This is what it was for me. It clicked. I cannot say why...other that I decided one day I'd had enough and that 2016 was going to be the year of change.

I think you have to identify why you are binge eating - boredom, stress, anxiety, something else? For me, it's stress. Once I identified the cause, I was able to do things to reduce stress - yoga, exercise, therapy. I also consciously identify when I'm stressed and intentionally make the choice to binge on low calorie…

I set my weight loss goal at 1lb/week and so MFP calculated 1850 calories, so I ate this plus the calories burned working out. Generally I tried to keep my calorie net at 100-200 at the end of the day...which gave me a loss of 1.5lbs per week. For breakfast I always try to get some healthy carbs - fruit, oatmeal - and…

Amazing isn't it...that it took until you were almost 50 and I was 40 to finally feel good?

Thanks for the concern! I didn't put this in the post and should have. I had both and EKG and ECG...both normal. My GP is an internist...he ran blood work as well...also normal.

Thanks! A few other nutrition/calorie things that worked for me that I thought of last night: - When estimating calories, add 10% to your estimate (learned that on here) - Protein makes you feel full, sugary carbs do not - A great, low calorie snack is a salad with newman's own lite honey mustard - La Croix (sp?) is a good…

Thanks! Great work on your loss - much more impressive than mine. I love going to the gym...but body weight exercises can be great resistance training too. Get a pull up bar for the doorframe, some push up bars, and go to town. A million different varieties. Yoga is also great for body weight training. YouTube is your…

CONGRATS ON YOUR LOSS!!! That's awesome. I'm a guy, so won't provide the EXACT perspective you want...but hopefully it will help since I'm in the midst of it. I've lost ~31 pounds - 216 -> 184.8 this morning. My goal as a 6' man was to get to 175...so 10 lbs out. Now that I'm here...after lots of lifting...I'm still seeing…

I'm a guy...so different perspective perhaps. 6' tall. SW: 216 CW: 191 GW: 175 People just started noticing...so for me it was about 25 pounds...or just north of 10%.

Also new to this group. Former ultra runner...gained a ton of weight...now trying to become a runner again. Appreciate this challenge. Goal is 31 miles by end of month.

Is there a place where we can do challenges?

Thanks everyone!!!

I follow a vegan diet with no sugar, caffeine, and minimal alcohol (1 drink or less per week). I do eat grains. I find that my mental clarity, energy levels, and overall physical health is much better that when I am on the SAD.
