I know the scale moving down is like a high, but don't obsess over it. It's going to disappoint. Pictures and measurements are the best way to show progress. Your NP suggesting 700 calories a day is essential. They know what they are talking about, so listen and follow very closely. It is very important you get in all your…

My stomach and legs are not so bad to me, because I can cover them up. My arms are another thing. I've always had large arms, but now after the weight loss.... But I still look at all of this as a trophy of sorts. I look in the mirror and think about where I would be now had I not lost the weight. It's also a reminder of…

Everything in moderation too. There was a radio contest back when the Wii first came out. It was something like "How long can you hold your pee for a Wii". A lady died from too much water. I don't remember how many gallons but it was extreme. When a doctor suggests 8 8oz glasses that is minimun, but some of us have to work…

If you are freaking out about the number of calories her Nut told her, try looking at a real athlete, Lolo Jones. She won in track and field and is now on the bobsled team in the upcoming olympics. I saw an interview and she said she was eating 9000 calories a day. I can't imagine trying to eat that much, but you know she…

It's been 2 yrs since my last surgery to convert my band to the sleeve. At first I use to take everything I could in liquid form. I didn't seem to take as much, but when I went to pills, yeah, it seems like a lot. You can get all the vitamins and minerals in liquid form, the prescriptions you have to ask the pharmacy. My…

And here I sit *****ing and moaning because it's been two weeks that I haven't been able to do my cycling or go to the gym. I've been walking the dog for 40-60 min a day, but it wipes me out! I tried to go to the gym thinking, "I'm just going to do a little weight on my shoulders, nothting much..." I did two exercises and…

This is what I've been reading lately too. I have enough trouble with my knees, ankles and back!!

Check out some of the groups for thyroid issues you might get more response.

Originally being 314 lbs. I knew I had to do something, but I felt overwhelmed. Start with learning portion size. It's amazing what you find. Also try reading "eat this not that". It's basically a picture book, but it helps to start thinking healthier. Try to cut out as much processed foods as possible, but it's hard at…

Had problem with my lap band. Dr. tightened it down too tight and ended up with esophogeal herniation. Couldn't swallow, everything came back up. Had emergency surgery and they converted it to the sleeve. So much happier!! It's not magic, I'm still learning after 3 years. Have 30 more lbs to lose to get to BMI, but it's a…

The scale is not an accurate measure when you are that close to goal. If he is putting on more muscle the scale can stay the same or go up, but that doesn't mean he is eating too much. Sometimes we plateau, but that doesn't mean we are doing anthing wrong. Sometimes your body is trying to adjust. Be proud of your husband.…

Calories inthe answer to losing, maintaining or gaining weight. Eating clean just makes you feel better, and when counting calories of clean food, you usually get more and are more satisfied.

Everything in moderation. There are lots of other ways to get iron, in fact Cream of Wheat is a very good source.

I set my alarm for 2am. I don't have to worry about eating to soon are taking them hours after I eat. My doc thinks I'm crazy, but I never forget, and it works for me.

I know at first it's hard to get in the protein due to not being able to eat much at a time. Try to get your protein from natural foods rather than the protein shakes and bars. Some people have mentioned greek yogurt, I also like Quinoa. There are lots of foods with protein that aren't man made. Do some research.

Detox by not eating anything from a box, bag, or can for 30 days, and drink 64 oz of water a day.

Not be mean or anything, but you can use it as an excuse or you can overcome it. I had Graves and they had to kill my thyroid with the radiation. I have other things that hamper weight loss, but I'm doing it. Eating healthy and exercise are key for anyone no matter what health conditions you have. No one is perfect.…

I never got into macros until I was close to goal weight. I was worried about calories in, calories out and exercise. Learning about macros takes it one step more. To me macros is the portion of protein, carbs and fat in my diet. A common proportion is 50% carb, 30% protein, and 20% fat. Have you figured out your TDEE?…

Congrats to you. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. I too have lost over 100 lbs. My arms are the the ones that bother me. I hear people complaining about the stomach and legs, but I can hide those. My husband doesn't mind, he loves me regardless. He's been here through it all. I've been going to the gym…

When you were gaining, what was your progress in one week? Did you gain every week. When you ate something different did you gain that week? One week is not a guage. If you are panicking after one week.....

Might be water retention. Try watching your salt content. Ask your doctor too. If you just started walking it may solve your problem.

I started with nothing from a bag, can, or box. That was hard for me, but I started cooking and eating fresher.

Try Pilates to strengthen your core. Keep in mind you will not be able to see your six pack until you get rid of the fat. You can't spot reduce.

I think Acogg hit it right on the head. People think they are done. It's a life time change. You have to enjoy the new portions, food and exercise. I know I was lazy and didn't take into consideration how much I was eating. That's how I ended up at 317. I didn't eat really bad, although it wasn't good either. When I get…

Don't discount the guys. We have some amazing stories from the guys.

They killed my thyroid. I take synthroid, and my cholesteral is too low (69). I eat right, exercise regularly, lost over 100 lbs. and they tell me I need raise my cholesterol.

I've had two surgeries, unfortunately. Every time they put me on liquid diets I gain. My best advice, don't watch the scale. Take the first year to learn what you are suppose to do. The kinds of things to eat, how to eat them, and find a form of exercise you will enjoy for life. It can be several types of exercise not just…

Eliptical, treadmill, or spinning type bike. It's how you use them. Look up HIIT workouts. I like the spinning type classes. I can burn 600+ calories in 60 min. But you can do a HIIT workout on the eliptical or treadmill too. I don't sit alot on my bike, so my rear doesn't suffer.

My son is 6'4". We had trouble finding a driving school that used a bigger car than a Honda civic. Now he is trying to get the practice part in. Luckily my Honda Accord is a touch bigger, but he still needs a bigger vehicle. I'll probably get him an old Ford or Chevy truck something like 70's or 80's.

Hair loss can be any number of things, not just hypothyroid. I have an excess of iron, no thyroid, only 20% of my stomach, low Vitamin D levels, and probably other things, but all of these things can cause hair loss, tiredness, etc. I just have to go from one doctor to the other with each checking my levels in thier…
