My scale sucks in a different way. It'll tell me I'm the exact same weight for days in a row, so I "test" it by getting on holding heavy objects and it'll tell me I'm still 140.2 (or whatever) holding the objects. So then I get on without the objects and usually get a different number... I just need a better scale!

38! Sounds about right. I love my 4AM runs...

If you'll be running on snow and/or ice, I'd recommend a pair of yaktrax.

Seconding this! I love baking so much and my kitchenaid has seen a lot of use: cake, whipped cream, brownies, cookies, more cake...:D

This reminds me of when I was living in Madagascar, I was so hungry for something that wasn't rice that I would have nightly dreams of food - one night I dreamed I stole a half-eaten convenience store sandwich from a janitor. :embarassed: it was a weird time.

I have hashimoto's as well - my thyroid levels usually seem to be in the normal range except for the antibodies, which are ridiculously high, so it was a struggle to get medicated. I had put on 60 lbs in a year before I found a doctor who would give me thyroid medication. After being put on it, most of the 60 lbs seemed to…

Same! I have more energy throughout the day - though it doesn't make it any easier to force myself out of bed at 5!

lemurcatta85 on there. Starting next week I'll be training for the nike women's half marathon with it!

I'm like you and don't usually drink a lot of water, but I decided to start going for the 8 cups a day (instead of my 1 cup of coffee and maybe...1 cup of water?) The first week I had to pee a lot. Now I had 15 cups yesterday and 10 the day before (at 8 today) and it seems like my body has gotten used to it! I'm also…

All the money I earn is MINE and not supporting anyone else. Learning self reliance. Living alone, and never wearing pants. Spontaneous trips. I was in LTRs pretty much back-to-back for the past 11 years (and I'm only 25) so it's less about who I was dating than the fact I have never been alone!

I did! Well, kind of. I never ran before, started C25K, realized before the end I could run a 5k without stopping no problem, and stopped using it and just kept running. Now I run about 20-35 miles per week and have done maybe 20 5Ks, a couple 10ks, and a couple half marathons. There are still days when I don't feel…

Banana, but usually only for 10ks and up. I don't like eating first thing in the morning and honestly, don't need to fuel before such a short run.

"Stop running."

Sorry the pic is so big. It says "I'd give up my morning coffee for you (just once)"

Some people tend to run better on treadmills while others run better outside. I tend to be much faster outside than on a treadmill, and less likely to get hurt. For me, a 5.0 mph run on the treadmill feels like the same effort as a 6.3 mile per hour run outside. Now, running on actual TRAILS can be good for ankle strength…

Everyone starts somewhere different. I've been running for almost three years, and doing yoga off and on in that time, and I still cannot touch my toes most days. I recently learned that it's the nerves in my legs that are limiting my flexibility, not my hamstrings like previously thought. Just keep practicing! The…

I have seven tattoos, four of which are varying degrees of visible (both wrists, upper arm, and lower leg) and hold a corporate job, and I do hiring (I work in HR). I don't obsess over tattoos, but they can look good on people and be meaningful, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I think tattoos have been "popular"…

I have about 15 lb left to go too. I was around 135 but then went through a rough breakup, put on 5 lbs in two days, and two months later, those 5 lbs are still stuck with me. Last time I ate this strictly (not that strict as you can see from my journal...) I got to 130 easily and 125 when my mileage was around 35 per week.
