  • At about 10 pounds I started to notice. I could see it in my face. By 15 other people were noticing and some of my pants were falling off! So I started using belts! I've been holding steady in the 15-20 pound range, but I'm looking forward to seeing more changes as I hopefully continue to lose.
  • It sounds like you are doing great! The scale will catch up eventually. Those inches lost are more than enough proof that you are doing things the right way. If you are doing everything you need to be and then scale isn't catching up, take some time off from the scale and go back when it is feeling more cooperative. Don't…
  • At first, it is difficult to make that change if you aren't used to it. You'll be in the ladies room often and your body isn't exactly thanking you for it. After a few days, you start feeling thirsty and the bathroom trips even out. Then your body will ask you for the water and it is easier. :drinker:
  • I met my man of two years on myspace, so I totally support meeting people there! :flowerforyou:

  • Chevelle
  • Brand New
  • Welcome! This is a great place to make some real changes. :flowerforyou:
  • Wow! That is really great. That is great motivation! Keep it up. :drinker:
  • Love mine. Chest strap is a little moody. Rub a little water under it if it isn't reading and you'll be good to go! :drinker:
  • I think MFP will give you a notification. I haven't actually seen it, lol! :blushing: I keep messing with my goals before I get to 10 pounds.... but it is rumored to exist! You are right though... once you see that you have to change your goals with your new weight.
  • Are you eatting your exercise calories? If you are burning off a lot, you might be dipping into starvation mode. In general, I would try not to worry too much. :flowerforyou:
  • Heh, that is kind of funny! I really love the idea of intuitive eatting. A long time ago I read a book that told me to pay attention to food cravings and satisfy them (within reason). That concept help bring an end to my binging. Your body really is an amazing machine and it will tell you what it needs. It also tells you…
  • I totally agree with you here! Glad to hear that other people out there are in the same boat!
  • I see a lot of people on here saying, "I can't eat all my calories." Am I the only person that gets hungry?! I do fine with my calories set to 1lb a week. If it is 1.5 lbs a week (where I have it now), I really need to exercise to have enough calories for the day on most days. 2lbs a week... forget about it! I'm ready to…
  • Do the best you can for today. Try a snack before dinner. Something high calorie like nuts would be a good choice. Then have a filling dinner. The pasta suggestion is a good one. After that, have a little dessert of some kind. Then tomorrow, work on planning out your calories ahead of time a little better. If you are only…
  • I follow MFP's guidelines. I try to exercise at LEAST 3 times a week, but really it needs to be more for me. I try to stay as close to my calories as possible. I let myself have days off here and there if needed. I try to drink all my water and have my 5 fruits and veggies every day. Basically, I do the best I can! I…
  • Sounds like you should put the workouts aside for a few days until you are feeling better. No need to make yourself sicker. Take care of yourself and get back to it when you are 100% again! :flowerforyou:
  • I refuse to watch those silly little TVs they put on exercise equipment now. I want my music! I really love it. On the days when I get into whatever I am listening to, I definitely have a way better workout and leave feeling refreshed. Wearing the ipod while biking worries me a little bit. I don't bike, but I used to wear…
  • Just going to echo what wewereundone is saying. 1200 is way too low with the amount you want to lose. I have about 50 left to lose and I eat over 1600 calories a day. That breakfast seems like a good one! Pretty balanced and will get you going for the day. You will have to eat more if you want to lose. Check out the links…
  • Keep giving tea a shot. There are so many herbal teas out there that taste great. If green tea isn't necessarily your thing, try a different one. You can add honey to some of them, too. Yummy! For right now, try limiting your caffeine intake. 1 cup of coffee a day and/or 1 soda. Replace the other cups/cans with water. I…
  • Thats great! I think getting into the classes is a good way to feel like you have to go to the gym. Maybe try some of those. I know my Gold's has pretty good classes. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm from MA too! Snow has totally been interfering with workout days. Very annoying!
  • I definitely gain during TOM. This time it is looking like a 5 pound gain... yuck! The thing is though that there is this amazing day about 1 day after it completely ends when all the weight comes off at once! I always feel so skinny that day! Actually, it tends to be the one day a month that I actually lose. I might only…
  • For spaghetti squash, bake it for like 45 minutes on 350 or until it is soft and stringy when you touch it with a fork. You can microwave it too I guess, but I didn't figure that out. Then you used a fork to scrape out the squash, add a little sauce, and yum! I've only tried it once, so I'm not exactly an authority... but…
  • I like anything that gives me nutrition facts with it! Weight watchers, cooking light, and hungry girl are all good for that. I use the websites mostly, but I might actually track down the cooking light cookbooks now!
  • I tried MTV Pilates the other day. I liked it a lot and felt it the next day. Nothing MTV about it really!
  • Yellow peppers (Ok, that is a little bit of a stretch... )
  • When my brother was a kid, he went to a yard sale with my mom and decided he really wanted the canoe they had for sale! They left and somehow my brother managed to talk her into it. So they went back and it was gone! To this day (he is 24 now, lol) he still brings it up. If she had ONLY bought the canoe imagine how great…
  • I'm a gym person, but I believe it can be done without it. I use my Wii Fit on days where I don't get to the gym. You can get workout DVDs for free at the library. It is cold here right now and icy outside, but if you are in a warmer place then you have the benefit of being able to go outside. Try to find a nice trail or…
