved. I ate something at a restaurant two weeks ago and ended up quite sick for a week. This past week was better and I introduced lactose....so far so good. Because my digestive system is so persnickety, I'm taking a long time…
  • Hi! Thanks for getting this group started!:flowerforyou: I am Dee from PA and I developed these gastro issues late in life due to Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease. My new gastro dr suggested I try FODMAPs mid-June and I had immediate success with the elimination and am still following it. However, we were on vacation and…
  • I've heard that FODMAPs works for @75% of those who try it. Have you been tested for Celiac and food allergies?
  • Does anyone know how to start a group? We seem to be collecting FODMAP people.
  • Welcome! :flowerforyou: I would love if a group started! So far it's been Alexsmith01 and I and we've been PM-ing each other. I'll suggest to her that we converse on this thread since you are interested. Do get or download (there is a Kindle version which I have) the book IBS - Free At Last by Patsy Catsos. It is…

  • So happy to get some response to this. I have been suffering for so long and my condition is life long, so to find a solution and other people who KNOW what it's like......priceless. :flowerforyou: Thanks for the website, Ruby. Will go there right after this. I'm guessing the "au" tag is Australia. The FODMAP…
  • I've scanned thru the posts looking for an IBS group. Is there one on MFP?

  • I was reading today's USA Today Life section at lunch and I found an article about an MFPer from Rochester NY who lost 135 lbs! Hurray for her!:drinker: I thought you may want to read it. Inspirational!
  • :embarassed: I just noticed they put stars for part of a word that was NOT a bad word! WOW! I guess Charles ****ens name has been smeared! :ohwell:
  • Hello All! :flowerforyou: I'm back after many months and will try to be more regular about checking in. I need exercise motivation. :ohwell: I'm on maintenance and my stomach problems keep me from overeating (the only blessing in this condition which is gastroparesis). I LOVE walking outside but when it gets cold…
  • Bump:flowerforyou: Hoping that with the cold weather setting in I'll have more time to spend on the forum.
  • Bump :flowerforyou: Hoping now that the cold weather is coming I'll have more time to read the posts. If not, I'm always thinking about my MFP friends.
  • I've heard they've come out with flax milk but I haven't found it yet. I'm interested because it's a great source of omega 3s. I can't swallow the fish oil pills due to swallowing difficulties. I love vanilla unsweetened Almond Milk and use it frequently.
  • My daughter loves her Polar FT4. I went to buy one and found the Polar FT7 on sale at ****'s so I got that one. Have been using it for 3 days and like it a lot.

  • Thanks! :flowerforyou: I will research the website and the book. I want to be eating clean and the processed gluten-free foods do not meet that criteria, so I'll bake my own. I haven't found a gluten-free bread yet that I like that is preservative free, so I'll bake that too. I'll be experimenting today.
  • BUMP :flowerforyou: I am so out of the loop. Have a lot of catching up to do!
  • Oh my, smwert, that's so sad about your friend's niece, and really, worse yet. It's horrible when you lose someone, but incomprehendible when you're blindsided by sudden unexpected death. I hope your friend is able to handle it. Someone asked about Bandit.....he's doing great. We go to the vet week after next to…
  • Good one, Buzz! Grandma Flash....I like that Jeri! My grandkids are getting a bit older now, so I made a deal with each of them that this summer I would "hire" him/her so they could model for me. Win-win situation. I get to practice, they earn some money, but most of all, I get one-on-one time with…
