Squats and DL are kings for the legs. If you do those you are 90% there. Lots of gyms have other leg machines that can help. So after you knock out those two, I'd see what other equipment is available. Also remember to do calf workouts as well! Happy New Years

Trust me...500 calories are easy to burn during Zumba. My wife is an instructor and drags my backside to her classes. I have a polar heart monitor/calorie counter and it ranges anywhere from 600-900 for the 50 min class. Another guy in class also wears a similar type and he gets more or less the same amount.…

Running works primarily the lower body. So maybe doing something physical for upper body...weight training, rock climbing, rowing...

Not saying you can't do yoga to recomp but not really the correct tools for the job. Think of your body as clay. To add clay, you need to weightlift plus calorie surplus ...to take away, you need to weightlift and/or cardio and be in a calorie deficient to lose. More or less. I'd recommend finding a lifting partner if…

Agree...I think it's like unicorns...talked about but rarely actually seen. thanks guys.

It happens to all of us at all levels of fitness. Always something we think is behind, or way behind. Remember this is a race of 1, yourself. Not others. Other people have different motivations, different genes, different diets...you only have influence of what you can do. These things take time...each step forward is a…

Nothing makes you get the weight up like knowing its' all you. Nothing is more stupid either.

Similar to other answers: Walk Many of us started that way. Eventually we jogged and then hit the weights but walking is an excellent beginning.

Agree that the packet is high in sodium...but if you work out on a usual basis, it should be bad for you..in moderations. With that said, I dump the packet in with olive oil and apple cider vin and put it on sliced up cabbage (plus onions, tomatoes and cucumbers). If I'm not cutting, I cumble the noodles up and put on top.…

The obvious answer is to work out when you KNOW you will work out. With that said, I work out in the morning for a couple reasons: 1. If I work out before I head into work, I don't have the excuse of work or unexpected meetings ect to stop me from working out later 2. I've read that one's testosterone levels are higher in…

totally agree there are many ways to Dublin. Thing is in today's culture of instant gratification, they want them NOW...or atleast the most efficient way to get what they want. Problem is that what works for me may not work best for you.

This is a often debated subject on BB forms. From what I've seen, lighter weights do just as much for building muscles as heavy, but they aren't as hard on the joints. The main thing is volumn. Read an article recently that Arnold only used 40lb dumbells for curls.

I think Manslow had it about right...self actualization...strive to become more than you thought you could, be more of what you are. So few of us ever come close to hitting our full potential. Imagine if you did..or even hit 90%. You would be a Tiger Woods in your world.

You asked: What is a good range of fluctuation to have in maintenance? I can easily fluctuate 1-2% of body weight while maintaining. So 2lbs is probably not that big of a deal for you.

I take quiet a few supplements. Do they work? Well, I feel great, seldom get sick and my quack is always pleased with my blood work and over all health. I'm of the mind that they do work to some degree, but eatting a balanced diet, exercising and getting adequate rest is 90% of it, supplements may (key word) help with the…

Yes..days you don't work out is when your muscles are busy rebuilding and growing. The only time that you won't is if you are cutting and weight loss is more important that muscle maintence/gain.

Before I started, when i looked down in the shower...I couldn't see my feet..belly in the way. After I lost all my weight, I looked down and could see my ankles. That is when I knew I was skinny..enough...so I started hitting the weights.

When I see a lady/guy lift an impressive weight amount or good form, I go out of my way to say "Impressive weight or Excellent Form". I usually get a HUGE smile, because all of us are trying to improve and it makes us feel great when someone notices. I always reply Thank you, I appreciate that. When I get a compliment.

About 6 months out of the year, I follow a fairly strict paleo diet. No booze, no dairy..almost all meat and vegs. I don't eat a lot of nuts. I do however drink coffee...a lot. But eatting that way and watching my macros is effective in letting me lose the weight I need before a comp. So yes, for me, it works.

I started going bald as a jr in HS. For the next 25 years I'd look in the mirror and worry about losing more. In my early 40s I finally shaved it all off. People think I'm 10 years younger (or so I've been told). And I don't spend a sec thinking about my hair or lack there of now.

While walking on a Hawaiian beach a few months back a guy yelled over to me..."You sure got a pretty mouth". I just kept on walking...

I took off 60 lbs in 4 months. Primarily do to walking. Some days I lost 2lbs a day. Diet is key of course. I think if you actually DID what you planned, I think you'd see some outstanding results...Big If. I'm pulling for you, so let us know how you do.

Not sure if you plan on working out for ONLY 3 days a week or if it's 3 days on, one day off? I think it's the first one. I read the hotlinks you provided. To be honest, I disagree. I think many dedicated lifters can work out for more than 3 times a week regardless if they take the "extra" supplements that pros do. Right…
