Bone Density can actually make a difference. I have had my bone structure tested because of some skeletal disfigurement and I literally am big boned (on top of having some extra baggage). As a result I was told to adjust BMI scales by approximately 10lbs for my build. On top of that, a lot of what other people said about…

I am always comparing the price per ounce on supermarket items and usually only buy if it's on sale and/ or I have a coupon. I buy generic whenever possible and if it's not the grocery store I try to stick to a no shopping cart policy. If it is so much stuff that I can't carry it, then I probably don't need at least half…

Look at your Nutrient breakdown for Vitamin A, C, Calcium & Iron. Track it for a week. If you regularly are less than 100% then I would take a Multivitamin. Also, Target Generic multi's have been shown to be just as effective as the name brand so that can definitely save you money.

I have lost 14 lbs and the only people that have noticed are those that don't see me often. The others see the gradual change so it's not as noticeable to them.

Women's Multivitamin - Tracking my nutrients on here showed me I was always slightly lacking Fish Oil - Fell for the hype on it and since all my cholesterol levels are great and my doctor didn't question it I am continuing with it Iron - just started today because it turns out I am borderline anemic Occasionally: Psyllium…

650 Calories burNed but keep in mind that is not all in one week, it takes a couple weeks for the body to finish replenishing the blood and it's that action which causes the burn. I donate several times a year but I have to be careful since I am borderline anemic.

Watch sugar free candies/chocolate. I was at a store yesterday and by the cash register there was a warning. The substitute for sugar free candies some makers use (this was a farmers market like place so it was all made there) actually acts as a LAXATIVE if you eat more than 20g of the candy. I was busting up laughing at…

There is an option to click "nutritional info" before adding to your diary and it will ask if the info is right or wrong. Compare to the package you are using and it will ask if it is right or wrong and let you change it or if it is a natural product pick something with a high number of confirmations. The Tuna you had…

I wish I just had to wake up for the gym at 6! I get to work at 6:30am so I have my alarm set for 5:40am. I try to get to sleep between 9:30p-10:00p every single night.

While most dietitians typically recommend once a week weigh ins, there was a report in the news last month that some personality types can be benefitted by daily weigh ins. It doesn't increase weight loss but it avoids backsliding and more importantly for some people in the maintenance phase it helps them hold their…

Wonder Bread - Smart White 100 calories for 2 slices & cheaper than many of the 45/slice options. It is also lower in sodium than most normal loafs.

The danger with this is that if you are working to your full potential on the elliptical, you shouldn't be able to comfortably carry a conversation. If you are working hard and have your heart rate up it would be a very breathy conversation. I have a kindle so I do one of two things: If I have my headphones around and the…

I walk in, look at the calories listed on the menu next to the items (California now has these listed right on the menu) and this quickly freaks me out and I leave. My husband likes fast food still and there are times I'll go there to get him something and not feel the least bit sad about not getting myself something…

11 lbs in I hit a 2 week Plateau ( although some say a true plateau lasts beyond 2 weeks). Today I finally lost 1 lb to get to 12. I didn't really change anything but just kept pushing through knowing eventually the weight loss would show up.

Is there light sensitivity with the headaches? Odd smells that no one else notices? Pain all on one side? These are signs that it is a migraine and not stress related. If you just say " headache" to the doctor they may not know to question it further. If it is a migraine, caffeine is your friend and don't work out while…

At first listed myself as Slightly active since I am on my feet and walking my room all day as a teacher. Then I wore a pedometer for a couple days and found out that pre gym I was only taking 3750-4500 steps a day. To be considered moderately active you should do at least 5000 steps outside of the gym so I changed my…

Bras!!! The shoes won't help if the girls are in too much pain to keep running.

Awms - I usenthat bowl :) it fits a level 2 cups of cereal which makes it so much easier to check my portion when I am tired in the morning.

Moving hay bales sounds like strength training to me. Not sure on the mucking horse stalls though.

Good recommendation on switching up brands. At home I drink a loose leaf jasmine green tea that never bothers me or the Tazo green. The one causing all the problems is a Fresh & Easy bulk green tea that I keep at work. I bought it because all kinds of savings articles say generic and bulk is the same but it clearly seems…

I highly doubt its the caffeine, coffee, black tea and my migraine tablets which have a high dose of caffeine don't bother me. Perhaps it is something with the polyphenols then.

I am opposite of you, pigeon toed on my right foot only. I wore the special forest gump style shoes until I started school and they no longer came big enough, didn't do squat. In Jr. High I started having a lot of knee pain and so I got sent to an orthopedic surgeon. He put me through physical therapy which stretched the…

A girl got on the elliptical next to me a couple weeks ago wearing WAY too much perfume. I got up and moved about 5 ellipticals down. She gave me a funny look but I don't care, I need to breath when I am working out.

A lady who was on the toilet talking on the phone when I came in, while I took care of business, while I changed and still as I left the lock for my workout. You could hear her peeing while talking and there was at least one flush in there. Ew. Why do you need the person you are on the phone with to hear all that? People…

I did this for 1.5 months and then couldn't do it anymore and the weight quickly came back. I lost 20 lbs but I think that all came back within a few months. If you are on the regular plan ( not the frozen meals) the prices seems reasonable at first, until you get your kit and realize how much fresh food you still have to…

I do Relay for Life which is for Cancer research. Google relay for life and they let you search for local events on their website. It was a $10 entrance fee and then you are encouraged to fundraise more. I always aim for a minimum of $200 personally. Some events have different requirements. For example, my friend does the…

I went over tWice this week and I have been under twice. I try not to obsess ov it to much because rememb, if you are set to lose 1 lb per week you are already running a 500 calorie deficit. So even after the splurge you are still below your maintenance calories.

My ladies have never gone down in size.

I cook up my new York strip and then immediately cut it in half and put half in the fridge for the next day. I cut my pieces smaller than I used to so that it feels like I am still eating the same amount since I am taking more bites. Even though I am eating steaks my cholesterol levels are awesome so I am not worried.

Baby carrots. They are especially my work snacks, I go through 2 bags a week at work.
