Make a small change, and stick to it for at least two weeks before giving up or adding another change. Do not give up your fav. foods. Measure! If you have or can get a food scale, measuring is sooooooooo simple. Much easier to pour an ounce of, uh, chips than to count out 27 chips. I just got a food scale for xmas, and…

I simply try to NET 1200 (per mfp instructions). So, yes, I eat back my exercise calories. Totally works. :)

I don't give much thought to shape type. I just know I don't want to be fat, and I want to be fit (not just thin). I love seeing my body toned (NOT overly muscular). I used to be thin, before I got FAT, but I had never been fit. Now, I'm pretty fit, while still working on it. :)

Thanks so much for sharing your story. I am pretty close to goal, and I am really scared of maintenance. I don't want to fall into any bad habits and have the weight sneak back on. IF you can do it while going through "stuff," surely I can do it too. Keep up the good work. And good luck w/ your continuing journey.

Vanity!! I have two siblings, younger. I grew up thin. They did not. I was always the thin one. Well, my sister had lost about 80/90 lbs on WW and was then about the same weight as me. Happy, very happy, for her. But I was kind of freaking out. I'm supposed to be the thin one. I'm always the thin one. So, I got very…

The whole reason I am able to stick to this so-called diet (I don't like to call it a diet; seems too temporary) is because I eat absolutely anything I want. I just watch my calories, so I would not even say it is portion control. It is calorie control. Mostly, I eat healthy-ish food. But, I always fit in something that…

It is your home. You can set it up anyway you want. You may have to make things more traditional to sell, but if you're not moving any time soon, GO FOR IT! Good point re supporting the weight of your equipment (esp. if there is a basement underneath).

The results of your hard work will not disappear if you take a break for a few days (even a couple weeks won't end it all). Get well. Then pick up where you left off. Just try to eat well when you're up to eating at all. No worries. :)

Hmm. My opinion - If you were only a couple weeks away, I'd say go for your goal size. But, this earlly on, I think you're setting yourself up for frustration or disappointment. Besides, haven't you ever tried on something that is supposed to be your size, but it didn't fit right? So you cannot know whether the swim suit…

Simple and to the point. I agree!

Uh, you're kidding, right?

Nothing you can do about someone elses behavior, but you can change how you handle it. Assuming it is safe to do so, you need to confront him, and let him know he is being hurtful. Ask him if that was his intention. If he says he didn't mean to hurt you (I think I'm giving him too much credit here, btw), then ask him to…

EASY morning. Just a moderate-pace walk around the block (20 min.). I have an injured foot, but want to get back to running. I figure that I will never run if I don't start walking. I will not make the mistake of diving in full force again (injuring again). So, this little walk is the beginning. I'll have to see how my…

Runners are lean, generally. Go for it.

I was recently measured at JC Penney. The woman was wonderful. When she told me what size I should be wearing, I told her that there was no way, but was willing to try one on to show her that she was mistaken. But she nailed it. I was wearing the wrong size in both the band and cup!! Having the right size bra is life…

Rock 'n' Roll Girl!!! Nice work!

In the beginning of my journey, it was difficult to be "positive." But, my first little success, which I FORCED from myself, and which was a 0.6 lb. loss in the first week, changed my attitude completely. Every little bit of success made me believe I could repeat that success. And you know what? Most of the time, I lost…

I keep mine closed because I have come across some surprisingly judgy people here. I have not been attacked by anyone, but have been witness to some very rude, and actually mean, attacks. I do not eat "clean." I do not deprive myself. I simply limit my calories and net my daily goal give or take a few. I do not intend to…

Huh? Why??

I see no reason for you to feel guilty. That said, since you DO feel guilty, go eat w/ your family. Plan out in your mind what you will eat, and stick to the plan. And, most importantly, track it. Believe me when I tell you, you can learn to do this. It does not mean you only eat lettuce w/ the family. It means planning…

You won't know until you lose the weight.

WTG!!

Track your calories and stay w/in your limit. You'll be fine. And, you'll be a non-smoker. Congrats.

Make room to have some treats! Then track everything. Enjoy!

Did you say 16 oz. per day?!? LOL Rookie!
-
I love this! Thanks for sharing.

This is no simple matter. I would like to offer the idea that you allow some no. of calories in your day for these treats. Then you can have SOME treats, not feel guilty, and perhaps build up your resistance to treats that fall outside your calorie limit. I know if I allow myself a little something (okay, sometimes 400 or…
