Exactly! I don't like this feature at all! Please give us a choice!

I've not noticed my saying anything until yesterday it said "ready?" I really thought it was strange. I'm going to have to look at it more. Hold me.....now that would crack me up!

Now that made me chuckle! :)

You must do this if you don't want to be overwhelmed! She is awesome!

During a workout my HRM shows a significant higher calorie burn than the FitBIt. I love the bit, but I think that for a workout the HRM is more accurate. The Fitbit is a great helper in showing me just how inactive I can be even though I am "busy" Melanie

I'm a stay at home/homeschooling mom. I thought I was always busy, and I am but just not active. Fitbit was very enlightening! So, to get my steps in, every hour or so I get up and go outside and make laps around my yard. Three laps around the fence line is 1000 steps, then I still wind up having to do like a 3 or 4 mile…

My goodness, you have had a year. ((((hugs)))) My thoughts: First, you have all done a lot of learning that may not be in the books, still, it is learning. Second, continue on until you feel like you have covered most of what you wanted to in your current year then move on. I remember someone telling me that even the…

Thanks! I'm really finding a lot of encouragement from my friends here!

Hello and congrats on that baby! Welcome to this group! Melanie

If my family wants fast food I will agree to Subway. I even like their breakfast sandwiches. If we have to go to McDonald's I choose very carefully. :)

I'm stuck on baking eggs in a muffin tin. This morning I went with egg white. Layered: Hormel natural ham poured in egg whites put 1TBS real bacon bits topped with 1 TBS shredded Parmesan cheese. baked at 350 until set. YUM I will be full until lunch :)

My older kids are happier when they see my workout. They know I will be happier and feel better. My two younger ones love to do the Leslie Sansone DVDs with me. I do get aggravated with myself when I have to do it in the middle of the day b/c I did not get up before them and do it. But, either way, the day goes a lot…

This is from Web MD : "To answer this question, let’s look at some facts. The average starlet is wearing a size 2 or 4 which is the sample size designers are making presently. Today, the average American woman is 5’4″, has a waist size of 34-35 inches and weighs between 140-150 lbs, with a dress size of 12-14. Fifty years…

We began using My Father's World when my oldest started high school. I have always been a create-your-own kind of homeschooler, but I found that MFW had already planned what I would like to use.

North Georgia, been here all of my life. :)

At my weight and fitness level I enjoy and get a good burn from Leslie Sansone DVDs. She doesn't incorporate hard choreography, just four basic moves. Good luck on your journey.

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am a 42 year old homeschool mom to 4 kiddos. I have been homeschooling now for 11 years. My oldest is 16 and the youngest is 3. :) I absolutely love homeschool. I have always been very eclectic in my approach and loved Charlotte Mason's approach. I have settled in with My…

In the early 80's my mom had the Jane Fonda workouts. She about killed my neck with that crazy upside down bicycle move at the end! Mom even had the leotards and leg warmers to match, with matching belt of course. :)

Well, the HRM is really good at getting a true estimate of calories burned during a workout. The Fitbit will tell you just how active you really are throughout your whole day. I love my fitbit, I do wear a HRM for workouts. If I had to choose one, I'd go with the Fitbit. It has shown me that although I am "busy" and am…

Yes! I want to live in the Shire & vacation in Rivendell :) Love it! {we are big LOTR's fans here! Can't wait to see the Hobbit!

Its not exactly cheap but I have a FitBit www.fitbit.com and I love it! 99 bucks, but very motivational and I love their site.

I use her dvds daily. I burn anywhere from 100 to 125 calories per mile, depending on if I am using the walk boosters. I read Leslie somewhere saying that generally speaking one mile is about 100 kcals. I use a HRM to track that burn. I have about 10 different routines and find that no matter the dvd, I am still burning…

Bahaha. I about woke the whole house laughing! (I saw that post and thought it must be a joke)

Dr Mercola @ mercola.com has lots of info on this subject. He recommends taking D3, if you are going to use a supplement. (His info is not mainstream and some may find it controversial.)

I love the feel of Sparkpeople and I like the story of how it was started. It is very motivational, for that reason I will continue to log in there. However, I stopped tracking my food there and began tracking here due to the iPhone app for MFP being better (for me) I log into Spark once a day and log my fitness there and…
