I found small pkgs of chicken jerky that a nice little serving was only 60 cals...the 80g bag of it was 240cals...tasty as well!

I'm liking this not because it was great that you had to experience it but because you were so honest in sharing. Sometimes I wonder if my spouse and I will end up like this. We don't seem to have anything in common anymore and nothing to look forward to "together", lol.

All the "we only need ourselves" advice doesn't always come across as inspiring or motivational. Sometimes people need to feel heard and by being heard they often feel supported. Perhaps we can talk about how difficult it can be when you don't feel on the same path as your spouse or when you ask for some sort of support…

I am. I have been logging my food for 77 days (for the third time) and it's very hard doing it on my own. (Making food for others, myself, logging, someone supportive) I have talked about it many times (need for support) but it's not cared about. It's triggering me lately, and don't feel the support network I need is with…

Wear a bathing suit and go swimming with my kids!

Oooh I want to see a pic of it in real life (not a promo shot). Beautiful colour.

Mine is pistachio I think. Although I don't use it much anymore , it's still very pretty!

Following as I meet with an obgyn in Nov to discuss hysterectomy. I am hoping to have laparascopic type...but very scared in general of surgeries. Moreso though of being overweight/obese and fear having cardiac issues when in surgery.

I hate it when food is wrecked with oil. I'm wondering how we can order things at a restaurant with no guck on it. I like steamed veggies with vinegar (nom nom) and grilled chicken but not all slathered in oil.

Well, I think I might have a new thing to try when our kitchen is a bit cooler. Still super hot and hate cooking/baking with a gas stove. I didn't realize I could use sweetener. Now I'm really excited to try them out. Thanks for the tips! Anyone want to suggest some good flavour combinations?
-
Oooh thank you for all the new suggestions. I think I need that salted caramel. nom nom. I bought some little meringue cookies at Save On Foods in a plastic tub. Come in lemon, strawberry, orange, vanilla, etc. About $4.99. Anyhow, the lemon tastes just like lemon meringue pie. For 6 small ones it's about 45 calories!…

2 eggs 2-3 times a week. Could eat everyday. I love them! Fried, scrambled with cheese, poached with white vinegar and salt on top, soft boiled, hard boiled, egg salad in lettuce wraps...so many ways to eat. Relatively cheap protein source too.

I've been buying these lovely meringue cookies in the store. 6 small cookies is 44calories of the kind I buy. In lots of flavours!

What about my nachos with chicken, guac, sour cream, cheese, and deep fried chips (I think) from the mexican food truck? It was the size of a large fry tray. I didn't eat all the chips but I did eat all of the ones with stuff on them! Then I ate half a bag (big bag) of freaking cotton candy. (At a fall fair). Should have…

I like the Wendy's half salad + small chili option. I can't have wheat so the chili it's a nice option for "heavier" food.

I'm starting to prep salads for the week and portioned out veggies, fruit, etc. And cooking meats for 2-3 days. The purpose for me is I'm an impulsive eater so if it's ready to eat, I will grab it when hungry instead of say cookies, lol

I was doing the same thing. I upped my general calories and am much much better. I get more food in the day and not feeling as deprived, thus curbing binge episodes. I'm finding that slower weight loss for myself is better due to the binge cycles that were happening.

I don't think anyone is labeling them unhealthy. The post is probably more focused on surprisingly high calories for things besides the obvious like doughnuts, etc.

I don't get it either haha

My mom used to make the best homemade fries. We always had this container of oil in the fridge just for fries. We would wrap in blank newsprint (used to get roll ends, lol) and put tons of salt and vinegar on them. Yummm

What is a black and blue burger? She sounds awesome!

I have been eating a pkg of instant peaches and cream oatmeal (130 cals) which seems to help.

Yes, I am and only since adulthood. Some of those items have minimal lactose (butter, for the amount you eat on a potato). IBS however can be flared by chocolate, oats, etc. It might be beneficial to look into a low-fodmap diet. You go through elimination diet and then introduce items slowly. Fodmaps are basically short…

Do you make the squash noodles yourself or buy in pkg? I just discovered some premade and they were soooo goood!!!!

Where do I get this brewed chocolate to make in a press?

We have a Ninja and it's awful. It seems like it would be great but no. It can do ice but not things like carrots, spinach, peel from blueberry etc.

I'm in BC (Van Island as well) Mom to 4 :)

Or we are in the wrong business haha

You may just need to cut down on the veggies that are high in Fodmaps. Worth a try (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc). Look for low fodmap veggies online :)

I am fairly new to lactose-free products so if you know of any other decent items please share. I find our local grocery stores lacking but I can ask for items to be brought in.
