And it all comes together.

Agreed. I don't know why people make such a huge deal about calories in cheese. One ounce of most cheeses has about 100 calories, and that's a good amount of cheese. If you're eating a really well-made, flavorful cheese, an ounce at a time should be more than satisfactory. And if you're eating crappy, flavorless cheese,…

I would say pretty much anything in liquid form. Coffee is the only thing I drink these days that has any calories, other than the very occasional cocktail or glass of wine. I don't enjoy any drink enough to sacrifice food for it on a daily basis.

If you can afford a full cage, get it. Look on Craigslist before you buy something brand new, though. You can often get a great deal from someone who has equipment they want to get rid of quickly. I just have a squat/bench rack, and I use adjustable height steel sawhorses as safety spotters.

Technically, I think "traded up" means you traded an ex for someone better. If we're going to use sports analogies to describe dating someone who is hotter/"better" than YOU, I prefer "You outkicked your coverage."

Well, I am 5'0, so my view may be tinted, but if I'm describing a woman to someone else, I'd probably call her tall if she's 5'7 or taller. For men, probably 6'0+. I have a friend who is 6'4. I call him super tall. I also think physique has a lot to do with the appearance of height. If you're really skinny, you'll look…

Yes. At least one person in my family (not my immediate family) will comment on it every time I am at home for a visit. My grandmother, who has no filter between brain and mouth, constantly remarks on how much I eat (I eat nearly 90% of my calories at one meal). Others will remark on me eating sweets, like it's unheard of…

Props on the inclusion of Three Twins. I had never actually seen any until I was visiting my sister in Arizona, and we got some at Sprouts. Good stuff.

It sounds like your issue is mainly stemming from using a double overhand grip. As the weight gets heavier, the bar is more apt to roll out of your hands. A mixed grip will help a lot with that. As a next resort, I would use chalk to keep your hands dry. Then straps. I would not resort to gloves because it does screw with…

If we're talking about actual cruelty, I think that's just called being a ****ty person. Hold individuals accountable for their behavior, and stop turning everything into a societal problem by putting some psycho-babble label.on it. If we're talking about merely stating an unpopular opinion that makes people uncomfortable,…

I eat alone all the time. Don't even care. I actually prefer eating alone or eating with other people who eat big because they usually appreciate silence and the chance to focus on the monumental task at hand.

Men go gray. Men go bald. Whatever. Age gracefully. It's sexy. Way sexier than seeing a Just For Men box under your bathroom sink or learning that you have hair plugs.

^^ That was my first post in this thread back in May of last year. Started working with my lifting coach in June. I haven't max tested since December (1RM was 237.5 lbs/108 kg) then, but if I had to guess, based on my 5/3/1 progressions, my 1RM is 255-260 now. It's funny where one happens upon progress.

Work at what, exactly? Lots of exercise to combat your overeating, or are your ancestors actually holding you down and shoving food in your mouth?
-
No, it most certainly isn't.
-
If you hadn't done some consistent overeating at some point in your life, you wouldn't have fat that squishes beneath your bra strap, "crap genetics" or otherwise.

Please don't begin a statement of pure conjecture with "We all know."
-
Not with me. Arguments, yes. But you curse at me, you're going to be feeling single.

I don't feel for people who "fall prey" to advertising. I feel for their kids. Kids shouldn't be forced to grow up with imbeciles for parents.

Being an alpha is fine. Having to tell people you're an alpha is lame.

Winner. Or treat her poorly when he's around his friends because it's not "cool" to actually be nice to your woman in front of your buddies. I have zero tolerance for that BS or for being yelled at or touched in a way that suggests a physical threat. Men don't do those things to women they respect. Of course, those are not…

I see them as two sides of the same coin. A calorie is a calorie, a gram of carbs is a gram of carbs. The general principle is still "you can eat whatever foods you want as long as the overall calorie and macro targets are met," as opposed to "you need this many calories and this many grams of carbs, protein, and fat, but…

Well, this is certainly in line with the espoused Planet Fitness business model. If they had said to the complainers "If you were working hard enough, you wouldn't have time to be intimidated by someone else's body," then the only customers they'd have would be the ones who actually show up and use the equipment and…

Is IIFYM a company now? Is someone bottling it and selling it for fat loss? Unless I missed the memo, you should stop personifying what you allege is a diet. Think about what IIFYM stands for. If it fits your macros. If WHAT fits your macros? The food you eat. If the food you eat fits your macros for WHAT? Could this be a…

I do a progress check-in with my lifting coach every two weeks on Fridays. During a weigh-in week, I weigh every day and take an average of those figures to give him, along with my measurements. Once a month, I take pics. I do not weigh at all during non weigh-in weeks unless I'm just curious.

Well, my answer depends on the timeline of events. Let's say you've been floating the marriage idea for a while, so he proposed and tacked on a condition that he doesn't think you're going to live up to anytime soon, if ever. In that case, lose his number, and forget he ever existed because he does not want to marry you.…

I've said this before, but it bears repeating. If I'm stronger than you, I will not ever want to sleep with you. It very likely wouldn't be any fun for me.

That's not actually how the Internet (or real life) works. When you go into any public forum and solicit input, you are very likely to get input from people who don't agree with you. You're even likely to get "disrespectful" input. You don't get to pick and choose who responds or the manner in which they respond. If that's…

You might want to get that checked out. I don't think it's supposed to do that. We've evolved to do a lot of things our ancient ancestors didn't do. One could argue that things are better now.
