  • Hi! Just wanted to welcome you to the site, and say congratulations on the loss. That's great! Sorry that I can't help you with your question, but I'm kinda new myself. If no one gives you an opinion, you might try posting it on the fitness message board.
  • Thanks, auntKaren!
  • Just wanted to thank eveyone on the site for all of your posts. I don't respond to a lot of you, but I read just about every post here. I've learned so much from your questions and answers. Because of you, I have changed the way I think. It is no longer so important to me what the scale reads or how much I lose. The most…
  • Fourth week, Fourth weigh in Starting weight: 183 Weight by Memorial Day: 171 Current Weight: 178 Loss this week: .5 Total loss: 5 pounds I'm not sure that I'll reach that goal by Memorial Day, but that's okay. I'm eating healthier than I ever have. As long as I continue to lose every week until I get within 15 pounds of…
  • Banks, you make me laugh!!!
  • Hey, it is good that you left the Ben and Jerry! And you have the right idea about today. Jump right back in with both feet!! Yesterday may set you back a little, but you aren't living there. Your attitude keeps you focused on today, which is where you are. So chin up, and hit today running. You can do this!
  • That is awesome!! Keep up the good work!
  • Hello and Welcome! I just know you're gonna love this site. Being able to log food and exercise makes it really easy, and the support is fantastic.
  • Super Fantastic!! Should we put out an APB if we don't hear from you? lol Keep up the good work!
  • It is crazy to eat more and lose! I never knew util this site what I was doing wrong--not getting enough calories to keep my body out of starvation mode. I'll be watching for future posts on this. Keep me informed!
  • Hello and welcome to the site. Know what you mean about Weight Watchers. Went that route, made it to my goal weight, and just couldn't keep going to the meetings and paying out. Just like you, when I stopped tracking what I ate, I gained. Since then, I've done a lot of different programs, but this one is the best!…

  • Know what? I think I misunderstood you. You're going to put it in the data base, and I thought you were going to post it on Recipes on the message board. I don't think you can put points on the sites list! Sorry!
  • Welcome to the site, Angela!
  • Great idea! Be sure to put the point values cause some people count points.
  • Welcome, Stephanie! With that kind of determination, you can definitely lose it! There's lots of great info here, as well as support when it gets tough. Wishing you the best! Judy
  • Is this for the entire recipe? How many muffins does it make? Most recipes make either 6 or 12 muffins. If this is for the entire recipie, divide by the number of muffins it makes, and that'll give you the info for one muffin.
  • There's a site that you can go to, put in your ingredients, and it'll tell you what you need to know. tool http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp Hope this helps.
  • I generally perfer natural. It's gotta be better for us. If I'm short on calories, I'll exercise more so I can work the extra calories in.
  • Once a week, on Thursday night cause that's when the weight-loss-support group meets. If I weren't attending that, I'd take Banks up on his challenge, and weigh once a month. No way could I check myself everyday. I do go up and down for no real reason from one day to the next. It would drive me "bonkers" to see that. You…
  • Kinda new myself (joined March), but I've had the same kind of problem. Especially when I add my exercise calories. I try to get as close as possible, but I don't over eat. I try to go for higher calorie foods that are still healthy when I see I need a lot more. Of course, you could eat something high calorie that you just…
  • It works for me. Been on it for a little over 3 weeks, and lost 6.5 pounds. I've lost more with all kinds of programs, but I've never kept the weight off. With this site, I know I can keep it off because I'm changing my life style and the way I think about food and exercise. Welcome! Glad to have you here!
  • There's some really good info in this. Thanks!
  • No! Don't do that! It's those examples that make it so clear for me. Removes all question about what you mean. Most people aren't as thorough, and I sometimes have to figure out what they mean by what they say. I have a very logical, analytical mind, but I'm not a "brainiac". lol
  • Thank you so much, Banks! You always explain things so well. I teach algebra and trig to high school students, so the math isn't scary. In fact, it's a big help to me.
  • I know that there has been a previous post about going over on protein counts, but I'm still not sure what I need to do. Without exercise, MFP recommends 45 g per day for me. I eat whole grain breads and pastas (5-8g), edamame or soy beans (8g), and I drink milk or eat yogurt (7-8g). By the time I add in the protein from…
  • Wow, Banks! What a great explanation! Definitly a "keeper", so I made a copy for future reference.
  • Third week, third weigh in Starting Weight: 183 Weight by Memorial Day: 171 Current Weight: 178.5 Pounds lost this week: .5 Total Pounds Lost: 4.5 Didn't get to exercise as much this week--first week back from Spring Break don't you know? I'll do better next week.
  • Welcome! I think everyone gets discouraged sometimes. When that happens to you, post how you're feeling and you'll find tons of support. Wishing the best for you!
  • This sounds so good! Gonna make some tonight! Thanks for all the great recipes you share. Judy
