Thank you so much! I really appreciate this. This is totally new to me and I feel totally thrown off thinking of the past few months of what I have been eating!
-
FYI Clearly Canadian is coming back! Dunkaroos still exist (I might just get sick thinking of eating one).

Wait, so can someone tell me how to weigh my sorbet? I've been doing it wrong apparently. 125ml of Chapman's sorbet...do I use a measuring cup? lol
-
Don't worry. I have had a crappy few days and man...I've been taking it out on my dh... The scale seems like a big pain in the *kitten*, yes. It feels you will be run by calorie counting, weighing everything etc. At first, it will seem crazy. It might seem overwhelming. But it's a necessity, a tool until you absolutely are…

ADD falls under the acronym ADHD now as it's more of a spectrum disorder. You can have inattentive, hyperactive or combined type however...regardless, all the struggles are the same I think..
-
Sad: Sour cream. What appears to be 1tbs or actually 2. Cheese. Wahhhh. Oh, and quinoa, pasta, and rice. And tortilla chips. Very sad day there.... Happy: Frozen sorbet. I agree that 125 ml is much better than I first thought it would look like.

I'm starting to think you might be a chef. Your meals look delicious.
-
Very good advice. I try to make sure I'm full before going anywhere and changing events to more active ones-short hikes etc.

I don't know about the breakdowns but I have bad adhd. I stick to the same meals almost every day and mix it up by changing to two or three things. I eat what I like but this I can manage. I cannot manage changing it severely every day and planning, prep etc. Breakfast every day: Old fashioned oats 30g, with psyllium husk…
-
I take 30g (about 1/3c) of old-fashioned oats and add 3/4c water and put in microwave for 90 seconds. It might be a bit watery still so I add psyllium husk, stir quick! Then I add 4g brown sugar and my fruit (half banana plus blueberries, etc). Yum yum. I eat it every morning!

A cup of butternut squash soup with a small potato and sour cream and a turkey burger. Finishing off with some coconut dark chocolate.
-
The waffle iron thing is a great idea! Going to try that.
-
Bumping this

No one told me (until MFP) that I could lose weight AND EAT CHOCOLATE EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!! And I don't feel guilty about it this time!
-
Thank you! We eat mostly at home as well. I did eat at a kid's school event twice the last month but haven't eaten a single thing out in 3 months (including coffee etc). Your meals sound very good!!
-
So, if you are doing cardio you lose lean muscle mass? Sorry, new to all this and not really up to speed on our bodies obviously haha
-
I'm just curious if that is what that means. I don't necessarily pick lower calorie options on purpose. I eat spinach every day because I love it same with two potatoes a day lately (haha). Just wasn't sure if I would be deemed a volume eater or not. If so, I can understand where some of my triggers or feeling unsatisfied…
-
bloody brilliant.
-
I don't have any experience with it but I went off a med (amphetamines for adhd) and gained 25 lbs because of the same sort of side effect -appetite coming back and no control over it.
-
Thank you for your advice. I meant going elsewhere to do strength training (gym etc). Not in our budget right now so I did get some ideas for at home exercises though but wasn't sure if that was the same. Not worried about numbers on a scale at all. Just sort of not even sure what I could do at home without much equipment…
-
Okay so it's basically there already and the fat is coming off of there so now I can see it? LOL sorry, such a dopey question. I am not ready for strength training yet but would ideally like to be strong and healthy vs thin and the same as me being overweight (weak). I'm guessing that I would have to add strength training…

Do you weigh your food?
-
It's not just for me. It's being considerate of people that read it that might be impressionable. Any medical professional will tell you to never ever go cold turkey off meds. It's irresponsible to share it and recommend. People sometimes do not make such informed decisions and go by internet-advice.
-
I've lost 19 lbs so far with eating properly and short workouts at home only.
-
My biggest fear in my new "journey" is that I will become lazy, or uninterested in logging food. I definitely need to be held accountable for that for sure. I've only lost 19 lbs on my 5'2 frame and what...55+ to go. We can do this!
-
Hi! I would love to join please! It will be my first challenge to myself.
-
I don't recommend this nor recommend sharing the cold turkey part. It's very bad advice as other people might think "hey, h/she did it..." You can have SEVERE reactions to cold turkey cutting off meds. Psychosis can occur in some meds...do not go off cold turkey. Ever.
