I've been giving up candy, desserts and in between meal snacks for years. When I want a snack... I think lent.... turning my thoughts to God. And when the Triduum arrives, I am anxious for Easter. Works for me.

Pick out 5 or six of your favorite songs.... put them in a play list.... alternate slow song (warm-up), fast, Slow, fast, slow, fast.... and find a comfortable place to play the list and dance. Cheerios (yellow box, not honey nut) with a sliced banana in some organic skim milk should do the trick for replacing the muffin. Measure out the serving size, about a cup. I suggest throwing out the nutella jar. This is really tough. Ice cream is the culprit of many... we say "I'm just going to measure out a half cup as a reward for a good day". Then we eat about 2 cups. The trick, just don't go there, distract the mind with something else, and if you do fail.... pick up from that point.…
