  • Fat is pretty much every carnivores/omnivores main source of energy. Unless we turned into herbivores, idk why anyone would say its bad for you. It is easier to digest than most forms of carbs. Edit: Also if you look at someone who has a diet consisting of a lot of fat, I bet you their carb intake is at least twice as…
  • Eat dinner (if you're hungry). If you try to skip it, you'll either binge really badly (especially with all of the 4th of July goodies floating around) or you'll wake up starving tomorrow and binge again.
  • Thank you all for the support. He was still being crate trained, and for the last 7 months I had a habit of letting him out in the morning and putting him up at night. His crate is right next to my bed and whenever I get up I gravitate towards it to open it. Blah. Maybe I need to fold it up and put it out of reach, but…
  • I am too old to play the blame game, it isn't healthy to place something that only you can control on another person.
  • You are not what they were talking about. You ate 2700 cals, even if that was below your goal and net, you still ate quite a bit. They were talking about people whos goal is 1200 cals, do 2 hours of cardio everyday, and ~struggle~ to eat over 800 cals. Like eating is an inconvenience, If you ate 1500 cals and went for a…
  • I lift barefoot and have two pairs of runners. Short runs in Asics GT2170 and longer runs (~8miles) in Brooks Adrenaline. Personally. I started running in old $40 walmart tennis shoes and had knee and ankle pain. Once I got my new shoes these problems went away and as an added bonus, where the arch and heel in my new shoes…
  • You've only logged the last week this month. You need to stay consistent.
  • OP what are you hoping to do. If you're 18% body fat, you should be rockin. Do you want to lower your % more or go for a # on the scale ?
  • i personally think you've lost a lot on your face and neck !
  • Wait. Hold on. From what I understand, and how I've been doing it, those are each for different weeks. So for workout 1 and 3 (because you are alternating between workouts A and B) 15 squats - rest 15 squats - rest 15 push ups - rest 15 rows - rest 15 push ups - rest 15 rows - rest 15 step up - rest 8 jackknife - rest 15…
  • Don't like it. Kids won't eat it and will go home starving and will eat all of the junk food there.
  • You're working out too hard, you're really dehydrated or you haven't eaten enough food.
  • Lets see. Overweight girl, wants to lose 90lb, tries to eat 1200. I wouldn't say metabolic damage unless she had been eating 1200 for 6+ months. Theres people here on mfp that have been on 1200cal/day for years, thats what I would call metabolic damage, or an eating disorder / mental problems. In all honesty. I'd chalk it…
  • I live in a questionable part of a rural neighborhood, I'm not allowed to leave without at least one dog (Have 2 german shepherds and 2 akita). Only my Shepherds get ran though, our akita are just too old lol.
  • How does.. calories + fat = unhealthy? There is anywhere from 300 - 600 calories in an avacado, and they're good for you. 529 calories in a cup of almonds 300 calories in a cup of oatmeal 500 calories in a cup of raisins. Theres a lot worse things out there.
  • I think you're restricting yourself too quick. Start out eating whatever you want but within your calories (What is your calorie intake set to btw?). Usually when you do this, you quickly realize what calories are worth it and what arent. Instead of drinking 400 calories of Coke or Pepsi, you'd rather save those for a real…
  • http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/of-whooshes-and-squishy-fat.html Some of it is water. Wait for the woosh, its coming.
  • Ahaha. I just graduated High School and was on our team for 3 years.. I remember looking like that when I first started (also broke my hand 2 times..) Definitely worth it, I love Volleyball.
  • How long have you been at this weight? How long have you been dieting / losing weight? Its quite possible that your body's skin just hasn't adapted to your new body yet (it can take months, years..) I'd maintain and don't stress it. You might be pleasantly surprised in 3 months!
  • Thank you. :flowerforyou: My guy in my pic is my alpha, he just turned 3 years. I've used him to rehabilitate a dozen dog-aggressive and fearful dogs. He knows how to communicate very well and has lots of self control. He knows exactly when to submit to calm the dog, and how to deflect dogs that want to bite his head off.…
  • Ok but the problem is that 90% of people / can not / issue a correction correctly. Their timing, form, application and reasoning is ALL off. By the time you get to your dog to correct her and issue the correction, it means absolutely nothing to her. I'm not against corrections, I use an e-collar, pinch and clicker/treats.…
  • No. You're mistaken. That is not dominance. This is an insecure dog that does not know how to read other dogs or communicate properly. It probably had this same stuff happen to it as a puppy and now has social issues. A dominant dog is a dog who can control its environment and get what it wants, a dog rolling over can be…
  • Zoey is insecure, not dominant. The thought of her not being able to control her environment sends her into a fit. So she tries to correct (and ends up over correcting) things that she think will endanger her. The opportunity to repeat these actions make her more insecure and reactive. The dog park is an adult playground…
  • Estimations. Honestly I was trying to make it easier for OP since they didn't really understand it all too much and 50 / 75 were good benchmark numbers (actually I only said 75 cause the poster before me did), and saying the difference is only 15% percent or something between lifters/non-lifters might seem small enough to…
  • Lifting makes it so when you eat at a calorie deficit, you lose 75% of your loss fat. If you weren't lifting you'd only lose 50% fat, with the remainder being muscle. No lifting = 1lb of weight loss is 50% muscle, the other is 50% fat Lifting = 1lb of weight loss is 25% muscle, the other is 75% fat If you lose muscle and…
  • I find whenever I try to talk to people about lifting / running / getting into shape, they talk about those 7 day detox/diets, or fasting to lose weight, shakeology or magic weightloss pills. So I just keep things to myself.
  • I know it won't give me a 6 pack or do anything significant, I just thought I read somewhere that your core should be engaged to stabilize yourself and something about your hips. But I probably took it the wrong way, thats why I asked. I can keep my abs engaged/flexed/idon'tknowwhattocallit while running with no problems,…
  • Honestly the estimation won't be too far off. I worked in a deli and made lots of sandwiches, and I'm guilty of putting on 2x the meat, bacon or cheese (not all of them at once!) because the sizes are PUNY! At most is 60 extra calories, you'd have to eat 58 of my sandwiches to gain one pound lol!
